"It sure looks like it." Cedric watched the mare's carefully looking for signs of trouble.
Konoha twitched at Aedan's nuzzling. She sat up and pulled herself to her feet with a grunt. Uncomfortable she walked in a small circle. Shaking her coat again she walked up beside Path, her ears back. She stood there for a moment before walking to the fence and pressing her stomach against it. It didn't ich but still she wanted Gwen's soothing hands to comfort the pain in her stomach. She swung her head over the fence, a look of confusion on her face. It was her first foal, but she had seen others born. Something didn't feel right she knew something was wrong, she shouldn't be foaling on the same day as Wildfire. She should still have awhile before her foal was born, but the foal had decided otherwise.

Gwen rubbed Kohona's belly. "Relax, girl, it will all be ok."she murmured. "She is worried because of how early the foal is coming."she explained glancing at the two men.
Path nuzzled Kohona reassuringly. He was kind of worried too, but he trusted Gwen and Cedric.
"Will she be ok?"Dawson ask, worriedly.

"Seeing how young she is I'm guessing this is her first foal. She'll be ok. Gwen's good with this stuff and we'll keep a close eye on her and the foal." Cedric dug a carrot out of his pocket and offered it to her, knowing that she probably wouldn't eat it.
Konoha barely showed intrest in the carrot. She shifted but kept her belly against the fence. She nuzzled Gwen and motioned to her stomach with her muzzle. She wrung her tail, looking back towards it and whinning. She had started sweating, the liquid turning her light coat darker.
Johnson played with Kalypso. He pushed the stallion's shoulder playfully and turned with him as he circled. "What's gotten in to you today boy? Your playful."

Gwen continued to rub Kohona's belly, finding just the right spots. "Its ok girl. It will all be ok."she murmured soothingly. Dawson nodded quietly watching Gwen work.

Slowly Konoha's ears came forward and she relaxed slightly. Her eyes drifted close as Gwen chased away the pain for a few minutes. The pain intensified to where Gwen's rubbing no longer helped. She pawed at the ground and stepped away from the fence, circling a soft patch of new grass. She collapsed to her knees and then laid flat on her side. The muscles of her stomach heaved and she whinnied in pain again. Soon two hooves could be see, Konoha continued to push but no progress was made over the next several minutes. She lifted her sweaty head and neck, to look back and whinnied. Instead of the normal feet pointing down with a muzzle following the feet where pointing up and no muzzle followed where it should have been, instead hocks could be seen. The foal was breech and seemingly stuck as Konoha made no further progress, though she struggled hard.
"Gwen..." Cedric knew that the foal could be lost if it was not born with in a certian amount of time.

((Um um...........I don't know how to describe the whole precedure thingy!))
Gwen slipped into the paddock. "Somebody bring me towels, warm water, and....."she called listing the things she needed. She knelt down by Kohona's tail. "Its ok, girl, this might hurt a bit but it will all be ok."she murmured. Path stood by Kohona, lowering his head to nuzzle her reassuringly.

((That's ok.....it's basicaly just pulling when the mare pushes. And wiggiling if the foal doesn't move. Something like that, doesn't have to be detailed.))
Cedric nodded and ran off to get what she needed, sending a few other men to fetch items a other locations. He ran back to the pasture, knowing that time wasn't on their side. He slowed as he reached the pasture, and slipped inside walking carefully over to Gwen. He had an arm full of towels. Other men walked into the pen bringing with them the items that Gwen needed and then leaving.
Konoha whinnied again, her breathing erratic. The labor didn't stop, even though it brought a her tons of pain and the foal didn't move. The sweat had the dirt plastered to her skin. Most of the foals she had seen being born were already on the ground. She was too deeply incased in pain to worry about that. It wouldn't be long before she was exhausted and the foal put into deadly danger.

Kalypso snorted with amusement then stopped as Konoha began giving birth...'I leave her alone...' He thought to himself, then resumed his playfulness. He had boundless energy all of a sudden and he nipped at Johnson's sleeve once more, then turned and bolted towards the pasture fence. He gathered himself and once he was close enuough, sprng loose and flew over the fence, barely hitting it as he went over. He landed gracefully on the other side and halted, looking back at Johnson, his ears pricked forwards, obviously pleased with his success.

