Strength's eyes snapped open when she heard the sounds of near-by artillery explode. She stretched slowly, listening as the sound faded away. Beside her she saw that Justice was awake as well.
"That sounded close. And too light to be conventional rounds. Maybe a grenade launcher?"
In either case, it was getting too hot for them to stay around much longer; they needed to hit the trails. She pulled her boots back on and laced them up. Strength let her consciousness roam out of her body, looking around to find a new sin for them to hunt. None too far away, she found a surprise.
"Wrath and Envy are back. But there's something...off...about Wrath. He doesn't feel...human."

Lucifer
Lucifer was in the war room again watching a holographic of the battle field. He could zoom in and pan around the field if he wanted. Right now he was watching the line of virtues hold against wave and wave of sin. They were holding through superior technology and tactics. He had already told Sloth to take control of the ground forces. Gluttony was still in control, but the rest of the forces were pounding against that wall of will mindlessly.
Sloth
Sloth sent out his strike team and soon the mindless masses of the dead sins were under control through fear. Sloth stood on a platform looking a little tired, but in control.
"You guys have wasted enough lives on that wall. Now we are gonna do it the right way. I want Lust and Pride Brigade to concentrate on the right flank. Avarice and Glut on the left. The rest of you are going to stay back and let the draw forces from the center. Get to it people." Sloth walked off the platform and went into a nearby tent to lay down.

Wrath
Wrath was picking through the remains of Wisdom and Courage with a smile on his face.
"Well then when we get the chance Strength and Justice should make a little better prey. Now then, we are to check in with Sloth. He says there are feral followers out here, lost and listless with out our brethren. Come one. ******** Sloth. We'll head to the main line and have some fun." Wrath turned and started going West.

Justice
Justice stood and stretched and felt that she was very correct.
"They must be using artifice bodies like ours. Just means he more easily focus his powers and not burn out the body, just like us." He peaked his head out the hole and then walked outside. He dropped at the sight of movement, a kid in a black stealth suit. He looked like he was searching for something.
"Strength there is a kid out here. He's wearing something a little more advanced than the rest of the followers. You think it's Wrath in his new body?" Justice hadn't realized the mental presence wasn't nearly big enough to be the manic sin.

"Oh?"
Strength peaked her head out to take a look at Lucias. She pulled back in after a few minutes of watching him.
"That's not him. Wrath is nearer the front then we are."
And that's pretty much all she could get out him. For some reason, he was shielding ridiculously hard. And it looked like he was extending it out over Envy as well. The only reason Strength even knew she was there was because of rumors circulating around the rest of the men.
"He's definitely looking for something though. Us, maybe?"

Envy
A bit of sparkle from a pile of flesh that had once been Courage caught Envy's eyes. She picked her way through the pieces of the corpse and retrieved a diamond and ruby encrusted bracelet.
"Huh."
She wiped off the blood and thicker things on the edge of her shirt and clipped it on. It looked nice on her. She followed Wrath back towards the front.
"Who do we kill? The ferals or the virtues?"

Avanish Lucias Mehar
Lucias was getting close, he could feel it. A bit of movement off to the right of him caught his eye and he looked quickly over there. Nothing moved. He frowned, wishing he was back with Viki again. It's a wild goose chase. Wisdom and Courage were the only ones out here. But still, was walking along, looking for something that wasn't there.

"Okay then, let's go get him. I'll run a distraction, you bag him." Justice didn't wait. He pulled out his pistol and ran from cover and shot to the left of the kid. Lucias snapped his head up and turned and ran towards Justice. Justice kept sprinting along the wall, till Lucias was just behind him. Now.

Wrath
"Whoever the ******** we want, whoever gets in our way." Wrath swung the rifle around and started walking at a brisker pace. He saw a person waling around, like one of his zombified followers. He looked through the scope and noticed it was one of Lust's follower. He swung the grenade launcher around and aimed, fired. Blood, gut and gooey mater sprayed the area around where the girl had been.
"Yeah. ******** b***h deserves to lose some followers." Wrath shoulder the launcher and walked forward.

Strength grabbed her rifle and Justice's as well and ran after the pair. She tossed his up in the air, fired two shots that found their home in Lucias's kneecaps and caught Justice's rifle on the way down. She approached the boy writhing on the ground in pain, her weapons held low.
"We can take him with us. See who sent him. Maybe even convert him?"
In reply, Lucias spat at Strength. It missed by a meter. She looked down at the youth.
"I wasn't talking to you. Your call, Justice."

Envy
Envy was gratified to see that Wrath was finally letting his more hateful side emerge. She just hoped that he didn't ruin it for all of them. She did not just get tortured for him to throw it all away because of a few of Lusts' floozy. She followed behind Wrath easy; here of there she'd take a shot and a loyalist would drop. Sin or Virtue, she didn't care. Just a stray bullet. Friendly fire and all that. She pulled the pin on one of her "smoke" grenades and tossed it near a fire pit where one of Glut's platoons were getting their food as the passed.
"Don't piss anyone off too badly, Wrath. Please."

"We'll take him with us, let Love get in his mind. It seems to be rewired from its original make-up. Complete devotion. I can see the laziness there, but it was buried under devotion." Justice slammed the butt of his rifle into the boy's face who blacked out a second later and Justice had him on his back.
"This will be a little harder carrying dead weight, but he may have insight into what is going on with the sins. They don't just send anyone to hunt Virtues." Justice let Strength take point and he followed struggling under the weight of the boy for a mere second and then adjusting and he was fine.

"I won't. Friendly fire is just a little bad." His rifle snapped up and a soldier wearing a badge of Courage dropped.
"Looks like his courageous bunch has decided to go find their whelp of a leader." He stopped and pressed his hand to his ear listening to radio contacts.
"Sloth has the forces split and attacking the flanks. That means they will lull in the middle. We can slip in and start killing Virtues. Hope, Love, and Compassion. Strength and Justice are still needed. Sloth still thinks he can convert them. What a load of farce." Wrath popped another few rounds dropping two or three soldiers, their allegiance unknown.

"Justice, let me carry the boy. You always were the weaker one."
Strength stopped and lifted Lucias from Justice and slung him across her shoulder easily. She dropped a glamour overherself so that she looked just like one of the "boys" from Gluttony's army; or more especially, so it looked like she wasn't carrying a human. She moved quickly and was mostly ignored by the menche. Strength paused thought at the rear of the front. Before they was, in all terms possible, a war zone.
"What now?"

Envy
Envy laughed. It really was funny, when you thought about it. A sin? Converting a virtue?
"What has Sloth been eating, shrooms? Next we'll hear that Lucifer has a three-headed dragon on a leash."
She laughed again and dropped three more soldiers before reloading her assault rifle. They were getting close to one of the few quiet zones; perfect for sneaking across.
