David watched Kalila walk over. "So the other group is on it's way then?" David asked with enthusiasm.
"Great!" Sarah said, excited. She wanted to meet everyone. Unlike her husband, Sarah usually made a good first impression. She was ready to meet Nina, out of all of Alex's friends Nina was the only one Sarah hadn't truly got to talk to... Sure she had seen her once or twice, but other then that there wasn't any major communication.
Alex felt terrible, but it felt like he was getting better. His fever, which was really high, he could feel going down. He wasn't being hindered by the pain as much, but it was still there. Alex looked at Eri, who's skin was already turning... less pale... and she was breathing quietly. Then he heard his parents. The whole group turned around a corner to hear his mom's enthusiastic comment.
Sarah saw the group out of the corner of her eye. She had been worried about them the whole time they were separated. Now she felt relieved. She ran over and gave Alex a hug.
"Uh... Mom?" Alex asked, slightly embarrassed that his mom was showing so much affection in front of all these people.
Sarah stopped hugging him, then looked at him. Her eyes went wide, her motherly instincts going into overdrive. "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!" Sarah said rather loudly, putting her hand to her son's forehead. "You're burning up!" She said, staring at him.
Alex looked to Mizuki, then Nicholas. He DID NOT want to be the one to tell his mom he got injected with the vaccine.
Seeing Alex look towards Mizuki, Sarah did the same. She gasped "What are you doing!?" She stomped over and promptly took Eri off his back. "She's in NO CONDITION to be moved around AT ALL let along LIKE THAT!" Sarah said, holding Eri as if she was a baby. Wrapping her arm around from behind Eri she felt her forehead. "Well her fever is getting better..." She said with a relieved sigh.
David was laughing so hard at Sarah's over-reaction that he had already fallen over backwards.
Alex just wanted to curl up and die. His mom was way overprotective of children...
Sarah stared daggers at Mizuki. "You..." She said pointing a finger at Mizuki, then she waved it side to side "Never do that again..." She said, giving a threatening stare. She walked over to Alex and handed Eri to him without thinking.
Alex buckled slightly under the weight. Looking at Eri's calm expression, he didn't want to wake her. Although he knew that he couldn't carry her for long. Letting out a long sigh, he looked at Nikita. "You wanted to carry her... right?" He asked, looking back at Eri.
David wiped some water from his eye (from crying), walking over towards Alex, he heard what he said. David began to wander why his son wouldn't want to carry her... Did something happen while they were gone?... AND WHY DID ALEX LOOK LIKE HE WAS HIT BY A TRUCK!? David walked over to the group, standing beside Alex and looking at Eri. "Well it appears the vaccine worked..." David said, smiling at Alex.
Alex smiled back, moving a stray hair out of Eri's face. Swallowing his pride he walked over to Nikita and offered her out to him...

Mizuki had been about to relay his plan to Nicholas. About to tell him of his idea to place Eri and Alex in the safety of the manager's booth where they could both recooperate in a safe confined space with access to the speakers should anything untoward begin to happen. This would keep them safe from the conflict that was creeping ever closer with the increasing urgency of cleansing their new base camp.

However, no sooner was he about to open his mouth than an eccentric shout out distracted him. It seemed they were closer to the other group than he had predicted. Mizuki shut his mouth and grinned. Though he was sure the voice he had heard was Sarah's, he was more excited about seeing Kalila. He sincerely hoped she wasn't pissed at him for running off during the fight earlier. After all, his intentions had been noble. As they rounded the corner his first impression of Sarah was as a mad dashing blur that soon wrapped herself around Alex. A small smile curled in the corners of his mouth, more so at Alex's evident embarrassment rather than at the touching display of reunion going on before him.

Alex caught his eyes for a moment and began to feel the chill of discomfort in his gut. Hell, if her own son didn't want to be the one to spill the beans then he couldn't imagine the hell that break loose should he, the one Sarah didn't trust or like, was to drop a bomb shell like that. All these feelings conveyed in the look he shot Alex back. He was not given much time however before Sarah engulfed him.
Despite protesting about the fragilty of Eri's state, Sarah sure as hell wasn't gentle in snatching her away from him. True the knots in the fabric hadn't been incredibly tight to begin with, but the force of the grab was enough to whack them against his skin so hard that they came undone. He stood there in mild shock, absently rubbing his collar bone where the wristknot had whacked him royally and staring at her in suprise.
As he was told off, Mizuki became more like the teenager he was, reverting into a sullen sulk. He stared sulkily at the ground, his hands stuffed into his pockets and his shoulders rolled.
He took her anger, and was secretly grateful for it. It reminded him of his own mother.

