Well, the site has already revealed 23 characters, which is 3 short of what Melee had in total. wink

Then you consider the fact that maybe around 8 or 9 of the hidden characters will return...excluding the bad clones...

That makes 31-32 characters. PLUS the newcomers that have yet to be revealed.

I would be honestly disappointed if the character total didn't inch up to 50.

50 is a bit much to expect dont you think? I am looking for 40 and any higher will be a pleasant surprise, Look to high like 50+ and odds are they wont reach your personal opinion of what the game should have

I think either number is just fine. But 50 characters does sound extremely good. 8D

50 was my number for a long time as well, but honestly look at the Scale of this game, Countless classic Nintendo, Konami and Sega Music tracks, Create a stage, daily Online level patches, Screenshots and Trophy/Sticker caps. Not to mention we have no idea the run time of the SSE or it's replayability yet. Again 50 would be awesome and all but looking forward to way too much is not a good idea for such a freaking massive game.

True, but with that many characters added in, the massivity of Brawl shall increase. Meaning that there'll be a better chance that your favourite characters will get an appearance, there'll be a good variety of people to play as and it'll just be even better because of it.

I bet they will. Though, the majority will have to be made up of Secret Characters.
There hasn't been an update about SC's, but it's obvious enough there will be (looking back at the previous Smash games).

I bet that Snake and Sonic are unlockable characters and I am sure that there will be unlockable vets like Jiggs and Luigi and such, it's just a matter of time before we all know the roster, that time is the Japan release Date.

50 characters would actually be quite fun.It will be fun having to choose from 50 characters but they do need to bring characters like Captain Falcon and Luigi(even Jigglypuff.I wanna beat the crap out of that puffball gonk ) back in Brawl. But then again,it would probably get out of control.I mean,if Nintendo continues with their non nintendo characters being in SSB,fans will be begging Nintendo with messages like "yOu sHOUld pUT sPYro in sUPA smASH brOS. [insert title of next Super Smash Bros game here]."And plus it wouldn't be much of a Nintendo game.

So I say they shouldn't put too many like 50 in,for now.I know they are probably going to reveal at least three more and one more non nintendo character in Brawl.I would say Nintendo will put in 30-40 Characters in Brawl.

I have returned from letting this thread go to the second page!

@Fox: January.....
@Sauvie: Not so sure about that. In the Demo, Sonic was one of the Starter characters.
@Both of you: 50 is a great number, it really is. I would s**t my pants of that happened (lol, then post it on youtube). But it seems like a lost number out there. That's nearly twice as many characters than they have shown so far. I beleive they're gonna show one more character on the Dojo (there's one slot left open for it to be even) and a few more hidden characters. They gotta save something for the next game, don't they? @Sauvie: Not so sure about that. In the Demo, Sonic was one of the Starter characters.
The demo means nothing at this point, for all we know Metaknight, Ike, Pit and Diddy may be unlockabe. But Sakurai and Kojima both agreed that Guest fighters should be earned by the Playing public. The Demo with sonic might just of had him because of all the massive hype surrounding Sonic V. Mario for the first time.

I am being realistic because if I hope for too little out of the Character roster Iodds are I cant be anything but imressed and surprised. Not to mention I think that 43 (in my opinion) will be the number, I have no idea why, but 43 seems like a good call in my opinion.

Also somebody Shoot Allegro xd
