What brawl needs is a few more bad guys to join the brawl and customizable color schemes for the characters.

Sauvie Wizard of light @Sauvie: Not so sure about that. In the Demo, Sonic was one of the Starter characters. The demo means nothing at this point, for all we know Metaknight, Ike, Pit and Diddy may be unlockabe. But Sakurai and Kojima both agreed that Guest fighters should be earned by the Playing public. The Demo with sonic might just of had him because of all the massive hype surrounding Sonic V. Mario for the first time. Denko Just have some hope, Sauvie. >_> Why so pessimistic? I am being realistic because if I hope for too little out of the Character roster Iodds are I cant be anything but imressed and surprised. Not to mention I think that 43 (in my opinion) will be the number, I have no idea why, but 43 seems like a good call in my opinion. Also somebody Shoot Allegro xd *Pulls out Wii Zapper*

Thing is, we know of 23 characters already.
11 Newcomers, 12 Veterans.
We can't really know how many Newcomers are in this game so let's look at the Vets.
there are 14 other characters (Sheik) that were in Melee that are not "announced" in Brawl. However, it is a foregone conclusion that some of them will make it, mainly the non-clones.
Luigi Jigglypuff Captain Falcon Ness
Ganondorf has been pseudo-confirmed through an interview with a Zelda rep.
Marth has earned a large fanbase in Melee for his awesomeness, plays completely differently than Ike does (so the Ike point is moot), and a new FE remake is coming out that features Marth. I'd say Marth is a-go for Brawl.
Game & Watch...well you know the little icons on Dojo? You know, the Animal Crossing leaf, Pokeball, etc etc. Well, if you look at the url addresses for those, there is one missing icon yet to be revealed, between Ice Climbers and Fire Emblem icons. And after IC, all the new icons commence. A lot of people have logically deduced that this icon is reserved for GW as his icon is the only icon from Melee yet to be revealed in Brawl. So we can infer that GW is in Brawl.
Mewtwo...well I personally think he's in Brawl, he is unique, a badass villain, and THE bad guy for one of Ninty's three top franchises (Mario and Zelda are the other two). So I feel Mewtwo will be in.
Sheik...ehh. She has a huge fanbase, particularly in the competitive community. Personally, I think either she's a part of Zelda again or just a completely different character this time. Why wasn't Zelda playable at E4All? Hmm.........either way, Sheik has a good shot of making it in Brawl.
The clones...Sakurai has noted that he doesn't want all the characters from Melee returning, specifically the clones. This is not to say they ALL won't, I mean, Ganondorf has been "confirmed" and will most likely use a unique moveset this time around.
well we can say that Pichu, Y Link, Dr. Mario, and Roy are the worst clones and thus will be kicked out. xP
Falco...umm people like him, but personally I think he'll be replaced by Krystal...either way, I could see him returning and being left out.
Okay so of the 14 vets we don't know about, you can logically deduce that...9 or 10 of them will return.
Add that on to the 23 we already know of and...
32 to 33 characters in our Brawl "roster" already? Uh huh...well what about Newcomers?
In Melee, Sakurai revealed all 11 secret characters after release...don't you think Sakurai will keep some secret from us this time around as well? I would sure hope so.
And with this 32 magic number...then don't you think only EIGHT newcomers that have yet to be revealed is a tad low? It's even lower than Melee's secret character count. Even including Sonic and Snake, 11>10. I think all of you can agree that there will be more of everything in Brawl as there was in Melee. And I think this extends to hidden characters as well. I expect at least 15 characters to remain a secret to us until the game releases...which would push our total roster to a total of 47!
BUT wait...don't you think Sakurai is going to reveal some more new characters on Dojo? I think so...so let's take that into account. Even if he does so, I think the hidden characters until launch will remain in the mid-teens...thus, any new characters on Dojo would only add to our character roster, wouldn't it? As to how many...well, no one can say for sure. It's anyone's guess.
Point is, 50 characters is MORE than plausible and likely for Brawl. In fact, the total could even exceed that. But maybe that'd be pushing it. x)