This gratitude was completely wiped clean however when Eri was promptly dumped on Alex. Now that was something Mizuki couldn't agree with.
He shot Sarah a sharp stare.
"Now come on! She made it here alive didn't she?!" He retorted before he could stop himself. He looked from her to Alex. "Do you trust me that little that you'd snatch her off of me in this state and drop her onto a boy that can barely carry his own weight right now?!"
Only after his angry outburst did he realise his criticism wouldn't go down well. However, less worried about Sarah's feelings, he swiftly shot Alex an apologetic look. He hadn't meant it at all to be a slight on Alex. Not at all.

His ego, battered by Sarah's complete lack of faith and the fact that she talked to him like a child. (Had she so quickly forgotten that Mizuki had been there to bandage her wound only an hour or so before?!) was now completely pulversized. He watched with utter disdain and boiling agitation as Alex began to walk in the direction of Nikita.
After their blow out earlier, Mizuki could just imagine the smug look on the bastards face. His teeth grit and his eyes narrowed as he turned his face away in disgust. His anger at the injustice of the situation was starting to do more than make his blood boil. It was starting to make him hungry. . .

Sarah sighed, she put a hand on Mizuki's shoulder. "You are misunderstanding. I trust you one hundred percent. I realize that you brought her here safely. BUT!" She said, looking Mizuki's eyes. "Untill I fully examine the blood I got from you, as far as I care you are both infected..." She said, covering her mouth. He hadn't exactly given him the blood... she had sorta taken it on accident. Uncovering her mouth, she realized that there was nothing she could do about it. "Untill two infected kill together, they are sworn enemies. You and Eri should not be close to each other. Eventually one of you will snap, it's just a matter of time. However Eri has already succesfully accepted the vaccine... So that just leaves you..." She said to him. Even still, they had to examine his blood, which was locked snuggly in her metal briefcase.
David just sat in the background. He didn't want to get in the middle of this.

Mizuki's eyes widened in shock.
She had his blood!?!
His stomach became cold and his palms began to sweat. He wasn't a scientist - but he knew what she would find. And what then?
They would all know. The would realise that he was different from your average crazy. And what then? They'd kill him. Who'd want a biological timebomb in their midst in a time of desperate survival? Either that or he'd get sent off to some facelss cold lab to have his blood siphoned until he was near dead. Allowed to rest. Then have it all happen again in some desperate search for a cure? Maybe Mizuki did have the cure in him. Maybe he didn't. And he wasn't afraid to admit to himself that he was selfish enough to want to live a real life rather than some comatose organic medicine farm to cure bastards that he didn't even know or care about. And what if he didn't? What then? He'd he discected and ******** knows what else.
As he looked at Sarah inside he wanted nothing more than to slap her as hard as he ******** could. He fought to keep this intense hatred away and instead stared sullenly at the floor.
He wanted to shout at her. Scream at her even.
You stupid ******** b***h!! Couldn't you keep your nose out! Couldn't you have had the decency to die in some ******** hole away from here. Away from our group?!

Instead, he swallowed and sighed, his shoulders heaving in mock defeat.
"I understand your concern." He said softly, then lifting his head, all anger clear of his expression he looked at her pleadingly. "But I promise you there is nothing wrong with me. I have no symptoms. I haven't been bitten. If I had contracted the virus you would have seen it as you have seen it in Eri."
Mizuki knew this appeal wouldn't work. He had no doubts Sarah could not be swayed on the matter. But he hoped to appeal to the others in the group. People like Alex, Kalila, Nicholas. People who didn't need the facts.
Mizuki had come to love select members of his group like the family he'd lost. And he could see all the ripped away from him by one stupid little b***h and her suitcase.
The angrier he got, the more he needed food. He could feel the strange forewarning in the joints of his jaws. A sensation of aching that proceeded his usual hunger pangs.
He couldn't let her do this to him. He couldn't loose a family. Not again.
He'd kill if he needed to, to protect this group and its current state.

