(Oh shnap, I meant he mumbled it, but luckily, I've been using something as a back-up plan. : 3 You know how Knux makes jokes about Rouge's temper? Let's just say they aren't really 'jokes' as much as 'warnings'....)
Knuckles looked over his shoulder at Vergil. Considering the fact that he was in a situtation with whatl ooked like no way out, he was quite calm. "Don't assume I'm such an easy target, 'Vergil.' Besides Shadow, I'm probably the one you least want to get into a fight with."
Rouge stared. What was Knuckles going on about?
"I dare you. Try and kill me." Knuckles taunted, smirking slightly.

Vergil said nothing. He wasn't phased by Knuckles' words. He simply swung Yamato at the mutant.

Suddenly, Vergil's wrist was grabbed, stopping Yamato just before it cut of Knuckles' head. "Don't. You. DARE." Rouge hissed, teeth(and fangs) bared. She threw Vergil back. And I mean she threw. About five feet, actually.
(GIRL POWAH! mrgreen 'Course, that doesn't mean she always gets an autohit in on him, it's just most things probably will hit him xD)

Vergil was actually a bit shocked. However, this semi embarrassment gave him another new target. "How about I clip those wings of yours?" He told Rouge. He rushed at her, but Yamato's blade was met with an icy claw.
Contrary to his chilling appearance, Justin had fire in his eyes. "STAY AWAY FROM HER!!!" He roared.
Dante watched this little incident with interest. "Let's see how big bro handles a pissed off, lovesick ice demon." He whispered to himself with a smirk. Hell, Justin's feelings for Rouge were even obvious to the red wearing son of Sparda, and they hadn't even known each other that long.

"Heh. And everyone thinks I'm kidding when I warn them about Rouge's temper." Knuckles chuckled.
Rouge glared at Vergil, then looked at Knuckles with a softened expression. "Are you okay?"
"Amazing." He grinned.

Vergil and Justin repeatedly swung at each other, blade meeting claw with each slash. They seemed evenly matched at this instant. However, Vergil was shocked at how much stronger and fiercer Justin's strikes became when he went to strike the bat.

(I'm guessing Vergil's never heard of love, huh? : P)
Knuckles and Rouge's heads turned to one demon to the other, just barely keeping up with what was going on. They were freakin' fast.

Justin swung his icy fist, sending Vergil back a few feet. He then picked up Cerberus, wielding the nunchaku again. He unleashed a flurry of swings at Vergil, who seemed to block most of them, but he got a few hits off on the older son of Sparda.
Vergil then realized what was driving Justin. Love. He knocked Justin down to his knees. "You care for her? Fool. A demon's true strength comes from pushing away emotion. You'll learn this after the heads of the echidna and the bat fall to the ground." He whispered in the ice demon's ear, kneeing him in the stomach.

(Here we go again.... eek )
Rouge, with her large bat ears, heard this. She instantly went into rage mode, and grabbed Vergil's shoulder, spinning him around. Wasting no time, she punched him as hard as she could in the face, knocking him back. "YOU WAN'NA KNOW WHAT YOU'LL LEARN, JACKASS?! YOU'RE GOING TO LEARN NOT TO MESS WITH ME OR MY FRIENDS!"

Vergil was once again shocked by how strong this bat woman was. He then looked to Dante. "You know why I'm really here." He said, vanishing for one second, then reappearing in front of him, snatching an odd amulet from his pocket. Vergil then disappeared, nowhere to be found.
Justin was also shocked by how strong Rouge was. Maybe she didn't need his help after all. He did a lousy job fighting Vergil so far, anyway.

Rouge's chest was rising and falling rapidly, her hands in tight fists, teeth clenched together. She closed her eyes, exhaling and pushing hair out of her face with a hand, then looked at Justin and helped him up. "You okay?"

Justin looked at Rouge, then nodded. "Yeah. I'm fine. That guy was strong, though. But, why did he leave so soon? He could have killed me." He said.

Rouge nodded, then looked over at Knuckles. "You almost get yourself killed, and then DARE him to kill you?!"
"Whatever sparks your rage." replied the Echidna, putting his hands in his pockets and walking away, over to Sonic, Amy, and Tails.
"What's that supposed to mean? Hey, get back here!" Rouge ran after him.
