Headmistress Lillian Van Nikolai
Lillian nodded and said, "Don't worry then, I'll take a few."
But then Rose hugged her like a mother and her eyes widened a bit. She hugged Rose back but she was truly shocked. Mother? Her? After abandoning her real daughter? She smiled weakly at Rose and led her out when all was said and done.
"Thank you, Rose. You're a beautiful young woman and I love you as well."
She meant it from the bottom of her heart. They waved goodbye to one another and Lillian took some points from Slytherin. But after that she needed to just sit down and breathe. Mother? Love? Beautiful? She'd heard it said to her by Al before, but never by someone else. She felt like she was floating a bit. All her young adult life, she'd made horrible mistakes. She'd hurt Al horribly, had never been a proper mother to her. She'd always wanted to teach kids because she loved watching students grow, and it made up for not seeing her own child grow. But now, as she looked down at the small tearstain on her robe, she felt like she'd accomplished the goal. She was a mother to her students, a protector and someone to guide them. Not just to Rose, but she was truly keeping Rhiannon from her death. She sat around, silent for a while. It had touched her. Al had always been the one to truly be there, and she loved Al more than anything. But Rose had still made an impact, and she was grateful.
In return, she re-doubled her efforts. She would find out what happened to Rhi, and she would cure it, if possible. It was even possible that Rhi was getting possessed and it wasn't her who had attacked Rose. She wouldn't rest until she knew.

Headmistress Lillian Van Nikolai
Many hours later, long after Rose had left and late into the night, Lillian made a breakthrough. She had narrowed it down on a list. What it could and couldn't be. She had books in front of her about Dark Arts, Dark Magic, Horrible Spells, Things that turned you into monsters...some of them were so gruesome she could hardly bear to read them. Her list read;
What it can't be:
Vampire, no bloodlust or sunken features.
Werewolf, no bite or transforming.
Troll-blood, not a big build or correct facial structure.
Possessed, seems to be in own mind, no signs of a changing behavior, no dark spirit alive that can really do that as of today. Possibility?
Part hag or crone, no wizened apprearance, doesn't explain gleam in eye.
No fairy, goddess, centaur or pixie relation whatsoever, not evil creatures.
No part mermaid, kappa, or grindylow, no physical appearance relation to any of the three.
Not part giant blood, too small of a build.
No goblin or elf blood, also doesn't explain evil and dark cravings to such an extreme, and no physical traits of either.
Human: too evil to be human alone. Something is wrong and off balance.
The only possibilities were all horrible. None of them did Lillian want to believe to be true, and it was a fairly short list.
Horcruxes?
Cursed by dark magic, any permananet curse such as Imperius curse? ((May explain odd look in eyes?))
Living a half-life, Unicorn blood.
Another few hours and Lillian had her answer. It had to be the last one. The last one on the list. The one she hated the most because there was no cure. Even with Horcruxes, there was still hope if one felt remorse. But it couldn't be that because she knew deep down that Rhiannon hadn't yet torn her soul, hadnt murdered, or she would've been taken to Azkaban without question and wouldn't be given another chance. She couldn't be under the Imperius curse or she would be doing odd things. Plus, it didn't seem likely they would want her in Hogwarts, and if they did, then she wouldn't hate it here so much. If the controller's aim was to hurt, they'd have her making friends and getting people close and hurting them so her friends could back her up, make false alibi's, and so forth, creating a bigger mess. But unicorn blood...drinking it willingly...if she had drunk it against her will, it wouldn't have the same effect because she wouldn't have slayed the poor creature. She wouldn't have wanted the promise of living an inch from death that came with it. Bur Rhi did. She looked out the blackened window with dark shadows under her eyes.
"I know it, now...Rhiannon." She whispered.

