"Talk to you tomorrow!" Reese said, and flipped the blue switch. He reached down and ruffled the Nymph's hair. "Tomorrow, don't be so loud!"

When Dari's mood began to fail, you could be almost guaranteed that something drastic was going on in his head. He was so endlessly optimistic that extra time in the basement and a lack of eye contact meant something was wrong.
Cody would undoubtedly notice, especially over dinner while Dari pushed his food around the plate. His eyes were flickering around as he stared through the table.

Cody noticed almost immediately. This was the guy who laughed at everything. Even being lectured by his fiancee's mother! He pushed his plate aside and and leaned forward.
"Babe. What's wrong?"

Dari looked up from the floor to Cody. He held eye contact for a few long moments before he spoke.
"Nothing to worry yourself with." It wasn't his fault, after all. It wasn't anyone's fault. Reality just came crashing in sometimes.

"Too late for that," Cody muttered, reaching for Dari's hand. "Love, I'm worried about you. What's bothering you?" Was it something at work? "We should do something fun. Want to go skating tomorrow?"

Dari realized with horror that he almost flinched away. He kept himself under control, though.
"Sure. If you'd like." He smiled softly. He'd take anything he could with Cody, forever. Of course Cody's "forever" was going to be much shorter.

Was Dari only agreeing for his benefit? Cody frowned in concern and gave his hand a squeeze. "We'll go skating and then we'll do something else. We have all day!"

Cody's frown deepened. Definitely for his benefit then. He took Dari's hand in both of his. "I want to make you happy," he said. "What do you want to do tomorrow more than anything?"

Dari's brow furrowed and he actually frowned. It didn't seem to be entirely in thought.
"To be with you," he said. Whatever Cody wanted was fine by him. "We need to talk about our wedding."

"Is that what you're worried about?" Cody asked. He smiled at Dari and gave his hand another squeeze. "We can do that. When would you like it to be? Do you have a favorite place? My mother'll want to help with the catering..."

"I don't know. Everyone does spring or summer. What's your favorite season?" Would he want to do it where they met? "She can, I don't mind. You're going to have to pick colors, though." He smiled. "I see too many."

"An autumn wedding? Maybe sometime in October?" Cody suggested. "I've always liked the fall colors. And we won't be crashing anyone's plans." Maia and Toby had theirs planned for spring. He wasn't sure when Lori's was suppose to be.
"What's it like, seeing so many colors?" Cody asked, curiously.

Dari nodded. "I like autumn."
As for colors, that was more difficult to turn into words.
"It's impossible to explain. It's beautiful. You can't imagine seeing more colors, and I can't imagine seeing less."
