One of the spirits grinned back at CJ. "Alright. After this we should well make our quota. We'll be able to have a nice, long vacation." he said. Then he carefully pointed towards the door that CJ had turned into a flat bug zapper. It clacked loudly, then slowly slid open. Pushing the man that lay on the floor back across the hall as it opened.

The other men that were standing in the hallway stared at the door, then inside. The first thing they noticed was the late doctor lying on the floor. And then the only other visible being in the room, CJ.

"I will do my best to locate them, Madam." Alfred replied from the other end of her communicator.

"Let me guess, he's on one of the floors that the big man has all his customer friendly guards on?" Electro replied from the other end of the comm. "Alright, I'll see if I can find him before he gets too far."

Yuriko quickly text to Electro to last known location of Aiden, so that Dillon can confront the mad Irishman, [The Irishman is on the 47th floor causing a ruckus near Elevator E. Have fun.] Lady Deathstrike did not speak, because she didn't know exactly where Batwoman was. The Japanese assassin stayed cloaked in shadow awaiting for the Bat's appointed arrival thinking, At your convenience, 'Huntress' or whatever you are calling yourself now...

Oncaro
Yuriko is awaiting Brenda's convenience... hehehe.

((A role I LOVE having him ******** yeah! Grim Reaper!!"

C.J. . . . don't get too cocky. After all. We gotta get US outta debt.

"Right . . . I'm SO gonna have a talk with Misty about this when I get out."

Don't you mean "IF"?

"Nobody asks if I die, I ain't gonna croak."

((We didn't ask if the doctor was gonna go . . . just FYI))

*gulp*

C.J. looked at the others. "Some days, I REALLY wish I had a gun!" he growled to himself . . . then looked at the mooks. "Just give up, guys." he said before eying his surroundings. Plenty of torture devices . . . hmm. We can use something with this . . . hey, I got an idea. That door stripped a few wires loose off that torture thingy. I think we're in an area with lots of metal.

"Whaddaya getting at?"

I'm saying we can make a BIGGER bug zapper!

"Nah, we already used that joke. Let's light something on fire!"

Okay!

C.J. darted and started chucking fist-fulls of scalpels like darts at the bad guys with a cry of "HADOUKEN!!" before looking around, trying to find . . . wait, just WHAT are you trying to find? Let's just set the room on fire!

"NO! I got a plan!"

Electro headed through the buildings electrical system towards the location that Yuriko had instructed. By now, the Irishman had probably taken out most of the Kingpin's non-lethal guards. If he was on the "Public friendly" floor, the guards were non lethal, and minimal.

The man would only have another moment or two before Electro would arrive.

============================================================

At the mention of a gun, the guards standing before Cj's room seemed to remember that they DID have guns. They each pulled their revolvers out of their holsters and aimed them at CJ. Only a few had a chance to shoot at the man before they needed to move for cover to avoid the flying scalpels.

As it turned out, Aiden was, in fact, nearly finished with the guards, who it seemed were holding back for a reason he couldn't identify. He didn't really bother to try, however, and settled for just breaking heads with his fists.

Meanwhile, Brenda was silent as the elevator she was in continued to head down... right past the floor Yuriko had thought she'd stop at, and down below to the sub-basement level, where the power grid was located. Once the doors opened, Brenda was more or less a shadow, moving to the nearest dark vantage point and quickly locating a large mass of switches and blinking lights on the other side of the room. Apparently, the Kingpin hadn't bothered to renovate or improve upon a design that he had already deemed efficient enough. His loss.

Brenda moved silently, scanning the area to see that, thankfully, she was alone on the floor. Good. That made things that much easier. She moved over to the power grid and briefly looked over the various switches. If she wanted to, she could just flip switches and push buttons at random, and that would achieve her ends anyway. But she was looking for something more specific... Turning things off one at a time, both for a psychological factor and to try to isolate where Misty was. So she got to work... And one by one, floor by floor, the lights of Fisk Towers began to turn off. She kept her own elevator active, as well as a few isolated others for easy transport, while most others were brought to sudden halts. This would trap those inside them, though judging by her access to the base schematics, most of the elevators were empty, and thus simply wouldn't respond to commands to open.

