It would work, but it was close as the Darumaka hit the ground with one her shoulder. She would twirl her back up in what could be called a ballerina twist as she turns back around to face her opponent and does another curtsy.
"Now that she has attacked, it's your turn. Remember, all moves are considered to be attacks."
The voice told him again ...as the Darumaka would look to try and avoid the incoming attack.
(Also, in this guild, we have things called critical and fumble rolls. If a roll of a 20 is made, it's called a critical roll and will give a +1 to either the defensive or attack roll depending on when it's rolled. In contrast, if you roll a 1, it will drop your accuracy by -1 to either attack or defense depending on when it's roll.)

((To answer your earlier questions. Timing is something for us to know, and you to figure out. Encounters on the island as with most places are determined by a list set by a moderator, and you rolling 1D20. If you roll something on that list you will encounter it in an event controlled by a mod. If you don't...just post/roll again.))
"We'll see about that" The Phantom voice would remark, the shadows once more closing in upon the boy, leaving him in a world of darkness. The boy had learned all that could be taught for the time being, and so there would be no question of a Tutorial. Instead a section of the floor would simply begin to glow, a Pokemon bursting from the floor in a flurry of fists.
This time the boy would not be faced with the fiery Litwik, but instead a most unexpected opponent. With cream coloured fur and a furious determined gaze, it could be no other Pokemon then Mankey that stood before the Rufflet.
Snorting slightly, the Pig-Monkey would slam his fists together before thrusting his right arm skyward ">TO THE EXTREME!<" He shouted loudly, likely several octaves higher then was by any means necessary. The little Fighting-Type seemed to be pumping himself up, focusing his spirit...and indeed one could soon see a strange white radiance gathering from around his body and into his fists. Focus Energy, one of a Fighting-Type's greatest weapons. Mankey [M]

Michael watched as the darumaka missed her attack. "Okay, Oshawott! Use tackle!" He called out as his pokemon looked at his opponent and charged at darumaka with full force.
((got it, and i may need a little more explaining about that sometime))

Exp:0/100 Kane watched as Fang completely missed the Shinx. Tough luck for his Poochyena. But he knew the dark pokemon wouldn't give up so easily. Just as he thought that, Fang seemed to watch the Shinx carefully trying to figure out what the pokemon was going to do.The Poochyena skidded to a halt after missing his opponent. He couldn't even say that it was a close miss! There had been at least a couple feet between them left! Then the cat turned around and aimed to slam into him. The Poochyena's crimson gaze widened in anticipation. As the Shinx came towards him, he also began running. Just as the pokemon charged to slam into him with that Tackle, the grey and black pokemon aimed to slide underneath him!

(Makes sense. That reminds me though, how do Type advantages and disadvantages work?) Like before, the shadows came for him and his Rufflet, before he instantly found himself back into the mysterious room full of darkness. Jake watched as a section of the floor glowed, before a Mankey jumped out with a loud screech, it's body glowing white. 'Focus Energy, guess it'll be good to do what damage I can before those fists hits Rufflet.' Jake glanced over to Jay, the bird was already out in front of him with its wings puffed out. He smiled, "Okay Rufflet, prepare to avoid any attacks it throws at you." The bird nodded its head in response, it's eyes locked on the Mankey. ((Incorrect. I mentioned this in an earlier post, the first one in fact. When two Pokemon share the same speed they attack at the same time. The person whom rolls the highest succeeds, and then goes on the defensive. You were supposed to attack just now.))
((It doesn't change the outcome in this case, but it's a significant thing to note for the future.))
((As for Weakness and Resistance that works as it always had. 2x or 4x the normal damage depending on how weak they are, or 0.5x or 0.25x depending on how resistant.))
((In this case Peck will deal x2 the normal damage.))

Snorting slightly, the Mankey would stamp his foot against the ground. All at once the white glow would disperse in a wave around him, his fists sparkling and shimmering faintly. Narrowing his eyes on the Rufflet, the Fighting-Type would roll his shoulder, lifting his fists into something resembling a boxers stance. Feet held strong against the ground, the Mankey would simply watch and wait for the moment, prepared to take whatever his opponent could dish out!