Though he didn't look to Alex with his eyes, he did so with his mind. No, killing Sarah would be a very last option. He'd lost a mother and didn't want anyone else to share that pain. In this he was not so selfish.
He allowed a small part of him to think what might happen if she was allowed a chance to examine his blood. Maybe there was a slim chance that the virus was so deeply entwined with his own DNA that it wouldn't show up properly. He almost wanted to ask what would happen if he was infected. But he already knew what the answer would be. What would happen if he refused the vaccine. Knowing it attacked the virus, and knowing that in some way he and the virus were linked - he knew his rate of survival was slim.

Kalila smiled happily and nodded in answer to David's question. She also reflected the his wife's excitement in a grin. However, the smile disappeared in an instant, as if it never existed. It was replaced by a look of dread for she had heard footsteps, multiple footsteps. Her katana was back up in a fighting position. A few seconds later, she sighed in relief and her stance relaxed when she saw Ada and, a few seconds after her, the rest of the group come through some isles. She had sheathed her katana. Luckily for her, Mizuki and Nicholas had come into her view at the same time. She smacked a hand over her mouth and ran to them. She hadn't noticed Eri on Mizuki's back for whatever reason.
"Thanks Ada!" She whispered to the Russian woman quickly as she ran past her to the two males. Ada had smirked and said it wasn't a problem in return. Kalila squeezed both of their torsos tightly, however relaxed the arm around Mizuki when she remembered his earlier injury from the infected dog. "That's for leaving without telling us anything." Kalila reasoned aloud, muffled into Mizuki's shirt stubbornly, though in actuality it had been a lapse of memory. She would have gone for Nicholas' shirt, but he wasn't as clean and un-bloody-covered as Mizuki. They hadn't been gone too terribly long, but every moment away from them felt like an eternity. After all, it only took a small bit of fluid to end a life as they knew it and make it into a freak of nature. That's when she noticed a pair of tied wrists near the top of her head and Eri on the young man's back. Vaccinated...? I guessed right then.

"That's not fair..." Nicholas said in a hitched voice. "Can't... Breathe!" he whined, however he still petted his sister on the head. Kalila immediately loosened her grip.
Kalila went to grab Alex in a hug too, Sarah still attached if need be, to add to her group of loved ones, but stopped her hand from snatching at him when she noticed his condition. He looked feverish and weak. This ruined Kalila's mood, she slowly let go of her little brother and Mizuki. Depression has physical effects... But, that’s just too much. She thought as she stood solemnly looking at the young man. She had stepped away from them to look at the group in a more third-person view to make sure Eri and Alex weren't the only ones out of whack. Her eyes caught Nikita. She noticed he looked like he was fuming with anger and mumbling to himself before Sarah irrupted in her motherly worry. The scientist's reaction made a slight smile appear on her face.
Nicholas looked to Mizuki and then back at Alex. He wasn't sure if he wanted Motherly fury to be wrought in his direction. He watched the verbal battle as he had an inner battle on if he should be the one to tell Sarah what happened or not. It didn't help that Kalila had poked him and whispered the same question to him. He told his sister pretty much everything and it was hard to stop himself from telling her now. However, he waited.