Not all of Fisk Towers was brought offline, however; she left things like air conditioning on, and more casual areas, such as where the public was allowed to be, were mostly left intact apart from the lights turning off. What Brenda did not yet realize was that Electro was present in the building, and while he could use his own power to override all of the offline parts of the building, and thus turn them back on... this would considerably weaken him, since he wouldn't be able to maintain a serious level of personal power while simultaneously trying to power the entire building.

Once she was satisfied that she could move unimpeded and locate Misty in one of the trapped elevators, Brenda turned on her heel and proceeded to walk back to her elevator, activating her earpiece.

"Do you have anything yet?" she asked Alfred, her tone low.
PostPosted: Thu Aug 15, 2013 4:17 pm

Suddenly the lights went out where Yuriko had been laying in wait. Deathstrike's eyes widened in surprise from Brenda's move to kill the power to parts of Fisk's building. "Kosu!!" Yuriko cursed out loud, as the temperature dropped rapidly with the air conditioning still on and no counter-acting heat from the building lights in the affected sections. The Japanese assassin's mind worked furiously to come up with a solution -- and quickly come up with one, "Electro! If you haven't started fighting the Irishman yet, kindly go find the source of the power outage in the building. I'll wager that THAT is our bat! Find where power has been cut, and I'll teleport to your location. Then... We'll confront this 'bat' ourselves. The Irishman can wait."

Bullets zinged past C.J. as he ducked behind another torture device. One barely missing his head by INCHES. "Y'all can't hit the broad side of a barn!!" he hissed as he found a vial.

DANGER:

Powerful Acid. Do not apply on skin.

C.J., I don't think that'll work.

"We defy logic all the time. SURELY you know not to say that!"

True . . .

C.J. took the top off the vial and sniffed it. Sweet! This oughta be potent. He thought and put the top back on, sneaking from his cover spot to get closer.

"I may have something, Miss." Alfred replied over the comm. "Whatever security system this Flisk is using rather dislikes any sort of outside contact. I've just managed to get visuals on the rooms (ones that aren't pitch black now...) and am scanning through each level. Three forths of the building seem to be irrelevant for what you need. Your friend Aiden is having no trouble going through the hallway. There is a rather large man in a large office at the very top of the building." Alfred explained. Then there was a slight pause as his tone grew curious.

"There is, however, three rooms that are of interest. One looks like a hospital wing. There is an ex-ray on the table that I can't quite make out, and an uncomfortable amount of blood on the bed. A few levels down, there does appear to be a woman strapped down to a moving table with a few guards moving her towards the hallway. She's covered in a blanket, but she appears to be with child. And there is a secret floor between the top office and the next accessible floor down. There is a man standing in what looks like a torture room zzith zz guarzzzz zzzhootingzzzzat-" Alfred continued.

Then the transition grew static, and his voice was drowned out. Strange... because very few things should be able to interfere with the Bat Cave's communication system.

The reason, unfortunately, became quite clear barely a few seconds later. Exposed wires, plug outlets, lights, and nearly any other bit of electrical outlet began to hum. Then the outlets began to spark. The lights flickered for a moment, then grew far brighter than they were ever meant to be. Something was happening to the power in the basement. More specifically it was happening to the area around the control box. And whatever it was, it was coming in fast.

===============================================

"Should we join in?" one of the beings asked, grinning from ear to ear. "They can't see us, but we can go about physical contact if we truely want. It could be like that... oh what was that American movie the Master had expressed fondness for?" the man mused. "Final something or rather."

"The human needs to do the killing, not us." the other man replied. "Let's just see how this plays out."

"Alfred? Alfred!" Brenda said into her comm, but she couldn't get anything but static. Annoyed, she wheeled around to see the odd electrical surges, and her eyes widened a bit behind her cowl, before narrowing in that analytical manner that said that she was thinking of possibilities for why this had happened. As she was unaware of Electro's presence, she assumed it was Livewire, or perhaps some other electrical-based villain she knew of, preparing to come through... and she slowly began backing to one of the few darkened corners of the room... but not to hide.

It didn't take long for Electro to emerge from the building's electrical system. The outlets and lights around the control box sparked until a pure bolt of electricity sprang from outlet to the lights. The bolt remained there for a second, then a second bolt sprang towards the cement floor. Chunks of concrete bounced into the air as the bolt smashed into the ground, charring the ground around it. The line of pure energy grew, sending smaller currents of energy surging around it. The shape of a man soon took form within the large bold, and a few moments later, Electro was standing in the center of the charred and smoking circle the bolt had created on the floor.

