Should I just notify you via quotepinging when I get posts written, then edit the quotes out later?
This will be one fun but probably short posting tennis match.

If that's not too much trouble, you can. It'll make me go faster in case I get distracted watching the news. I refresh the page every few minutes, so I'll see that. I'll do the same next post since it's already up.

Those who haven't been paying much attention might think she's going over the top with it, but wait until the word of why he's so skittish gets out. That will be a fun moment.

So, I had a bit of fun today setting up my own Alchemy/Smithing system in RPG Maker XP. I got randomly inspired to do it, so I just started screwing around and it actually worked. Well, the smithing I can see being a problem because of the amount of weapons that are possible to make is a bit excessive, so it would need a lot more sub-selections for bronze/iron/blah/blah/mythril and then more sub-selections for each weapon type. It's nothing too fancy, I just did it via a common event.. anyway, I uploaded it if anyone wants to check it out: [link]
If you don't have RMXP (I know you use VX, Jay, I just wasn't sure if you had XP as well or..?) there's a folder inside the .rar titled "RPG Maker XP". Open it, run "Setup Menu.exe", and install the "RGSS-RTP Standard". This will let you play the game file. After that, run "Crafting & Alchemy Test" in the main folder to extract my game data, and inside will be a "Game.exe". Run that to play~
It's all super basic and I just used the stock characters and everything because I just wanted to test out the common event to see if I could actually get it to work before putting it in my main game.
*ssiiiggghhhh*... Too bad you're not a morning person. Too bad none of you are. I WANNA RP NOOOWWWW...gonk /impatient

I used VX and XP when I was using Windows. I've looked into getting them running on GNU/Linux via WINE (a windows compatibility layer) but some have some pretty bad bugs (VX has problems with the database, XP has lag, audio, and playtesting problems). Now I use RPG Maker 2003, which is older but works perfectly and was what got me into it in the first place (plus I know I won't be tempted into using premade RGSS scripts because there is no scripting).
If you want to share the common event, screencap it or something. I'm 98% sure I can replicate it in 2k3 and get it running smooth.
Here's the common event for Alchemy (I'll work on getting others together later):
edit: hold on, photobucket's being a b***h and compressing it Edit: uploaded to Deviant Art, that should be legible now

I just woke up from a nap, and I feel so weak... I haven't eaten since 8:30. . _____ . Wobbly legs are not fun. I wish Mom's burgers were ready already.

Looks good, but just to be sure: is cancel included in the list of choices when playtesting?
I've had in mind a similar feature for my latest project, which is a village life simulator/rpg/somethin'likethat that is supposed to feel like a mix of Rune Factory, Animal Crossing, and the Sims.
What is your main game, by the way, and how will crafting fit in?

Mornin' lol. (I know it's afternoon, but I can't help it) ...not eating from morning to afternoon is so common for me lol. I don't know that weak feeling.

I'm an eating machine, so I eat every two to three hours. And every four hours, I need a meal. Maybe because I'm so tall; there's a lot of me to feed? You're small, so the need to eat isn't so dire, I guess? . ____ .

Probably. Skin and bones don't need as much as muscle does. My appetite doesn't kick in until two or three hours after I wake up.
You might catch me at 3AM making a gigantic turkey sandwich though.
