An evil grin spread across Opehlia's face.
"I always have to clean up your messes, don't I Horatio?" She huffed as the Shinigami Horatio wanted made an attempt to get at her.
She was still in her Ressurection form and this unseated shinigami tidbit thinks he could hurt her. She snorted.
"Capa Imponente!" She shouted, her electricty wreathing itself around her in a suit type of fashion. His Bakuto bounced off her, merely pushing her back a little.
He aimed for the tree, dissappering in the branches above her.
"Fine then. I'll blast you out." She snarled, bringing her hand up, briefly charging a Cero.
"Cero!"
The Cero beam blasted from her outstretched hand to the tree where Charles had aimed for.

(( I would politely point out that I was not leaping at you, Sabertooth . . . My leap was towards the tree's lower branches. I do not dispute your power, or that you could deflect/block the bakudo, but the autohit does not work if you are assuming a difference than the post I made. ))

(( Not only was it understandable, I appreciate your efforts and willingness to change. Thank you, Sabertooth. ))
Momentum saved him.
His original intent was to use both momentum and gravity to help him strike, but the moment his hand grabbed a sturdy branch and his body flung forward a blast of energy fires just in front of him. Like dust in the face of a tornado, the blast removes leaves and wood without any effort. This is a mixed blessing, for while it shakes him up the path before him is now cleared.
Still under training, his mind barely has time to register the change, but his grip on his zan reverses from an outward blade to a downward one. As his left arm screams from the strain, his right punches upward from his perspective as his legs thrust forward and out. Like a gymnast on a bar, his body swings down and forward with great force. A flash of light can be seen as his blade slashes at Ophelia's arm and shoulder. The head is an obvious target, but the shoulder can be more damning. If he is to have any chance, he has to think differently.
Something Charles Takena excels at.
Releasing the branch after a full 360, his momentum lets him fly a good 15 feet away. Landing on his feet, he looks over his shoulder unable to register if his blade even did any damage at all to the Arrancar. Whether he did damage to her or not, her electrical field stings his entire sword arm, and it is a slightly numbing pain. If anything, Charles is glad that he is holding on to his blade still. One thing is certain- he has her attention. With Horatio centered on catching him, and Ophelia likely mad, others have a better chance as long as he is bait. "Run-run-run, as fast as I can. Hope you don't catch me, I'm no gingerbread man!"
As he begins to run off through the trees, a faint pulse comes from his zan. In the passion of the moment, Charles doesn't register the source but leaps up into the trees, zipping back and forth with an erratic path. They are faster than he, but without a set course, they won't be as able to catch him . . . he hopes.

Suddenly as Horatio had appeared he had vanished again, like a puff of smoke, the wavery image before them was a mirage, swapped with the real Horatio sometime ago. Each of the hollows that poured from each gate moved, and looked the same way... each of them wavery, out of the several gates a single long whip shaped tendril lashed out extending towards Charles. Horatio's voice echoed from each of the gates. "Snag Charles, Leave the rest Ophelia! Deal some dammage if you want!" Each gate Horatio's arm extended from it, suggesting that all but one gate was the real one, the rest a mirage.
Each "mirage hollow" that was struck or came into contact with anything solid, it would burst in a lashing flame scorching whichever shinigami struck it.

Shaking his head and looking up into the sky, Maxi sighs deeply. "What can you do when right after you save them, they just run back into the fray." His hand rests lightly on the hilt of his sword as he watches a cloud drift by slowly. Switching his attention to the sudden appearance of his wife, Maxi teleports next to her and places his hand on her head. "Miss me?" His smile warms as he looks down at her.
Snapping his attention back to Charles as the arrancar extends his arm threw the portals, Maxi pulled his Kidou caster from his coat and let loose a #54 shell in front of the extending arm. The blast slowly expands into a disc shaped flame blast reaching 2 feet wide as it reaches the arrancar's hand. "I do so hate it when they cant play by my rules." Maxi mutters and ejects the spent shell.

Marco stayed far enough away for Charles and his combatant to take no notice of him whatsoever. He was conflicted; although he wanted to help, Marco wanted to see what Charles was capable of before he interfered. So far, Charles had done a good job of impressing him. He talked very sheepishly when it came to combat, but in action...
He isn't as bad as he makes himself sound. He hit an arrancar, which is much more than I had come to believe he could do... based on what I heard. I'm not sure how long he will we able to hold his own, but he is fine for the moment.
Marco wanted to check on Victoria, having heard her scream... but he remembered Maxi was back, so he decided to stick to his original task. Protecting Charles. So he kept close... watching and waiting for his new companion to call on him.

Charles hit on her shoulder did little more than crack her Hierro.
Opehla spat. That Captain would disentegrate Horatio. She dashed forward, firing cero after cero laced with her electricty powers right at the shot Maxi had fired.
Her blasts were strong enough to veer the bullet kido off course, so that it missed Horatio by inches.
"Hurry up Horatio! I don't want to be saving your lazy butt every two seconds!" She snapped.
This was getting out-of-hand. here, just an innocent arrancar looking for a nice meal and chaos breaks out. Whatever. She growled, positioning herself in front of Maxi, far enough away though so that he couldn't strike her or fire anything at her without her being able to dodge.
"Come on Captain! Try and get me!" She jeered.

