Alright people, we know your concern with Alpine. Don't go overboard.
Plus, we've all bent the rules before.

True. I don't mean to complain about it or anything, it's just... Gah, I don't know. To me, I've always thought that be able to understand what a Pokemon's saying, you'd need to be incredibly smart or something. Or maybe I'm just jealous that people are jumping on the bandwagon.

Well Dante has Meowth and he has always been able to talk. But yeah. And Nina isn't exactly smart Willow... But she is Psychic so that makes up for it.

I don't think is has to do with intelligence, just a really tight connection with nature and the planet, all open to the cosmos and stuff. Well, yeah you have to be smart but it's not like you need to have an I.Q. of like 300+ or something. Knowledge and Wisdom are two completely different things. I would think that the trainer would have to be in an enlightened state, like a psychic or something, and have to have an incredibly strong bond with the pokemon.

That's a lot easier than teaching a pokemon spoken language, which would be harder to pull off and explain despite their type. Just saying.

Dark Holy Willow ...Omg. I'm a horrible person. redface Far from it. And I agree with Crenu. Teaching a mass amount of Pokemon to talk would be impossible for a child your character's age.