This is logically pointed out. Good job. But it can easily be reversed into complete stupidity. The likely fact that Krystal will be in there is smaller than bringing Megaman. (Althought Megaman would be tight). GW is one of the worst characters in Melee, and the least favorite. Hardly a chance there. Sheik is part of Zelda, so that's -1 right there. As with the arrival of Lucas, it will be disapointing, but Ness may not come back. Luigi hasn't been anounced yet, and Mewtwo is also a hardly. Technically, Mewtwo is also a clone. Mew is in the game (inside a pokeball), and Mewtwo isn't one of the main villains. And WTF?! Jiggly? Falcon? Jiggly Puff is one of the worst characters (next to G&W), and Captain Falcon first made his appearance in Melee. Many original characters from 64 will return, but Melee won't. Ganondouruf (or however the hell you spell it) may come back, but may not. The possibilities are narrow for many. You act like there must be 50 characters. Melee only had around 30, and asking for 20 more without running into useless characters is pointless. Adn what about Masked Link? Hmm? He would be much better than any other clone. Case Closed. (My new saying)

Falcon was brought in in the original, and you saying that a certain character is the worst is just stupid. everyone has their own opinions on the subject and its kinda dumb saying just because you think they are the worst characters that they will indeed NOT be in the game. A lil overboard dont you think? Ganondorf has been confirmed as Steeler said, and so your saying on that subject was just blown into the water. Though IGN's idea of masked Link made me shake with excitement, No one is quite sure that he will join. Sakurai may just decide to limit the amount of strange characters like "Pokemon trainer" and "Ice climbers" if every character could just switch to some other form, it would get old sorta fast. Try keeping things basic and simple. This game is intended for begineers as well as veterans to the franchise so lets not take it overboard again. and about Mewtwo, he is a villan he has the coldest heart of all pokemon, and he is not a clone. sure he may be in terms of actual pokemon breeds, but in the game NO. he is one of the most orignal characters as far as movesets and playstyle goes.

(My new saying) Have you even tried to play as Jigglypuff? She has one of the strongest moves in the game! It's almost an instant knockout every time. I'm not the best at handling Jigglypuff, but she's not the worst. And in the right hands, Game and Watch can be a force to be reckoned with.

But G&W being the worst player wasn't my opinion. I remember seeing one time in IGN when scrolling the website and came across it. And I said Technically Mewtwo is a clone (yes he is), but not a clone of a selectible character. Plus, they're other vilians besides mewtwo who were worse. He may be the the most powerful Evil pokemon (wait, nvmd. There is a Pokemon in Sinnoh even stronger and eviler). And Jiggly Puff, well that was sorta my opinion sweatdrop . But overall, this is a debatable issue, and there were faults in his and my view. *Points at own mistakes as well* And I have been mistakened on Ganondorf, but I didn't see it any where on the Dojo nor IGN. And I didn't mean every character should get a costume. They had Young Link, and like he said, they're may be some Clones in the game. So why not Masked Link as a better choice? Note: Tatsuman is gonna love my profile now xd

(My new saying) someone does'nt know their smash history. This game is intended for begineers as well as veterans to the franchise so lets not take it overboard again. and about Mewtwo, he is a villan he has the coldest heart of all pokemon, and he is not a clone. sure he may be in terms of actual pokemon breeds, but in the game NO. he is one of the most orignal characters as far as movesets and playstyle goes. lol, ya sweatdrop I forgot about Falcon being in 64 since i haven't played it in over a year. Note: Tatsuman is gonna love my profile now xd To be honest I saw no faults in steelets statements. only yours. I know Mewtwo is a clone in the pokemon SERIES. but not in smash brothers. And just because mew floats out of a ball and does nothing, does'nt mean they should take out mewtwo. I mean come on, its like you are nit-picking to take characteres out. and to everyone saying stuff about game and watch, yes he is deadly. Man-hole is most likely everyones favorite move with him, just because its so strong. But his parachute move isn't anything to look down on either. wink

Nero-K Wizard of Light1 Nero-K Wizard of Light1 Steeler36 Thing is, we know of 23 characters already.
But maybe that'd be pushing it. x)Dude, you spend way too much time on the computer. I just said that he was a clone...because in the series he is, lol. And there were some faults in his (I may have made more, but still). G&W? My friends just unlocked him (theyd don't have a computer to check Gamespy and what-not) and I played him a few times and he sucked. So, may be I just need to get better (but IGN does not lie, most of the time). Alright? Topic Dropped (but 50 still is an unlikely number).
