"Alright Hitmonee good. I assume you can use Double Kick as well, so let's try that out. Show me a Double kick." Hitmonlee kicked high above his head in a spinning motion, cutting the air as he did so. When his first leg landed int the sand he immediately fired off his second leg and swung his heel around to deliver he second crushing blow to the invisible opponent. "Hmm, your back leg is fine, but your leading let is to high. If a pokemon were to dodge it then you could easily be hit and lose your balance. Do it again, I'll show you." Crenu prepared himself, getting low so that the kick would fly overhead even if he wasn't quick enough to dodge it. As soon as Hitmonlee swung his first leg overhead, Crenu tried to kicked out his leg to try and topple the pokemon. Lee's leg sorta bent with Crenu's attack, but the Kicking Pokemon was indeed thrown off balance and fell. He was actually pretty heavy, but Hitmonlee recovered quickly and got up, looking down at Crenu who was thankful for the sand. He slowly got up and shook himsel off, going back to his coat and wrapping it around his arm to form a big pad like cushion. It wasn't as firm or reliable as a real training pad, but it was good enough for him. "Double Kick again Hitmonlee, aim your kicks for the pad." This was an important kick that Crenu really wanted Hitmonlee to get down right. His technique was really good, But Crenu wanted him to start using other styles of attack to be ready for th enew pokemon they would encounter. This kick wasn't as strong as some of the other ones, but it was an important attack that had the potential of being dodged the first time around but landing a hit the second time if the opponent wasn't fast enough and therefore something they needed in their arsenal. Training a fighting type was different than training other types, Crenu was actually having fun with this. "Double Kick now, but take it easy. First we work on accuracy, then we work on power and speed. Plus, I'm rather fond of my arm." Hitmonlee nodded and got into position. His first kick was still to high and missed the pad, but his second kick was much lower. Even at reduced speed and power, Crenu only barely managed to block it and it still stung his arm like hell. He shook his arm a few times and got right back into it. "Again!"

Even Digger's thick hide wasn't enough to protect him from Torkoal's powerful Overheat attack, and he let out a pained squeal as a result. The Sandslash somehow managed to land on his feet and cushion the blow but that one attack had been devastating. It was obvious that Digger was a little behind experience wise when compared with Torkoal but they still had an advantage. Kasiya also knew by now that after using Overheat the opponent was drastically weakened. "Digger use Earthquake!" Kasiya cried. She silently scolded herself for forgetting about Digger's most powerful attack.

Digger gave a loud cry and jumped up, bringing both arms up above his head. He did a midair flip and and brought both of his claws down onto the ground with a loud crunching sound, and soon the floor began to tremble and shake before it split apart, sending a spray of gravel and dirt up in all directions.

"Oh no!" Flannery groaned, bracing herself as the ground began to shake. It was all she could do to keep from falling over and when the shaking finally stopped, Torkoal was lying belly-up on the ground, eyes squeezed shut. "Damn," the redhead muttered, frowning. Soon after, she began to laugh. "You did well Torkoal, good job," she said, recalling the fainted Tortoise. She glanced towards the sidelines at Mike and Keegan, smiling as she saw the two of them apparently engaging and small talk and for the most part looking like they were old friends again. Good, she smiled before taking a flame-adorned box from a shelf by her chair and approaching Kasiya. "Well, you beat me," she said simply before opening the box. "You've earned my badge, as well as my favourite TM." She handed Kasiya her prizes before standing back to admire the younger girl in front of her. "I have to admit that I didn't know what was going to happen next," she went on. "Sometimes I thought I was gonna lose, other times I thought I was gonna win. But either way, I had a lot of fun. Congratulations!" She then held out her hand for Kasiya to shake, glad she could have such a fun battle while keeping to her duties.

"Thanks Ryka," Jaeshan smiled, more at her comment about Beldum than anything else. "It's only been a few days but I think we're making good progress already." He continued to study his new badge even as they made their way down the street and towards the Pokemon Center. He knew that the next gym was located on Dewford Island but it was quite a bit out of the way right now. If he and Ryka wanted to get to Slateport in time for the Beach Party they'd have to get going soon. "So we gonna head to Slateport now?" he asked as they stepped through the sliding doors of the Pokemon Center. He gave his Pokemon to the nurse and thanked her, watching with a bit of a smile as she carried the three of them away for treatment. "I've been looking at a few maps and we can get through Rusturf Tunnel if we go north, and then through Mauville City. From there it's south and we'll be in Slateport." The route was simple but they had a few days to make it. All Jaeshan knew was that it was great to be traveling with Ryka again.