When Sarah noticed Mizuki carrying Eri she had stormed past Kalila, nearly pushing her out of the way without noticing to reach the young man. As Mizuki received a verbal scolding, Nikita couldn't help but smirk. He sent Mizuki a smug look. Kalila was outraged by Sarah's reaction.
"Mrs. Marshall!" She said in a disbelieving tone. "They could have been in physical danger! There are plenty of reasons why they would need to move her." She said pointing at Eri with her nose. She was in Alex's arms now. "What are you doing?!" She asked Sarah in the same disbelieving tone as before, except this time it resounded with maternal worry.
However, Alex handed Eri off to Nikita quickly. Nicholas let out a sigh that sounded exasperated. He had been watching Sarah yell at Mizuki right in front of him. Not only was he confused at if he should tell Sarah or not but now Nikita had won a small battle. One positive came from it though: At least Alex wasn't straining himself.
"Ignore the @$$hole..." Nicholas mumbled to Mizuki quickly before Nikita did anything.
Nikita carefully took up Eri, holding her somewhere between bride-style and the way one holds a baby. He walked over to Ada, telling her in Russian to protect him and Eri because he couldn't shoot. Ada nodded, looking warily at the limp girl in his hands and then at the wires extending from the roof to the floor to the door. As soon as that was situated, Nikita glanced at Mizuki, sneering at him and then smirking. The more Sarah and his argument continued the smugger he looked. He gained one thing from loosing the first battle, he achieved the look of a “good guy,” or at least maintained neutral party.
Kalila had caught the oddity and wondered what was going on.

When Mizuki had gone on and rebelliously yelled at one of the eldest people in the group, it both scared him into talking and encouraged him to speak. To contradicting things molded into his speech.
"Alex accidentally got injected with the vaccine." Nicholas mumbled and his sister gasp right next him. "It was a true accident though, so don't go yelling at us!" He said with a frown at the scientist. "He slipped on blood." the younger sibling stated bluntly.
The siblings flinched at the same time when Sarah mentioned the blood she had gotten from Mizuki earlier. The way she had gotten it seemed forced to cynical minds like the siblings. Ada, who didn’t fully trust them from the start and probably never would, felt the same way. However, she didn't particularly care for Mizuki as the siblings did. Therefore, it didn't bother her. It just reminded her of how she shouldn't really trust scientists. Kalila watched Sarah carefully and then Mizuki's reaction carefully. Her heart resented the slightest idea of Mizuki being infected, but her brain begged otherwise. While, in general this subject made Nicholas uncomfortable. Seeing Mizuki's reaction made Kalila's heart hitch.
It's as if Sarah doesn't like Mizuki... David either. They keep suspecting him. What makes them suspect him instead of rest of us. Kalila thought unfairly with her heart. This thought had been produced by the side of her who refused to accept any evidence. Yet... The way he eats. her logical side thought, remembering when they were at Nina's house. When Mizuki spoke his side, without thinking about it Kalila lightly grabbed his hand. The movement had caught in Nicholas's peripheral vision and he looked down at the hand clasped around the other.
Nicholas was split in many different directions again. His sister's safety, his brotherly jealousy, that slight doubt about Mizuki, and his annoyance at letting his blood be tested were all one the negative side. Maybe he has an STD... Nicholas tried to joke with himself. It worked to cheer him up for a little bit, however he realized how serious that was as well. It fell under the category of his sister's safety. His all-around brotherly love and friendship with Mizuki, his and his sister's life being rescued multiple time by Mizuki, and the happiness he brought his older sister played at the positive end of the spectrum. Nicholas brought a hand up and clasped a hand on his brother-figure's shoulder.

Kalila's hand squeezed Mizuki's had and then let go. She looked at David, since Sarah was too wrapped up in the situation in her mind. It was hard to see someone she looked up to as much as Sarah go against the person she loved.
"Hey... hey! Let's not worry about this now. We should go on and lock the rest of the doors like we had originally planned. Ones we're safer than we are now, we'll get to it... Ok?" she sounded as if she had authority through the whole thing, but at the final question she sounded like a scared child.
"Draaa-Ma!" Nicholas said in an immitation gay voice that Mizuki and him had messed around with earlier. "But, no seriously, I agree. Let's go lock those enterances." He said monotouniuosly as he looked at his sister. She smiled and whispered something to him. He laughted and smiled. "Hey, Alex! Nina, Jain, and them are coming soon." Nicholas said looking back at him. He was too busy talking with Mizuki to have heard anything.

As Eri was unconscious, she was seeing some pretty strange things going on. She saw pure red. It might have just been her eyelids, but the young teenager didn't want to have this color right in front of her. She detested it.

It was the color of blood.

As Eri laid weakly on Mizuki's back, she was having a nightmare.

