Regina caught up to Penny and glanced back behind him. "Somehow I have the feeling that if you had totally ignored him... he would have given it all up. But don't take my word on that, I liked your speach. I think it'll knock him down a couple inches."

She glanced at the posters and sighed. "This election is really making me regret the whole idea. I feel like I'll never get anywhere even if I do have ideas to improve the conditions here."

"Don't give it up, we're still there to help you." Penny said, surprised at Regina's sudden urge to give up. "Come on, you know you can do this. Or at least give it your best shot."

"Yeah... well, still." Regina lowered her voice. "We do have more important issues to discuss and keep our minds on. Like the Enquirer thing that was published. What if it's true?"

ooc: joint post between me and penny.

"Oh? What'd you find out?" Regina asked, looking at her own meal. "There is a reason I make my own lunch..." she muttered, paying more attention to Penny.

Penny smiled, "Well, I didn't tell you what happened in the Danger Room , did I? There was a point when I was disobeying orders of course and looked up at the deck. He actually had those stupid sunglasses off and was pretty not happy that i made eye contact with him. When I did, though, there was this HUGE telepathic push on my head. He's not joking around about not wanting to make eye contact with people."

She went on, "Anyway, apparently his mutant power on file and according to him is that eye contact causes the beholder the worst fear of their lives. It's caused people to kill themselves and s**t like that. It's some kind of forced one way telepathic thing that the poor guy can't shut off."

"Ouch..." Regina winced, feeling bad for him. "Sounds a lot like Rogue's ability, she can't turn it off just wear gloves."

"Gee thanks braniac." Rogue growled in response. "Point it out to the world..."

"Hey we all know and we still like you as a person. Chill." Regina looked back at Penny. "So what's up with tall dark and mysterious? that mean he's never had a girlfriend?"

Penny shook her head, "The only thing on file mentioned a girl named Chloe Randal. They lived together for a few years but whatever happend to her didn't say. He spent the last many years pretty much living like a hermit teaching with an online university so he didn't have to worry about his powers... oh, and he too, like our Morgan, was part of some government project. There's a special note in his file that Xavier is going to help him crack the manipulation of his powers... that's sick if they made his powers like that."

Regina frowned. "Logan was like that wasn't he? I mean, I know he had healing abilities but his skelton is not genetic..." She thought about that some and didn't wonder why he was so ticked off allt he time. "So if he taught at an online university... means he never taught for real. No wonder he has such social problems."

"Well, I'd probably have social problems too if looking at somebody wrong caused them to go insane. He was really freaked out by it. I felt really bad, at least, though I was the one that caught him off guard. Xavier probably reemed him out for it."

"I don't think I would have been able to take it if it had been me..." Regina said, looking at her sandwich thoughtfully. "I'm no telepath... or anything even close."

She shook her head, "No offense, but you wouldn't have. I'm sure if it was up close and personal, I wouldn't have either. Enemies beware."

"Freaky... Glad he's on our side. And I still think he's cute." Regina said wth a grin.

Penny just laughed, returning her attentions to her lunch.

"Hey, Morgan," Penny said and slid over to his table, "What's going on?"

"What do you think? More jocks being assholes as usual," He bit into his sandwich looking extremely pissed off.

She nodded, "There's been a share of that going around. Everybody's on eggshells around here. Nobody knows who is a mutant and who isn't and this place feels like it's going to explode."

"Point?" He asked.

"I wanted to smash in the head of AJ and his buddies today. Show them how they could eat their words, quite literally. The one thing that stopped me, aside from my moral conscience, were those kids back at the Institute that rely on us and look up to us. I'm not telling you how to fight your battle and I'm certainly not telling you to just take a punch and let it go... Just don't blow your cover as a mutant. If one of us blows it, these kids are going to be exposed too. They're not ready for that. "

"So we sit by and let the high school food chain get the better of us?"

Penny shook her head, "if you want to fight back, I respectfully ask that you do it in a way that can't be justified more than body building or being a black belt."

His eyes darting back and forth over the edge of the large dumpster, he continues to shove food into his large, powerful jaws, munching away at the remains that was trashed at the burger joint. "Ahh! Heaven! Now, if only I could find a...here we go!"

Dumping the left over of fries down into his mouth, he munches loudly again, before hearing the footsteps. Freezing, he stares at the small crack of the sliding door, watching two teenager workers heading toward him with a new back of garbage. Before he could move, the door slides open, allowing him to be smacked in the face with the new bags. Silent still, listening to them talking about some girls, he starts stiffing at the bag as they close the sliding door.

Then, waiting patiently for them to walk off, he smiles an bites into the plastic, ripping a large hole in the bag. "YUM! Second course!"

Jamie hopped into the seat next to Penny. He kept quiet when he heard Morgan ask her. He smiled at them both and took a bite out of his lunch, waiting to hear how she would respond. He hadn't asked if she was going yet, and he didn't know what Jacen had said.

OOC:I'm back for a little bit, I'm at my Uncle's house right now....

IC: Danielle was sitting down bored. She was really tired of hearing about the prom everyone was talking about. She was most likely not going to go. No one asked her, no one was; since she hadn't even been at the school a whole day. She certainly moved at a bad time, not like she had a choice.
She walked out in the hall, to get a drink of water from the water fountain. She pressed the button to the fountain, and all the sudden the water floated in the air. Danielle stared at it shocked for a minute, then it poured on her head. And that officialy made that day a bad day for her. She quickly looked around to see if anyone saw what had happened. No one was around, everyone was either in class, or lunch. She didn't really feel like going in the lunch room soaked. So she hung out by herself by the lockers.

OOC: I may or may not be on the rest of this week. Ya'll can still control my character.

ooc: mew... *watching the thread* what a day. got a good chunk of the organizing done. kitchen is well in place, room is looking like a bedroom and not just a lot of boxes, and well... i think the living room is tomorrow's task.

Regina looked at the two that had sat down. "Are you two going? is a better question."

"I heard you were going with Kurt." Rogue said offhandedly.

"Yeah, we're good friends. I think it'll be fun." Regina replied, yawning. "Oh, and miss penny here is going with Jacen. It'll be some couple." She grinned. She approved of the match up, not like it would matter to Penny but it'd give them some good girl gossip later.