It was definitely a hollow victory. Kilik blocked her path for a moment and grabbed her hand. The trainer growled a bit. "I don't condone what you did, but..." he slipped his other hand into his back pocket and pulled a few bills out of his wallet. "Find this...Murry and eat something." He shoved the money into her hand and let her go, extending his arm for Flareon to climb up to. The fox did so and let his tail dangle, swishing it back and forth. What a nice battle. Sure, that Heracross did deal a lot of damage and he was hurting, but it wasn't anything a quick trip to the Center couldn't deal with.

Kilik leaned against the alley wall and looked at M.A., pressing his foot against the wall and crossing his arms across his chest. "That managed to burn up about half an hour," he laughed, "At least we got your wallet back. Tora did great, and so did you." The trainer glanced down the alley and cleared his throat. "Do you suppose Mitsu's done with her battle?" He tilted his head and blinked. Flareon seemed to mimic his trainer's actions exactly. He certainly missed him, and copying him. He knew it sort of annoyed him, though Kilik wasn't showing any signs of being peeved.

Kanda jerked when he grabbed her hand, but his grip was strong and somehow she could feel that there wasn't hostility there. Hell, if there was, she'd have him down on the ground using one thing or another. Didn't know how many times a guy had tried to get a little too far with her; if bull-riding and bull-riding brothers couldn't teach you how to be tough, than who knew what could. Anyways, she let him hold her hand, emerald eyes watching expressionlessly. When he produced the greens, she grabbed it up, clenched it in a fist. Her quick eye told her it was well enough for food and the train, though she didn't think she'd have time to eat first with this battle taking so long.

Part of her hesitated. "I don't want any of your pity, but... I'm not in any position to complain," she sighed, running her free hand through her messy red hair. "So thanks." When sincere, the word burned her throat. Oh, she did not like to be indebted to people. (Stealing the money was a different matter, of course. Finders keepers. Even if it was already on someone.) Before the two could as much as say another word, she'd somehow sliced between the two and disappeared, not going to get caught a second time. Second time in the last couple days that she had been beat at her own game. The first time had ended up in all her hard-earned cash and Tauros stolen from her -- from her! -- and the second time... well, the second time, these people weren't that bad. Not at all.

"Y'know, I hope she finds what she's looking for," M.A. blinked, stepping out of the alleyway. "And that was nice of you," she added, referring to his giving her money.

"Thanks," she replied next, "although I gotta say you and Flareon out-classed us," M.A. continued, giggling a little. "He looks real happy to be with you."

As for Mitsu... "She might be. Let's go find her?"

Kilik laughed and began walking with her down the alley. "I wouldn't say outclassed. We're just..." he looked for the right word without trying to sound too overconfident. "At a higher level. But don't worry. Once Tora gets up in strength, she'll definitely be a force to be reckoned with. You handled that battle like a professional trainer." Flareon rolled his eyes. Kilik trying to sweet talk someone? Pathetic. Whatever happened to that crazy blue haired girl? Weren't they together or some such human nonsense like that? He started to snicker a bit.

The boy lifted a hand and gave Flareon a light tap on the nose. "What's so funny?" he raised an eyebrow. When the fox shook his head, Kilik gave him a skeptical look and then turned his attention back to M.A. They were out of the alley and back on the main path, headed south towards the beach. He put his hands into his pockets. "I'm willing to bet she won," he laughed.

"Sure is. I'm sorry for startling you. Most people tend to be shocked but I can't really help it. I like to speak for myself," Karri replied with a slight bow. Truth be told, however, she loved getting her kicks from scaring people with her telephatic powers. She didn't really understand why people were so shocked. I mean really, there were more Psychic types that held the same ability. But nonetheless it made her mentally giggle with satisfaction.

She looked down to the Aipom's crude artwork and laughed slightly. Using her Psychic attack she altered the sand near it to make an almost perfect replica of an Aipom. Think sand castle but in th shape of an Aipom. She smiled pleased wither her work. Only the sea breeze had prevent it from being perfect.

