Yay! SEP Conferences are over.
Had Kay's last night and El's tonight.
Both are doing well.
Both have areas we can work on them with, but... we're done. 4laugh

El doesn't know her alphabet like she should
and we're going to continue to work on reading with Kay.
Both of them over all are at, above, or just under the goals for the end of the year.
Now in the middle-ish of the year so... It's good!

It was a planned surgery. He had a deviated septum that was causing him to have sleep apnea like symptoms. So they went in and corrected the deviation and shaved down his nose canal some. Sadly, this is a painful procedure and he's in some slightly uncomfortable pain, granted the painkillers do help some.

Bridgey: I've had that surgery back in... 2000 or 2001. I had a deviated septum too. Because of that and my severe allergis I had chronic sinusitis, and becaues of my allergies I had to do nearly 4, or was it 5, years of immunotherapy before they could perform the surgery so that I could actually heal from the surgery.

One of the big things for me after I finally healed from surgery: I COULD SMELL! There had been so many smells that I hadn't really been able to smell and it was nice. So I hope that in Peter's case he is finally able to get some good, restful sleep! I wish him a speedy recovery, and I hope his recovery is not fraught with too much worry and stress on your end. *snugs*

So my fiance called me about an hour ago. He was woken up at 4am because his mother's dog, Teddy, had peed blood in his sleep. So they wouldn't have to pay off another emergency vet bill, they waited till it was morning and took him to their normal vet clinic (Animal Medical clinic on Lion Parkway, Columbia, Tn). He couldn't call off work, so his mom called in late and explicitly told the vet NOT to let the dog out of the crate and that she didn't want ANYTHING to happen to him. "Don't worry. I'm a professional."

My fiance gets a call. The vet asst. took Teddy out of his crate, put him on one of their leashes (which is just a choke-rope lead), and took him OUTSIDE of the building to go to the bathroom.

1. He's at the vet because of bladder issues. Is it really a good idea to take a dog out when he was peeing blood? 2. The vet was told NOT to take him out of the crate for any reason. He's not leash trained. 3. Why outside of the building when they have a fenced in area in the back?

Needless to say, the asst lost control of the leash and he ran. Did they run after him? Only so many steps before giving up. So now random people in the Columbia, TN area are looking for a dark red-brown long-haired Chihuahua known by the name of Teddy with NO collar and a vet rope leash. He had his old collar on with a rabies tag.

My fiance alerted both vet clinics, humane society, and pound. They'll be putting an ad in the paper tomorrow morning, hopefully. They hope someone has found him and is taking care of him, hoping to find his owners.

I'm just thoroughly pissed at the vet clinic and the vet asst for doing something against an owner's wish. Why would you go against the owner's verbal words "don't take him out of the crate for anything except to evaluate him" did they not understand?

-edit- 02/26

So more information, there was no trace of the dog anywhere. No footprints in the mud, no pieces of fur, no leash, nothing. The conclusion has been drawn that someone stole the dog inside the clinic...

My fiance has posted flyers in a 25 mile radius, contacted all vet clinics in that general radius, and made personal visits to the humane center. I've suggested he make a facebook note or group and having the word spread via the internet as well.

Eve: Was it a pure-breed dog?

Bri: I hope he has a speedy recovery!

Yeah, he's pure-breed American Long-Haired Chihuahua.

Yeah, he's pure-breed American Long-Haired Chihuahua.

Well, that would give a reason as to why they would take him.
But I hope he's found!

That's what we're worried about, that someone from a puppy mill took him. >< Or that the clinic did something completely stupid that harmed Teddy, like drop him on his back.

@_@
Still recovering, but well enough to come in for a moment to let everyone know everything is going okay.

They took these out of my nose:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Felt rather weird. If I had to describe it:
Something akin to have a chest-burster (From the Alien Anthology) pop out and say "Hello!"

But I don't feel the pressure or pain from the silicone anymore. Thats a bonus!

Hope everyone is well.
@Eve: Sorry to hear about the dog. I hope things go well and he is recovered soon.
