Tsubasa looked at Phimi with his tongue hanging out of his mouth as he panted. She looked like she had a harder time running.... that and she sounded like it. He smiled and nodded. "Yeah. Now we just have to wait for the wind to push them to me. They'll end up by me somehow." He said finally catching his breath, "I take it you don't run often."

She giggled. "I guess... we can't get... away for too... long." At his observation, Phimi hung her head in embarassment. Was she that obvious? "Uh, no... I don't" She said softly.

Tsubasa laughed and nodded. "Yeah I guess we can't get away. It was fun to try though." He said as a feather began rolling towards him. He looked at her as she hung her head and spoke softly. "Well that's fine. Some people don't like to run while others just can't. I'm sure you'll get faster and able to go longer without panting so much. You just need practice." He smiled kindly at her trying to let her know that it was okay that she doesn't run.

She gave him a small smile as her tail curled close around herself. "I should be able to though. Especially since I'm this far- from... the..." Her eyes widened. She was so far from the safety of the house!! Her eyes flashed, searching through the woods. "Can- can we head back to the house?" She asked in a small, shaking voice.

"Should be able to what? Run?" Tsubasa asked confused. He wasn't sure if she was still talking about running or had somehow ended up on a different subject. "Sure we can go back towards the house. The feathers will just get us sooner." He said walking towards the house, "But tell me.... if you don't mind. Why are you so hooked on the house all of a sudden? Is something wrong with the trees and woods?"

She nodded slightly, confirming that she should indeed be able to run. She backed away from the woods eagerly, eyes twitching at every shadow. "Woods are bad. They hide things. Mean things. Evil things." She whispered as if afraid to speak too loud, ears flat as she continued walking backward.

Tsubasa stopped to look back at Phimi. He gave her a confused look. "Woods aren't bad. Sure there may be bad things in them but the woods themselves aren't bad. And usually the bad things are only in certain places. If you avoid those places you can avoid the bad things." He said starting to frown, "And whose to say that the bad things won't go out of the woods. They go wherever they please so if you're worried about staying away from them, there's no guarantee. It's just part of life."

Phimi shook her head. "I didn't mean the woods themselves. I meant what's in the woods." Her eyes went wide. "You mean they can get me in the house?!" She had to slow to a fast walk since her body had started shaking, now watching the house as if it were a large monster ready to eat her the moment she was close enough. Her quick heavy breathing was no longer just from running. Couldn't she be safe anywhere?!

Tsubasa looked at Phimi and saw her shaking. Great. He had scared her even more about something that already frighten her. "Yes they can but most don't. They usually stick to where they live. Don't worry about it." He said wondering why she was so scared, "You have to realize that not everyone is bad. And those who are bad aren't always out to get you. Some bad people only go after certain people or only go after others in certain places. Anyways.... around here the safest place is the house here. No one likes to cause problems in the house. It's a safe haven for everyone even those who are bad." He began walking towards the house again hoping that he had calmed some of her fear.

Phimi tried to cling to Tsubasa's first few sentences. The bad ones usually stay where they are... They usually don't leave home... She froze though at a few more words. "The bad ones can go inside and be safe? But-!" What if one of those things went in there? What if they were still searching for her?! What if they were inside right now, staking out a good place to kidnap her again?!
She crouched down to her stomach and covered her eyes with her paws, breathing heavily through her nose, reverting to her childhood coping mechanism.

Tsubasa had walked a couple of feet ahead of Phimi before realizing that she wasn't right behind him. He turned around to look at her and sighed. He walked back to her and nudged her with his nose. "Yes they can but like I said, they usually don't cause any trouble while in the house. It's kinda like how in the old days people could go into a church and claim sanctuary and be safe from everyone else. They can go into the house and be safe but they can't do anything while they're there." He said, "What I want to know is why it bothers you so much."

She lifted one paw a crack, peeking out at Tsubasa. "They- they can't do bad stuff in there?" She uncovered her eyes, lifting her head slightly to look at the house.
Then her eyes dropped to the ground as if she were ashamed of something. "I..." 'Come on Phimi. Make mom proud.' "I was... pupnapped, as an infant. By a really mean pack. Along with my siblings." Her head started to droop again. 'See? Was that so hard? Now he knows what you let happen.'

Tsubasa nodded finally growing smart and not opening his mouth on that subject anymore.
"You were pupnapped?" He said pausing, "That must have been hard. But if you were an infant and they got all of your siblings then it couldn't be your or your siblings fault." He had a feeling that would make her feel better and stop her from being all droopy. "I mean you guys were just puppies. Little ones can't be expected to defend themselves against grown ups, right?" He said pausing. He think he knew this really mean pack but kept quite on it. Didn't want to scare her again.

Phimi shrugged noncommitaly. Of course he wouldn't understand. She could have done... something! At very least she could have hidden herself. Not that she would have expected any other puppies to do that. And entirely beside that point... where had her birth parents been? Absent, which said something else about her.
She got up silently and started walking to the house with her tail tucked down.

Tsubasa watched Phimi as she walked away. He was wondering what was bothering her still. Shaking his head he trotted after her. "Phimi. What's the matter? You know you don't look good being all gloomy like this. A.... What was that saying Madoc likes to tell Eirwen.... Oh! A lady always looks her best when smiling! The same goes for you. You look best when smiling." He said smiling at her.