Mitsu smiled at Luffy's quick reactions. The guy sure seemed to love food. She almost wished she had some candy left to feed him, but unfortunately she had givin it all to Ebony earlier that day.

For a moment Kasiya just stared at the devastation her Sandslash had caused, and it wasn't until Digger was tugging at the corner of her shirt that she even realized the battle was over. Kasiya smiled down at the Ground-type before kneeling down and picking him up. She grunted under his weight, realizing he'd certainly grown since they'd first met. "You were awesome, Digger!" she giggled, hugging him tightly. Both she and Digger looked up as Flannery came towards them. She had to set the Pokemon down again as she accepted her rewards. "Thank you, Flannery," Kasiya said, nodding. "This was an awesome battle. Maybe we should do it again sometime," she added with a bit of a giggle as she shook the gym leader's hand. She glanced over at Keegan and gave a small wave, doing nothing to suppress the large grin she was wearing.

Flannery chuckled and knelt down to pat Digger on the head. "You're a tough little guy," she told the Sandslash fondly. "That's one mighty Earthquake you've got going there." She stood up and nodded. "Yeah, a rematch definitely sounds like a good idea to me. She gestured over to her Houndoom. "If you think my gym Pokemon are tough you ain't seen nothing yet."

Kasiya only laughed and held her tongue. She silently wondered if Flannery had forgotten about Ariel but dismissed the idea. Her Vaporeon was tough but she knew better than to judge a gym leader. She may have defeated her own father during a gym match but their rematch had been much different. It was like her dad was a different class of trainer altogether when he was battling outside of the gym. She shuddered at the thought of his powerful Electabuzz attacking Hiro and she sighed, hoping her beloved Arcanine was taking it easy and not driving Professor Oak insane. "Say Flannery," she asked then, looking around. "Do you have a PC in here?"

"Sure do. If you want I can also heal your Pokemon for you," Flannery replied, to which Kasiya agreed and quickly gave the gym leader Levi, Ada and Digger's Pokeballs, after having recalled the Sandslash. Flannery pointed out the PC in the corner of her office while she took the three Pokemon along with Magu, Camerupt and Torkoal over to the healing machine for treatment.

Kasiya thanked Flannery before heading over to the PC and logging on. She drummed her fingers on the desk while waiting for her storage system to load. When the program was finally running she quickly initiated the transfer system. Within a few moments she'd sent Flash, Seto and Casimir back to the Professor's lab and had Ariel, Shocker and Fang sent over in their places. As much as she wanted Hiro back in her party she knew the Arcanine still needed to rest. She was content to keep Digger, Adamantine and Leviathan with her for now, as the victorious three should be allowed to bask in their win for at least a little while. The switch now complete, she logged off and turned to Flannery in time to have her three Pokemon returned to her. After thanking her, Kasiya skipped out of the small room and back into the main area before sprinting across the damaged battlefield towards her friends. "Did you watch me!?" she cried excitedly as she practically threw herself at Keegan, wrapping her arms around his neck and hugging him tightly. "My Pokemon were so awesome! This is the greatest day ever!"

M.A. rolled her eyes with a playful smirk and a scoff. "Riiight. Me a professional trainer." That'd make three professionals in the family and one klutzy mom with a tingly sixth sense. Somehow, she couldn't see herself in that kind of light; she'd always heard all about how people aspired to be the best, but she was content to just be as good as she could get and have fun along the way. M.A. had lost ambition a long time ago. Without the hazy fear of failure, she felt as light as air... But nothing really drove her or grounded her either.

"What do you want to be, Kilik?" she asked abruptly, turning to look just slightly up to meet his eyes. Tall guy, she thought. She hardly looked up to anyone, save for Sae, her father, and a few other guys she'd met here and there. "I've never seen Mitsu in action, actually," she murmured aloud curiously. "But I bet she's awesome! Her Pokemon sure look it."

Not too far away, they saw a green head on top of a flowing white garment, next to a very familiar, dark-haired girl. "Target sighted," M.A. grinned.