"Crap . . ." Charles stops jumping around like mad when he realizes no further attacks are coming at him. His swordarm still stinging, he dares to pause and look around. The Arrancar he had attacked is now focused on the new arrival. Daring him. She was supposed to concentrate on him so the more powerful shimigami could get her. Charles narrows his eyes and alters his plans.
Hoping that his erratic pattern from before will provide some cover for now, he races directly at the Arrancar through the trees. Once back at the blasted tree, he fires his favored bakudo again, this time at closer range. "Hyapporankan!!!" The same rod of energy leaps from his hand, and shortly detonates to hit Ophelia like reiatsu buckshot.
He also notices that her electric field is either missing or weaker, and this time leaps like a spear at her, his sword leading the way. Aiming at her core, his is either going to hurt her a great deal . . . or him. There is no way to block or dodge once midair.

((Now you throw yourself at her right? No tres this time? >.< ))
"This little tidbit can't get enough of me, eh?" She chuckled, turning around the face him. Indeed her Shining Coat was weaker from firing the multiple Cero blasts with the electricty infused with it.
Charles fires the same bakudo at her. Once Again. She chuckles, darting forward herself, right into the oncoming bakudo.
It shoves her back, her bare feet skidding across the ground, tearing up clumps of soil as she went. She had thrown her arms up at the last minute and they were enough to block the blow.
As she lowered them, Charles was in front of her, aiming his blade at her again.
Opehlia's brow wrinkled slighly and she flicked up her clawed hands, still coated with her electric infused zanpakto.
Horatio didn't want him killed, but he could be bruised up a little.
As his momentum propelled himself right at her, she ducked low, swiping at him from below before pushig forward to grab at him.
((You can decide whether or not she gets you. ))

(( I am not supersoldier, and a hit was inevitable. You are correct this time, it was a straightforward attack and in midair, I left it to you to either notice and dodge, or remain focused on Maxi and get hit. ))
Overconfidence is a fatal flaw, and so is lack of forethought. Time seems to slow down for Charles for just a moment before impact. Again his bakudo was absorbed without major incident. Charles had sorely hoped that this one would be too preoccupied to turn and face him, but such is not to be. Committed to the flight, even though his blade is leading, he realizes how screwed he really is.
Without time to articulate what is fast becoming his favorite term, his sword leading, his target both dodges and counters. Removing her body from the light of attack, and bringing up her charged weapons, nothing stops his sword from getting a full blow of the claws. His only defense was to try and desperately reverse the hold on his blade, and he only barely avoided a killing strike. The claws scratch his skin and rip a set of tears in his sleeve. What is more damning is the charge they carry. Parried with a metal instrument doesn't help either.
The charge causes his body to jerk, losing what little control he had in the flight. As he deals with fire streaking across his body, he lands with a hard thump into the ground and a long groan of pain.
Despite the danger of the situation, Charles is forced to take a long moment to recover by gripping his blade as hard as he can and just curl into the fetal position. "Oooooooooohhhhhh . . . that did so not go as I planned . . ."

Watching amused as his blast is diverted, Maxi lowers the gun and tucks it back into his coat. As he does this Charles moves in to strike Ophelia and again fails partially, but leaves an opening for Maxi that he would use to turn organs to explosives. "Turning your back on me was ill advised little kitten. If you think distance is the key to avoiding me, your about to be one fried kitty." His voice a harsh whisper. He raises his left hand and traced a green circle in the air, intersecting lines appearing as his moves his hand around the small circle. The outline begins to spin clockwise slowly speeding up, then launches out at Ophelia's exposed back. If it struck he it would cause no physical damage, but would cause the organ or artery closest to the entry spot to dissolve.

(Blah.... I'll try to post more often for this little scheme to work..)
Several of the mirage hollows, mixed in with a small number of hollows began to decent towards Maxi. Mirage and real, Horatio's arms that extended from the several gates turned towards Maxi, palm already extended the palms glowed during Maxi's hand turning of the disk. Horatio Released a cero tied in with all the fakes. The Cero was charged enough to deal quiet a bit of damage to the Captain, and was fired just as the Captain of 12th squad hurled his disk shaped object. Timing was key. Little by little the air in the atmosphere heightened again. "Hurry up! I can't keep these false mirages going on forever!"
Around one of the gates the earth began to crumble and cave into itself, Horatio's irritation began to show.

((Don't worry Raccoon, you're not the only one that hasn't posted in awhile. :/ I'm really disliking school about now...))
As soon as his hand touched her head the pain was gone. Victoria didn't have to move, look up at him, or even listen to his comment to know that her husband was back and that everything was going to be okay. Well, sort of.
Their reunion was short. Seconds later Maxi pulled out his kidou caster, and in the same instant Victoria shifted to move behind him to get out of the way and look out from his other side. "Oh jeez, I really need to figure out what's going on here." She mumbled as she took a quick look around. Marco was off to the side and safe, Charles had been beaten to a pulp by an arrancar, and another arrancar was summoning hollows, making mirages of hollows, and to her not so pleasant surprise, firing a Cero right at her and Maxi. Summoning her shield, Victoria shunpoed from behind Maxi and appeared in front of him positioning herself a few feet away. Pulling up her shield with one hand, she held her chain ready in her other hand. "It would be really nice if this Cero took out some of the mirages when it reflects." She prayed and braced herself for any recoil.