Lillian paced around her office for a long time, until late into the evening when she fell asleep. She'd stayed up the whole night thinking about Rhiannon. She didn't want to believe it was unicorn blood and even tried to disprove her perfect theory. It couldn't be...maybe she was possessed after all? Deep down she knew it wasn't possible, but she tried to make justification for that as well. But it wasn't justification, she was just making excuses to run away from what she knew was true.
To drink unicorn blood is one thing, but to crave it, to want it, is another. To be condemmed is horrible, but to know it and not care is even worse. Was there no regret? If she had regret and didn't want to do it, she wouldn't have the side effects that drinking the unicorn blood gave. She found herself searching through books and tearing out pages just to repair the damage later, muttering,
"It can't be. It just can't be. I refuse to accept it."
She'd never been able to not help a student before, like this. Yes, students had been hurt when she was responsible for them, but never had anyone been injured or damaged beyond hope. She hung her head when sleep overcame her and faced the harsh reality. She'd never let it happen to anyone else...never would she let anyone reach the point Rhiannon had.

Toph Mellow Zoe Dylan..........................Third year Zoe knocked on the door of headmistress's office and waited for an answer. She did not know what was up with her family but they have sounded weird. So she had to check on it. Lillian took a deep breath and answered the door, feeling ready to collapse from tiredness. "Hello?" She said opening the door. "Oh, hello Zoe. How are you?" She sounded a bit relieved, she was grateful it hadn't been Rhiannon. She wasn't sure if she could face that little...girl? right now. She couldn't even say her name if she wanted to, she was so horrified by what Rhiannon had done. She would never get to redeem herself, that was the worst of it all.

Zoe looked at the headmistress who looked like she was about to collapse on Zoe. She was clearly tired- no exhausted. Sorry to disturb you at this hour professor, Zoe said looking up at her. but I wanted to ask if I could go home for a while. My family has sent a note that they'll pick me up from Kings Cross on Octomber the first. If a port key could be arran- Zoe stopped as she observed that the head mistress was unusually pale stare . erm.. are you OK professor?

Lillian nodded and pulled herself up a bit.
"Just had a long night." She sighed. "I'm fine. But sure, I'll arrange the portkey now and have it ready for you October first. Just come here and you can take it out in the morning."
She considered this for a moment. A bit odd though, so take your daugther home a few weeks already in the school year. Just to be safe...
"Perhaps a ministry official should go with you? I want to be sure you get with your family safely." She nodded. "Just for a little while. I'll have a professor or person from the ministry see you there safely. Anyways, I hope all goes well and I'll discuss it more with you October first, you can ask them when you can come back and send me an owl. Well...I'm going to get some rest. Goodnight, Zoe."
((Assuming that's all Zoe had to say XP ))
She waved goodbye and headed back into her office feeling ready to fall asleep on the desk. She quietly closed the door behind her and soon was asleep on a plush armchair.

neutral Good night! zoe said to the office door. And he turned and left muttering to herself, I don't need a baby sitter professor. Just the port key is enough.

Her left hand holding tight to the encased broomstick she was shouldering. A lightly packed bag on her back. She was good to go. Only the port key was missing. Zoe wondered if professor Nikolai even remembered their last talk. She had appeared to be preoccupied with something big. Nonetheless Zoe needed to go to Kings-cross. So here she was. Lillian opened the door to wait for Zoe moments after Zoe had already arrived. She was holding a tray with a small teacup on it. "Hello, Zoe! This teacup is the portkey. I know you're plenty old enough to go by yourself, but I just want to be sure you get there without any troubles. So I'll take the portkey with you and take it back when you meet up with your family." She smiled a bit, feeling kinda bad that Zoe probably thought her overprotective. Still, it could be some trap, they could be under the Imperius curse, who knows? Now that she found that pre-teens were capable of drinking unicorn's blood, she had to be a bit worried.

Zoe stared. Professor, It's OK. Knowing my family, it must be some ridiculous surprise party or something. May be my brothers' high school graduation celebrations. She said rolling her eyes. You don't need to take the trouble. I'll send an owl if anything's up. Zoe tried to touch the tea cup on the tray that the headmistress was holding.

As Zoe touched the tea cup Lillian also touched the rim of it so she felt the familiar jerk behind her navel and she was soaring with Zoe on the teacup. She knew Zoe was pissed but she didn't care. She was like an overprotective mother to her students at times, but she had to be. If anything happened to them, she'd be responsible to tell the parents. She wasn't about to just send her home without anyone there for her. If Zoe had a problem with that, tough.
