"See? It was a good idea after all." Said Eric, indeed he did not know what was coming to him. The knight was too busy encouraging Firin to notice.
---------------
Belandra was about to continue with gathering her things until she saw that the Paladin had also arrived. She was going into the water too? Perhaps she could work her magic from her once more by channeling it through the magic stream. Today, she would not only have her witches, but her Valkyries.
Little did she know, things weren't entirely going to plan for her there. Two of the paladin's children carried a divine protection and were unaffected by the sorceress's meddling. Fortunate for Firin as there would now be a battle for space with most of them growing wings in her already filled womb.

Mina looked up from her civil war belly as she saw Roxanne motion to her and then to Eric. She grinned and sunk into the water as well. She slowly moved towards Eric, waiting behind some for Roxanne to strike first. Mina suddenly shot up in the water, letting out a loud eep before falling back into the water. When she surfaced again she looked around in a panic. "snakesnakeIthinkthere'sasnakeinthewater!" She babbled in fear.

The paladin was up in a flash despite being relaxed, her warrior insticts still at its peak. She noticed what the candle witch was referring to. It wasn't a snake but an eel. "Mina, thats just an eel, not a snake" Firin said with a laugh before settling down in the water again."

Leon was back in his own lair after dealing with those Belandra has wished him to deal with. The death knight pulled his armour off for the first time in days. After all it weighed him down, as he was still human in a way.
"Ryvus, you two are working for that witch, but why..." The evil knight muttered to himself as he handed his armour to an undead servant, formerly a hobgoblin to have it cleaned, "Make sure its spotless and fix any dents" he commanded as he made his way to his workshop.
Pulling out an ancient book, he turned to work his magic. To him, the only comfort that his two "partners" gave him, was that they would serve him in either life, or death.

Her sneak attack ruined by Mina flipping out, Roxanne peeled off the attack before Eric noticed what had been about to happen to him and retaliated. "An eel? In a stream? Theres no way one of those should or could be this far inland." Roxanne commented, swimming over to Firin and snatching the snake-like creature from the water again before it could escape. "A water snake at least fits our surroundings..." She adds, holding the creature behind its head so not to get bitten but also so she could inspect it closer. (I haven't a clue what Zero planned on with this snake so figured we'd keep it in play till she posted again.)

Mina poked her head out of the water. "I know a snake when I feel one and that thing had scales!" She called out to the paladin. She continued to try and move backwards, not wanting to be near a loose snake. When she saw Roxanne catch it she smiled, feeling safer and moving closer. Once she got close enough she examined the snake wriggling in Roxannes hands. "Energetic little fella." She said, moving away a little as it whipped around, trying to get free. Nina let out a small gasp. "Roxanne grab it's tail!" She shouted, having spotted something on its body. She wasn't able to get a good look with the snake wiggling around as it was.

Seeking a way to immobilize the creature better, Roxanne did as Mina asked and grabbed the snake's tail, effectively pulling it taut like one would do with a piece of rope. Despite its slick body and wriggling the snake could do nothing by flail as long as Roxanne maintained her grip on the base of its skull.

Mina leaned in some to get a better look. She would jump back slightly each time it twitched towards her. "look at the scales, they're shaped like runes." She said, pointing to some of the scales on the side of the snake. It was mostly just magical giberish, meaning it was a wild snake not a domestic one. "There must be a source of magic near by if these guys are slithering around." Mina took a few steps back, then several more. "ok, you can let it go." she said.

"I sensed magic flowing through this stream when we first entered it," Roxanne added, taking a closer look at the snake herself. "But to do this it would take a much more powerful source." Turning the snake about in her hands to get a look at all the runes that covered it, Roxanne voiced her thoughts. "I wonder if the magic that has seeped into this snake is tappable... Hold this Eric." She says, carefully handing the knight the snake the same way she'd be holding it. (Could use the snake as conduit for waking up Eric's magical talents Shade. 3nodding )

"Maybe there's something under the surface that's giving the stream it's magic." Eric swam forward to Roxanne, unsure what she wanted with him and this snake. He looked at the snake soon after it being handed to him. The knight never saw a snake with runes on it before.
"What do you want me to do with this snake?" He asked Roxanne.

"A good thought but no." Roxanne replied, waddling towards the shore to retrieve her staff. "If there was something in the bedrock it would be stronger in certain places than others, plus if one of us found it I'm sure we would bloat up in a heartbeat as whatever we carry absorbed the magic. "Where ever this magic is coming from, its coming from the source of this stream." Roxanne added, shivering as a cold breeze brushed across her naked body. Grabbing her staff, she quickly retreated back into the warmth of the stream.

"Don't seem to be bloating up now though..." He said as he gave the three a poke each as if he was checking the freshness of produce. They've been soaking in it for awhile too. "Source of the stream you say."
Eric then began to feel light headed. His eyes became black as tar. A urge to kill suddenly arose within him. Of all people, it would be Roxanne and Firin to be his targets of choice. He grit his teeth, Eric was fully aware of what was happening, but was trying his best not to let whatever this was control his thoughts and actions.
"Paladin scum, cursed Warlock..."

Eric's hand poking her belly awakened the children within her causing her belly to wriggle till Firin's hands calmed them. "I can sense... something though its not definite like just a hint of arcane energy." The paladin muttered as she settled back into the stream, closing her eyes as she did. She just wanted to relax and the slightly enchanted water seemed to be doing it. Normally she'd just like to take a hot bath at an inn, but when it called for it free was always better.
She thought she could hear a growl sort of a feral animal, but there stood Eric, his hands bared ready to strike. He obviously didn't look like he was feeling well but when his eyes turned black, Firin knew something wasn't right.
"Roxanne, get away from him!" Firin shouted at the warlock as she readied herself for the party's defense. Without her armour and sword she did not felt defenseless and her training would have to pay off.

Holding her staff ready for a spell, Roxanne backpedaling away from Eric as fast as she could. It wasn't until she stopped moving that she too noticed what Firin had seen.
"Is the snake doing something to him?" She asked, worry creeping into her voice, although everybody else would see it as pre-combat jitters rather than concern for a person she liked.

The snake coiled around his left arm. Indeed it had something to do with what was going on with Eric. He was uncertain who to go for, he hated both all the same for this point for reasons unknown to him. He went for Roxanne, as she was the one currently armed. He dove underneath the water with the intention of pulling her under with him.

With no answer forthcoming, Roxanne assumed yes would be the correct answer to her question. Backpedaling into shallower waters, she lashed out in Eric's direction with her staff in hopes that the talons atop the end would cut the snake from Eric's arm or at least slow his advance.
"Kill the snake, its doing something to Eric!"
