I don't think I've ever been to a town, so I don't really have a point of reference, lol. Only big cities, suburbs, and country.

I live in a small town now, but it's small only in population. It spans quite a bit in area, making it hard to know everyone.

Everyone knows everyone where I'm from. There's only 800 people there, so even if you don't know them by name, you can recognize their faces and such.

I live in Fairfax County, pop. 1 million. So it's kinda hard to know everyone, lol.

If you want to know what it's like to live in my hometown, just imagine a town in Harvest Moon only with a few more people and that's basically it.

I haven't played Havest Moon since, like, the gamecube one came out, lol.

But if you still remember that 'small town' feeling from the game, with all the characters interacting together like that; then that's fairly close to how things are in my hometown ~_^ And I occasionally play Harvest Moon. I like the original HM for the SNES.

A little bit, but not really, lol. I got bored with that game pretty quick. Animal Crossing would probably be about the same though, no?

I don't know about that. Animal Crossing is not very realistic compared to HM. I mean, at least the characters in HM have/had jobs and such. From what I understand, most of the characters in AC don't actually work. Here's a slideshow of my town during winter one year. All the pics were taken by me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhHJt-k-x3U&feature=channel

You look at Animal Crossing and it's the fact that the townsfolk don't have jobs that you find unrealistic, lol? What about the fact that they're, you know, animals, lol?
Your town kinda looks like all those empty places we drive through on the way to Buffalo.

I try to ignore the animal factor while playing AC, and try to see those guys as people. I see it like I do soap operas in this sense; they all have cool stuff but they have no jobs ^_^;
Yeah, Salmon Cove is not like that all year around. Winter things kinda die for a few months. Some of those pictures were from that huge storm that cut us out from the world for a few days until we finally got a plough to get us out xd Usually it's calm and quiet there. The animals are normally out when there's no snow on the ground, but even then we sometimes let them out so they can get some fresh air. Look at my 'spring' pictures and you'll see our beach.

Bleh, soap operas. They're so boring.
Well it looks like a nice place to visit, but I personally wouldn't want to live there. No offense to you or anything.

Animal crossing is staged back when when there were no jobs to be had. And yet they have buses and cities. >>
