Toby offered Oscar the printouts in his hand, and then decided he didn't want to get that close and set the packet on the book shelf.
"I'll leave this with you."

Oscar gave Toby a skeptical look before snatching the newspaper off of the bookshelf. He carefully flipped through it, finding page nine. "This isn't even today's newspaper," he grumbled.

"Uh, no, but you might recognize the general... date-range."
There were articles from the same newspaper surrounding what they were truly there to show the man; his own obituary from nearly fifty years ago.

Oscar read over the page, and his upset became worse. His eyes widened. "I'm...this is me?" He pointed to the picture. One of his children had written about him. "But this can't be. I'm here."

"You are," Toby agreed, "but it's been fifty years. You're telekinetic, you're alone, you're forgetting, someone else legally owns the house, because you're dead." He frowned with honest concern. He didn't usually have to do this, especially not with a conscious entity.
"That's Michael's area of expertise, though. He can help you better than I can."

Oscar swallowed. The whole house shook, books falling off the shelves haphazardly. The China hutch opened and dishes began to fall out, shattering.
"No," the ghost shook his head.

Toby knew he should walk out but didn't want to. He felt terrible.
"I'm sorry." He side-stepped and dodged a falling book.

Oscar looked to Toby. He seemed to be calming. At least, fewer things seemed to be falling. "I want Michael," he said clearly. "You can stay," he pointed to the couch. "Sit."

Toby's brows raised and his eyes widened. okay. Calming and also orders. Hopefully Michael was actually around if s**t got dangerous. How odd was it that this ghost operated during the day, anyway? Maybe more did it than people knew and just didn't notice.
"Alright." Toby shuffled to the nearest chair and sat, watching Oscar. "MICHAEL?"
Outside, he could hear Dari's voice, likely also calling for the ghost.
Michael appeared in the back doorway and leaned over to look in the door-window. "May I?" Come in, of course.

Michael! There he was! At the sight of him, Oscar visibly relaxed. "Come in," he invited, beckoning Michael in. "Toby and I were talking," he said. "He has to stay inside until I say so."

Michael was utterly calm. Toby's eyes were still a bit wide.
"Certainly," Michael said, and rather than opening the door stepped through, "How can I help?"

Oscar offered Michael the packet Toby had given him. "I'm dead," he said. "But I'm here. I don't want to forget again."

Michael took the packet of papers, but didn't look at it. He didn't need to.
"I know," he said, "I'm dead too, and I'm here. We can help you to not forget." He offered a deep nod.

Oscar looked at Michael. Yes, he'd said he was like him. "Did you forget, too?" He asked. "How do I stop forgetting?"

"I've forgotten many things, yes," Michael said. it had never been his name, but that was beside the point. It was the forgetting that was unnerving.
"Many as experienced as we are have lost their minds by now, so you should be proud of that. You are still a person at heart. The only way to stop forgetting for certain, though, is to cross over."
