Hartley woke up with his arms still around Wallace. He unsnared the older boy and sat up, stretching lightly. He winced at the pain from his side. Even magic healing wasn't 100% perfect, apparently.
He rolled off the bed, putting the covers on Wallace and looked at himself in the mirror.
"Well. You almost died last night."
He sternly informed his reflection. His reflection looked appropriately penitent, and then smiled slightly at him.
Yeah, it had been pretty dramatic and exciting. And now he knew he had someone to rely on if his 'nighttime activities' got too extreme. A cover story. An alibi. An aide de camp.
A boyfriend! Wallace had said that last night, he was pretty sure.
Slowly, agonizingly, Hart pulled on a green t-shirt and a pair of black jeans. Wallace still looked out cold. He had to pay him back, somehow. Maybe breakfast in bed?
Hartley slipped on some shoes and walked out in the hallway. He figured he'd stop by the school cafeteria and pick up some bagels or something. The sounds of crashing and smashing came from Powell's room.
Huh.
Hartley knocked on the door.
"Powell? You okay in there?"

*Chris grabbed his chair and sat down opposite of Karen. He took her hands in his.*
Karen, he's gay. I tried telling you but...it's nothing bad about you. It's just what he prefers. You're great. We'll find you a guy.

Chris gave up on his search. For all he knew Linda had already left for break. He gave a tired sigh and headed back to the boys dorm.

Hartley trailed off when he looked inside. Oh man. It was Karen Starr, the one he'd 'suggested' Julian and Joanne paint a mural of on the Municipal building!
Be calm, he told himself. There's no way she could know that was your doing.
"Hm....how about ice cream? I was about to head to the cafeteria to get some food for Wallace anyways."

Hartley tries really hard not to laugh as he nods, gives Karen a swishy bow, and heads down the stairs and outside to the cafeteria.

Jack awakes from his bed where he had been sleeping with a pillow over his face. "Chris. This is the third girl you've had in here in the past couple weeks. Can you share for once?"

Jack looks at Karen, then at the empty spot in his bed. "I believe it's you shaped," he said, referring to the spot.

The cafeteria was open, but there was barely anyone in there. Hartley looked over the scant offerings with a frown, and decided on some small boxes of cereal and milk cartons for Wallace for breakfast in bed.
Mental note: Steal Wallace a banquet one of these days.
Hartley went over to the cold case, looking for ice cream. Nothing left but strawberry. Eww. Oh well, good enough.
He grabbed his items and strolled to the door. Chest was still bothering him a bit. He passed a table where a sour-faced Tommy Monaghan sat with Jean-Paul Valley. Figured those psychos didn't have family to go home to for the holidays. He tried not to limp as he passed them, and headed on out.

"I just can't wait for this beak! All the family will be there!"
"Yeah... I can't wait..." Linda replied a little saddened.... Her real family was gone... but there was still Kal-El and...
"Oh Rio! Chris!! I forgot all about him!"
*took off in a hurry*
"Huh? Who's Chris!"
*Turns around.*
"Uhh... He's this foreign exchange student! That's living with the Lang's...I just kinda Forgot?"
"Well have a good one! Got to go!"
*As soon as she turned the corner she super-speeded around to fine Chris.*
"Chris? Are you here??" She called out to him.

Chris turned around. To his surprise Linda was there. "Good to see you Linda. I thought you had left already. I think we need to talk. Something strange is going on."