(Dang, I thought it was weird you pulled off Focus Energy for an attack move. Your rolls could have killed me twice now..) Jay watched as the only move the Mankey had made was a change in it's position. Well if it wasn't going to attack, this was going to be his chance to do so. The bird turned to his Trainer for confirmation, his Trainer nodding in response. "Go ahead and use Peck then." The bird nodded, charging forward with it's beak glowing in hopes of making contact with it's opponent. The move would hit as the Darumaka was knocked off of her feet and sent in a ball rolling away. SHe would quickly though come to a stop as pops back out on her feet. A bruise was on her chest as she touches it tenderly with one hand and then with watery eyes would look at the water type.
"Daru ...maka"
~How could you touch ....such an innocent female as myself there~
She would tell him ....as her eyes would tear over. Though those tears wouldn't last long as female rage would take over at the invasive tackle, and she would come forward with her fist glowing with a fighter's power as she calls out.
"DARU MA!"

The Focus punch would be a sight to see as she went to punch him right in the face.
(First off, as you will notice ....you need to make sure you don't use quotation for pokemon speech. Regular people can not understand them, and that includes right now ...their trainers.
Second, damage.
To find out the damage for an attack is a simple equation.
First you subtract the two dice rolls, in this case it should be 9 - 2 which is a differences of 6.
Then next, you figure if the attack is an regular or a special attack. That is easy enough by looking in the information section and using the type to find the attack. Then if it a regular attack like tackle you figure out the difference's between the attacker's attack stats and the defending pokemon's defense stats. If it's special attack, its the sp. attack - sp. defense.
Thus,
7 - 6 in this case, which is 1
Then you add the two together which is 7 dmg all together for Daramaku.)

Michael was suprised that Tackle had hit the opposing pokemon, then gasped as darumaka came charging at oshawott with a fist glowing. "Oshawott! Dodge the attack!" He called out to his pokemon, the worried oshawott got into position to move again "Osha..." ~I'll try my best!~ The both of them had start to worry if the punch would land or miss.

[FUMBLE! -1 TO JAY'S ATTACK ROLLS!]
Bobbing slightly, the Mankey would come up on the left, quickly sidestepping at an angle to bring himself up on the Rufflet's side. Following that with a quick back-peddle, the Fighting-Type's tail would curl as his eyes narrowed. Snorthing once, the Mankey would kick off the ground and charge forward ">I'll blaze a trail...TO THE EXTREME!<" The next instant the white radiance around Solar's right fist would ignite into a shimmering yellow flame. This was his special technique, one which seemed destined to bring about the same fate as Jay's previous battle. Fire Punch!

The battle would end in that once move ...that fist would punch through her opponent with a enough force to send the Oshawott into the wall. The force actually cracking the wall all the way to the ceiling as she would coo and try to look more cute.
This battle was over, the Duramaka had won it in a single hit.
She was showing why a male had to be careful where their hands went during a battle.
Hp: -3
(Also, something else you should note, if a pokemon's hp drops below -7 that pokemon will die. In other words, it will be dead and you will be unable to use it again ...period.)

Michael watched as the darumaka punched oshawott and sent him flying towards the wall. "Oshawott!" He yelled as he ran over to his pokemon, picked him up, and walked towards the spot where he was and turned around "Okay, now what? Do I just give up?" He said with a bit of anger in his voice

The voice would chime in then.
"You have failed your first attempt....."
A red light would hit the Darumaka seemingly coming from the ceiling as she vanishes from the arena.
"But, you aren't done yet. YOu have one more chance to take on this final trial, before other measures have to be taken." "Go to the academy, and head for the pokemon center ...heal your pokemon and then return here."
The voice would tell Micheal as it would seem he was now free to go.

Michael nodded and walked toward the exit and whispered to himself "Next time i will have to get lucky, oshawott, you will have to dodge and return with another tackle" He then exited to go to the pokemon center.

Michael walked into the battle room one last time, determined to win. "Okay! I have returned for my last attempt at my dream, and this time I will not lose!!" He said as he set down his Oshawott and motioned for him to get ready to fight once more. After Oshawott got into a battle-ready stance, he waited for the opponent.