With his energy lighting up the entire room, it didn't take him very long at all to find the woman in black standing across the room from him. A small smirk made it's way across his face as sparks continued to fly from his eyes.

"Found her." he said outloud. Knowing that Yuriko would pick up on it thanks to the currents of energy still flowing through the outlets. "She's in the basement."

Brenda narrowed her eyes behind her cowl as she watched Electro's flashy entrance, and once he appeared, she recognized him from the files she had read on the Batwave.

"And now you're going to sleep." she said, her tone deadpan, before she casually moved her arm over to the fire alarm right next to her and activated it. An alarm rang out over the sub-basement, and water from the sprinklers came down in a rainfall-like torrent, coating the area around them, and cascading onto both Brenda and Electro. Unfortunately, only one of them actually have protection from electric shocks in this case, since the water would fry Electro enough to knock him out for a good while.
PostPosted: Mon Aug 19, 2013 2:59 pm

Electro didn't have much time to react. He looked up just in time for the water to rain down. He screamed, and the electricity that he still had flowing about surged as the water hit it. The room lit up like a sparkler, sending bouts of electricity flowing throughout the room.

Only for a moment though.

Within seconds, the light faded, and the electricity became non-existant. The man slumped to his knees before collapsing onto the ground. Out cold.

User Image As Electro did actually predict, Lady Deathstrike got his message about the basement. And with a moment of concentration, Yuriko keyed up the HYDRA teleport ring to port to the location....

The expert assassin was a little surprised by the active sprinklers, as her eyes fell on the now shorted out Electro. Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, Yuriko began to size up her opponent in front of her moving out of the shadows, "Interesting move, Helena... if I don't miss my guess. Anyway, Huntress or Batwoman or whatever you are calling yourself, it doesn't matter. You are annoying my employer, and I have had a very long day." With that Yuriko unsheathes her long adamantium claws standing in an easy stance ready to move in almost any direction for the coming fight. Internally, the Japanese cyborg mentally reviewed known tactics and equipment within the Bats repertoire from what Yuriko had earlier gleaned from an old JLA database she had hacked into -- revealing various strengths and weaknesses of the heroes listed.

Instead of looking Batwoman in the eyes, Yuriko was reading body movement for insight as to what the dark knight may do -- but she didn't wish for Brenda to come up with a calculated plan action so.... Yuriko closed the distance with three experimental slashes to gauge her opponent. Even though these are measured strikes were swift, they may or may not strike or glance Batwoman; however, Yuriko's true goal was to neatly sever the utility belt around Brenda's waist with her fourth attack.....

"So THAT'S how you defeat Electro!!"

Well, of course! What'd you think would take 'im down? Optic blasts?!

" . . . yes . . ."

*Facepalm* UGH! I knew you were dumb before, but OY!!

((HEY!!! Focus you two! She's down there!!))

C.J. slid around the area and popped the cork off. He had one shot . . . deciding to freak 'em out, he dropped a battery in there (I guess he wanted more acid. I don't freaking know what he does!!) and threw it on an arc for the guards' heads.

As Lady Deathstrike appeared and said her piece, mistaking Brenda for Huntress-- which would have been amusing in any other situation-- the Batwoman took a wary, combat-ready stance as she, too, mentally went over files she had read regarding Deathstrike; she was one of the most formidable martial artists of the other universe, and not to be taken lightly.

Brenda parried the first few strikes with her gauntlets, the sharpened fin-like attachments serving to deflect the blows of Yuiko's claws, and by the time the fourth strike came, Brenda backed up just enough for the strike to avoid hitting her utility belt by millimeters. It took a fraction of a moment for Brenda to realize that that wasn't a random strike, and that Yuriko was likely trying to go for the belt itself. Determined not to let this happen, Brenda decide that she might need to play a little dirty if push came to shove; and she didn't have time enough to play around. So, as the water continued to fall down around them, Brenda moved her gloved hand and essentially slapped some of it toward Yuriko's eyes, hoping to temporarily blind her enough for Brenda to improvise a plan of action to take Deathstrike out of the equation.