'The group looked at her coldly, even Nikita and Ada had their guns aimed. "Eri.... Why did you..." Nikita said coldly, Eri blinking at this sudden question. What did he mean?? Had she done anything?? "What...?" She asked quietly as he looked down. Eri looked down to see Alex on the floor, covered in blood. "..What is this...?" She said, looking up. "Why is he on the floor....?" She said softly, soon receiving an angry death-glare from Sarah. "You bit him... He's dead." She said, obviously so close to killing her that her legs and arms were quivering in the desperate need for movement. Eri looked fearful as she backed up. "I couldn't have bit him... Why would I do tha--" She was cut off by a sudden yanking sensation moved her over to the wall, a gun being held to her head. "You did it Eri, you killed him. We can't let you stay with us anymore." Ada said coldly, Eri bit her lip and looked down, shocked at what she saw...
She was covered in blood.....
"I...I really did it... didn't I....." She said, placing her hand to her chest. "....I...I couldn't have..!" She said, suddenly being pulled close in a soft hold by the one who was holding a gun to her head about two seconds ago. "I know Eri..... I know you didn't mean to..... but I'm afraid you can't be with us anymore... I'm sorry.." She said softly, smiling, then putting the gun to Eri's head, pulling the trigger.....'

And that's when Eri's eyes opened wide, worry extremely apparent as her eyes darted around, soon finding Alex. She sighed in relief, putting her hand to her face, her hand warm. "...Hm?" She looked at her hand, looking at the more.... human-like color... her hand had become. She smiled slightly and looked to the one carrying her. Nikita..... Her gaze soon looked downward as remembered her dream. She was sure if she looked at Ada, her eyes would fill with tears. She sighed warily and looked To Mizuki quietly. "Why is he being yelled at...?" She said softly, looking worried. "What's happened...?" Biting her lip, she stared at the glare Mizuki held in his eyes, gulping. 'He's upset... Did Sarah figure him out..?' She looked down again, placing a hand on her face, her eyes closed. 'God... Now I have a headache...' She thought, shaking her head, her concentration shifting to Alex. He was okay...ish. She did nothing to him. He was still living. "...Hn...?" She realized her eyes had filled with tears when she turned her face away, wiping her eyes, then looking back at Alex, smiling. "So... Alex..." She smiled softly. "Are you better now..?" She said her voice was soft. "I'm sorry you got hurt." She said, an apologetic expression on her face. "I hope the after effects aren't too bad from when you fell..." She had no clue about Sarah's reaction, honestly not caring if she got upset at the moment, focusing entirely on Alex's health. "You're feeling better... right...??" She was still smiling, a slight blush much less pale then before on her light skin. She looked much more... teen-like. She pulled her platinum-blonde hair behind her ear, knowing he was probably still weak... But he should be okay. That stuff couldn't hurt him. She just knew it. She was perfectly okay now, not very hungry at all... but thirsty, like she was dehydrated. She cleared her throat. She was weak herself, and even small movements like lifting an arm to cover her mouth as she cleared her throat was difficult... She rested her head on Nikita's chest, her cheeks still red as she sighed. "I'm tired..." She said softly, her eyes closed. Then she heard something about other people coming soon. More people...? Ah... More survivors to help them... She smiled at this. "More people are coming...?" She said to Nicholas, knowing that they don't talk much, she retracted slightly after speaking. "That sounds nice...." She said, looking down. "The more people, the easier it'll be to guard the building, right...?" She asked, hiding her face in Nikita's shirt, as if she changed, flipped like a switch. It seemed that now that she had less of an inner conflict she became more introverted, like she had been before, quiet and nervous, always thinking to herself rather than speaking aloud.....
A total wimp all over again, a girl with no heightened senses, just a normal, sickly teenager who was afraid to speak her mind in fear of being hated.
Well.... That's just GREAT.....

