The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass was shown today at the Game Developers Conference. It is the Nintendo DS Zelda game and looks like a sequel to the Wind Waker, moreover, it looks almost exactly like the Wind Waker and seems to use the touch-screen in most of the game. It'll also have connectivity to The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess. Planned to launch later this year (not sure if he meant Japan or US, probably Japan though).

Gameplay video

And as I said earlier in backlog with Skizz, the Nintendo Revolution will also have Sega Genesis and TurboGrafix games avaliable through Revo's download feature. Not all the games, but some of the best. Sonic, anyone? domokun

*Coughhackhackhack* Neeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddddd..

Me: Dad, lookit the Zelda DS game.
*shows gameplay video*
Dad: Okay... I gotta get myself a DS.

Zely: Not even if the Revo were to cost as low as, say, $99? ninja

Skizz: The PS3 was supposed to come out this May as projected by Sony, but they recently delayed it until later '06, I believe. Revo is supposed to be launched sometime during the Thankgiving holiday.
If it cost $99, I'd me much more likely to get it. Still not higher on my priority list than PS3 though.

Is revolution directly backwards compatible?

Not entirely sure how Revos backwards compatibility works, but as I've heard you can download games for a fee however you can play them online for free (don't quote me on this, this is all heresay). Gamecube games, I believe, will be the only thing you can directly pop into the Revo and play.
I meant Game Cube games. If it's that cheap and can play GC games directly, I'll probably pick it up sometime.

That means "at the same time" doesn't it. gonk

Hard to say, Revo isn't really using super high-tech hardware and thus I can expect the Revo to be out by Thanksgiving. However, because of Sony's use of the Cell, Blu-Ray, and other devices I can see a possibility of them holding it back until Christmas '06, or possibly '07 if need be. If you have to make a choice, I'd say go for the Revo because of the lower cost (due to less extreme hardware) and games that'll be ready for launch, like Super Smash Bros. Revolution, which'll have online to boot. [/Nerd]

Famous D's roomie says they're posting for November.

Werd, I also suspect a November release for the PS3, the only thing that holds me back from believing it more than a Christmas belief is the hardware. But aside from that I could totally see a November release so as not to be the last one into the fray and possibly lose out on a lot of business. Too early a release is bad and too late a release is bad. It certainly would be interesting to see Revo and PS3 release on the same day, or close to the same day.

It'll probably end up being the cheapest of the three because of the fact it isn't using the very latest hardware and such, hell, I think they're only gonna hit 512mb of ram. But there is also Super Smash Bros. Revolution, online, which had me sold just like Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3. xd

I could update my list to include everything in the text Shopping List file I keep...but I would probably single-handedly break Gaia by doing so.

I like my wishlist. It's nowhere near as crazy as the rest of yours, but I still have less of a chance of ever getting it.

Although, of course, my real wishlist is "everything." ninja
