finding one screw's teeth/track is completely stripped: lose gonk I think the term you're looking for is tapping, but yeah... lose. I'd be more impressed with Ikea's wares if I hadn't heard/directly witnessed so many disasters involving them. I thought tapping was when the teeth were replaced? Tapping as an action both refers to the grooves in the screw being restored and the action of first starting out a screw so as to get em to bite correctly... As a noun it refers to the actual grooves themselves too.