"A Gym Leader," he said simply, looking down to the side to match up her eyes with his. It answered her question, and it was short, sweet and to the point. He didn't think of much he could add to his answer, so it would have to suffice. His father somewhat frowned on his choice of career, though it wasn't set in stone. Dr. Ranmo would much rather Kilik carry on the tradition of being a Pokemon Excavator. Maybe that would fall on Janie to do? The boy expelled the thought of his little sister digging for a living and snapped to reality when he caught sight of Mitsu.

"Say, that girl and that Aipom are sure familiar..." Kilik scratched his chin and snapped his fingers. "Aha! Robin and Luffy! Hopefully she got that Pokemon she wanted at the Contest." He slipped his hands into his pockets. Flareon grew bored and hopped off of Kilik, walking alongside his trainer. The stone felt good on the pads of his feet, and a gentle breeze was blowing against his orange fur, rustling it softly. The Fire-type hopped on over to Mitsu and bumped his head against her leg. He'd never forget the time where she (and Nina) had taken care of him when Kilik had ditched him as a Rocket. He looked up at the female and let out a bark to let her know he was down there.

"Double Kick Hitmonlee, get it right this time!" Hitmonlee stepped in to kick again, his first kick still a little to high and the second t about the same place. "That's enough Lee, that'll do." Crenu felt much better now, and the training had put a smile on his face. But he wasn't done yet. He unwrapped the coat from his arm, which was now drenched in sweat and covered with bruises, and threw it aside. He started breathing hard as he tried to catch his breath and chuckled a little as Hitmonlee kicked the air in rapid succession as he waited for his trainer to recover. Perhaps it would have been wise to bring a bottle of water, but that didn't matter now. He was almost done anyway. "Alright Hitmonlee, show me something new. You should be able to use Jump Kick by now, let's see it." Hitmonlee nodded, but once he got into position he didn't move a muscle. He returned to a normal stance and looked at Crenu, disappointment in his eyes. "What, really? You can't use Jump Kick?" The Hitmonlee waved his hands as if to say "No," and got into position again. He jumped, but didn't go very high, only kicking out a little. "What's the problem then?" Hitmonlee rubbed his legs and gave Crenu a look of apology. it was then that Crenu realized the problem. He shook his head and ran to get his coat again, again wrapping it around the other arm this time. "Of course, I'll be your target. I forgot that if you don't hit anything then you'll hurt yourself." Hitmonlee nodded in approval and got into stance again. Launching forward Hitmonlee tucked his back leg in and extended his leading leg asout until it was straight. The elastic like muscles in the leg contracted to make ti as solid as stone and he turned his foot so that he would be striking with the blade of the foot. A flawless Jump Kick, and a powerful one as well. Crenu put his arm up to black it and used his other arm to further absorb the impact, but even that didn't help. Hitmonlee didn't hold back quite enough, this was a hard kick to suppress after all and Crenu was hit hard. His arms buckled under the force and fell from their position, letting the remaining force of the kick unload on his chest. The wind was knocked clear out of him as Crenu was sent flying backwards into the warm white sand, he wasn't out cold but he was close to it.

Seeing Karri make a sand sculpture of him caused Luffy to give a happy cheer jumping up and start chattering. This pokemon was sure cool! He wished that he could get a pokemon this cool to be his Nakama. Then again he had a plenty of cool new Nakama now. Oh well he scampered forward before climbing easily onto Karri's shoulder.

Robin herself was very impressed with Karri's ability as well. "Wow, I have never seen a psychic pokemon before." It seemed like Karri was a very powerful pokemon. Then again there were plenty of pokemon trainers who were around who were much more powerful then they were. All in all it just inspired Robin to get stronger then before.

"Flareon!" Mitsu exclaimed upon feeling a rather warm bump to her leg and hearing that familiar bark. She knelt down to give it a pat on the head and the best hug she could muster at the same time. "It's been a while!. Good to see you buddy," she said smiling. His warm orange-red fur felt warm and soft as she stroked his head a few times.

After a few more moments she stood back up to greet M.A. and Kilik. "Hey there!" She called out waving slightly. M.A. looked rather happy upon seeing her but she wasn't so sure of Kilik. The two had only met a few times before and even then it hardly lasted that long. She didn't even recall really talking to him before. It felt slightly awkward to say the least.