Johnson looked at Gwen and Colonel but left them alone. He grabbed a halter and lead rope and flung it over his shoulder. Making his way towards the fence, he slipped under the fence. "Now what trouble are you going to get yourself into? Don't you go teaching the other horses how to jump that fence." He laughed, he had developed a soft spot for the stallion, even if he could be a pain.

Gwen began doing what she had learned from her grandmother. She kept murmuring soothingly to Kohona 'til finally the foal slid out. She stepped back wiping her hands on a towel waiting to see if Kohona would start cleaning the little filly.

Konoha sighed and stayed lying on the ground resting. She rolled so she was sitting up and looked back at her foal. The foal wasn't super small but she was very thin, having lost time to gain weight by being born earily. She nickered and reached back urging the filly to sit up. She just wanted to lay still for a few minutes but the filly tried to push herself up, unable to hold herself up for longer than a few seconds. Konoha nickered to her foal again and the filly finaly got herself into a position where she could remain sitting up by leaning against her dam. She simply sat there for a few minutes, resting before she pushed herself to her feet. She turned to face her foal, who had flopped back over onto herside. Lowering her head she sniffed the creature before she starting cleaning her, starting with her face and moving down. She nudged the foal back into a sitting position each time she rolled back to her side. The foal had a limp quality about her which worried Konoha even more. She paused looking at Path and then back at Gwen. "What's wrong with her? Why can't she sit up?"
"Thank goodness your here Gwen. I haven't had to do something like that in a long time, I don't even remember what to do anymore." Cedric stepped up behind Gwen and looked at the foal. "She's a pretty little thing." He noticed Konoha's look and held back a laugh. "It's ok girl give her time. She'll come around."

Kalypso snorted as Johnson approached him and lowered his head, sniffing the ground. He walked along a bit before folding his legs beneath him and began rolling on the dirt and gravel. Having reached the itchy spot, he rolled back up and stood up, shaking himself from head to tail again. It was only then he walked back to Johnson and attempte to resume their game, nipping at his sleeve once more.

Gwen leaned back against Cedric, a tired look on her face. She smiled up at him.
Path lowered his head to nuzzle his little filly. "She is beautiful."he nickered nuzzled Kohona.
Aedan trotted closer hesitantly. He reached out tentatively to sniff the filly.

As Sundance layed on her side underneath the tree, Amy stood watching at the fence. She didn't want to upest her mare, even though everytime Sundance gave birth to a foal, and sometimes Amy was there it didn't bother her. Sundance sides breethed up and down, and groaned as she pushed. Soon two tiny black hooves came out, followed by a body then a neck, and finally the head and a tiny dark muzzle. The little filly's eyes where closed and was wet with blood. Sundance looked up and slowly started to clean her filly off. The little filly had a white stocking on her left hind leg, and on her forhead she has a white star. The chestnut filly looked up at her mother and she slowly opened her eyes to look at the new world around her. As her dam started to get up, she struggled to follow. With some help from her mother, she was up and nurseing greedily. Sundance snorted and nuzzled her hindquarters.
Amy smiled and jumped off the fence. She slowly started to walk towards the filly and Sundance. Making sure Sundance could see her she stroked the mare's neck. "She gorgouse, Sundance. All we need to do is find a name for her." Amy said smiling. Amy reached for the chestnut filly and slowly stroked her. Amy looked up at the sky and thought for a name. It was still morning and the sun was slowly rising. Right then Amy knew the filly's name. "Daybreak...welcome to the world, little Daybreak." She whispered kissing Sundance's nose.

Kalypso stopped for a moment and looked at all the newborn foals. His ears flickered uncomfortably, they made him a bit nervous. They were all beautiful in every way, but he didn't know quite what to think. He snorted and pushed the thought from his mind and continued nipping at Johnson, trotting circles around him.
