I kicked forward. Beneath my foot/leg, a shockwave traveled from me to you. From this shockwave, the ground is rent-- standing there would have the ground stab you in the chest.
The stomp followed, having the ground stab you from all sides, if you don't move. But if you move, you're still likely to get stabbed... just a lot more from that side. For instance... hop back away from the direct thrust, and you'll get impaled from the back. Move to the left, and you'll have a stalagmite thing tearing through that arm/those ribs.