Karri adjusted her shoulders to accomodate the Aipom, she didn't mind it so much. So this is what Mitsu felt like with Ebony clinging onto her shoulders all the time. "Glad to be the first," she replied to Robin.

Karri smiled upon seeing the Fire type. She'd grown rather fond of them and for this she blamed Mike. Who could resist that cute little Cyndaquil, back when he was one anyways, or that huge goofy Charizard. Nitro had been her first friend and she was a mother figure of sorts to Felsic. However, she hadn't been out much around Kilik's Flareon, if at all. So she floated around a bit, her "dress" blowing a bit in the slight breeze before saying anything. "Hello there," she stated simply.

Kilik did feel a little strange. The most time he'd spent with more than one person was with Mike, Kasiya, and Nina back on Five Island and that was for a mere fifteen minutes or so. He walked over to Mitsu and Robin with M.A. in tow and smiled a bit awkwardly. "Afternoon, ladies. I take it your battle went well, Mitsu?" He looked at her with a smile.

"And you, Robin! How'd your Contest go?" He rocked back and forth a bit. "And before I forget," he glanced over at M.A. with a toothy grin, "My dad invited M.A.'s family out to dinner, to go with my family. I figure since I know both of you," he nodded in the girls' direction, "You should come along. I'm pretty sure my dad wouldn't mind." He slouched forward and imitated his father again: "The more the merrier, mah boy!" Kilik straightened out. Maybe this dinner wouldn't be so bad after all. Once more, Elekid popped out of his Pokeball. He was dying for attention it seemed, and since Master was surrounded by all these pretty girls, right now would be the best time to do it. After all, what better way to feel important than to have people ogling you? The plug looked over at Robin and waved. He remembered her and her silly Aipom!

Flareon sat on his hind legs and looked up at Gardevoir. "Hey, girl, heeeey. How's it flowin'?" the Flareon 'spoke' back to her. Pokemon could understand each other after all. If a human could hear the voice Flareon had, one could compare it to the 'gay best friend' that every girl seemed to have. Though it was quite obvious that Flareon was, in fact, interested in females. Of course, he did have a hint of mischief in his voice at all times, whether it was intentional or not.

Slowly Crenu got up, falling back down as soon as he got his back side more than a few inches off the sand. His chest hurt like hell, if he hadn't blocked most of it first then Hitmonlee might have broken something. He coughed a few times to get himself breathing regularly again and rubbed his chest. "Not bad, I'd say we don't need to practice that one right now." His voice was a little scratchy and he'd eaten some sand, but for the most part he was alright. He spat into the sand once or twice to get rid of a light copper taste and got up again. He was sore now, but he managed to get up on his feet and walk fairly straight back to the pavement. His coat, as well as all of his clothes and especially his hair, were covered in sand. Even after shaking himself off as best he could, he could still feel the gritty remnants here and there. "I'd say you've earned a break Hitmonlee." He recalled his pokemon and walked along the beach as he recovered. A hint of the copper taste still lingered in the back of his throat, which started to annoy him a bit.

"A Gym Leader, huh?" She thought about Bugsy, the only Gym Leader she'd ever seen, besides that one red-headed chick that she'd spied during some gym battle when passing by the Lavaridge Gym. They had both been excellent battlers. "You could definitely do it! Your Pokemon are really strong," she said, going off of what she saw today and that other time during the Rocket attack.

Mary-Anne strode cheerfully to the crowd (passing Kilik when they came closer, mwahah), glad to see Mitsu again and wondering what the heck was that monkey thing. It was very... curious-looking, cute in a way. A part of M.A. laughed at herself; gee, she was getting to be so girlish. "Hey Mitsu, hey... Um, I don't think we've met before!" she said, directing the last bit at Robin and grinning as she reached a hand out. "Cool-lookin' Pokemon too."

"It'd be great if you guys came," M.A. smiled brightly, sliding her hands easily in her butt pockets. See, roominess! The convenience of not having curves poppin' everywhere, she thought in defense of herself. Michael Sae always made fun of her for being a beanpole. In her mind, she thought Kilik was a eensy bit strange with his imitations, but it wasn't necessarily bad. Just unique. There were so many kinds of people out in this world, she thought blissfully. Hopefully she'd get to meet a good chunk of them.