Sarah's eyes went wide as Nicholas said her son had been injected with the vaccine. "WHAT!!!" She yelled, ignoring his suggestion not to yell. Immediately she covered her mouth and listening for any infected. Removing her hands she looked at them. "B-B-But it hasn't been tested on non-infected... We don't know what could happen..." She said, forcing herself to stay calm. Her arms were shaking. Her son had been injected with something that would more then likely kill him...
Alex watched his mom's reaction. Then he heard a voice. Looking back, he smiled seeing Eri had woken up. "Yeah... I'm feeling a little weak, but otherwise I am getting better." He said. He was saying this as much towards Eri as he was his own mother.
David saw that Eri had woken up and walked up to her. He saw Nikita pull away slightly, but he grabbed his arm firmly to keep him from squirming away. David looked at Eri, putting his hand against her forehead. She had a slight fever. Good he thought. Looking at her, her skin was getting redder, more human looking than before. That's a plus... he also thought, smiling, he released Nikita from his grip. "Well, it seems the vaccine has worked on Eri, and has taken full affect..." He said, trying to change the subject.
Sarah smiled at the little bit of good news. She looked slightly down. She didn't seem as chipper anymore, it happened every time Sarah argued with someone. Her age seemed to catch up with her. Turning back towards Metzli, Sarah sighed. "I am sorry I snapped at you. I'm just a little frustrated. Getting my mouth all messed up, my son looking like crap, and all these damn infected... I just finally snapped, and I'm sorry...." She said bowing her head a little towards Mizuki.
Alex blinked slightly, he hadn't ever seen his mom appologise for anything... unlike his father, his mom was more controlled and never did anything 'bad'. Shrugging it off, he walked over to Eri. "So she's all better?" He asked his dad.
"It seems so..." David said, stepping out of Alex's way.
Alex walked up to Nikita, he didn't show the same caution as he did with Alex's dad. If he did then Alex didn't notice it. Alex looked at Eri, his face a few inches from hers. "You have no idea how much you scared me when you stabbed yourself with that needle..."
Sarah snapped back to reality. "Stabbed herself?" She asked herself quietly. "Why the heck would she do that? She didn't even know what was in it...?" She asked anyone in particular who was listening.
Alex ignored his mom, watching Eri. He put his forehead against hers, confirming his father's diagnosis. "It did work..." He said. Alex always used his forehead for fevers... he didn't trust his hands to do it. Alex then realized something. Now that she was un-infected, even if it was for a short amount of time, he could kiss her... He couldn't do that before...
David stopped paying attention to Alex and Eri. He didn't particullarly care what they did, his brain had already ran the whole 'She's un-infected for now' scenerio.
Sarah however was watching them like a hawk. She wanted to seperate them, but she knew she couldn't do that, especially with the whole 'infecteds are EVERYWHERE' thing.
Alex's face blushed bright red when he imagined kissing Eri. Pulling his face away from hers he was talking faster than usual. "Umm... Don'twe need to seal up thisplace or something..." He said speaking much faster than usual.

She smiled in relief as Alex said he was alright, a quiet smile still on her face as David came up to her, then set his hand on her forehead. His hand was cold and she almost reached out to hold it there, but she refrained and let him remove his hand, a light tint of disappointment in her eyes, then happiness as he said that the vaccine was working on her. She blinked then giggled when she realized she was switching emotions like a light switch. "Wow.." She muttered to herself, soon finding the woman from before... Sarah, if she could recall, apologizing to Mizuki.

Eri watched Sarah apologize, an intrigued look on her face as her deep amber eyes stared at the back of the woman's head. the brown haired woman, Sarah, seemed to feel bad for yelling..... Well it's expected seeing the circumstances aren't very... well... y'know....

They weren't the most fun circumstances one could be faced with.

She looked to Alex as he walked up to her, her face going a deep shade of red only described as 'Completely Obviously Embarrassed' on her face, her eyes looked down as he got closer to her, her face became deeper and deeper red until the shade lowered to her neck because so much blood had rushed to her face. But it all went away when he when he got close to her face. She smiled at this, a light shade of pink still on her cheeks as he expressed his worry. "I could only think about... if I got rid of that stuff.... You wouldn't have to carry it, and you wouldn't get stabbed in the same place if you were to fall again...I was concerned, Alex...." She said softly, smiling at him with the golden eyes that held affection and worry. She blinked when he suddenly put his forehead to her's, his head seeming cooler than hers, she smiled and closed her eyes at the pleasant feeling. She was feeling affection. She was feeling happiness. She was feeling something.....

She knew for a fact would not last once they got out of the situation.

She opened her eyes as a feeling of insecurity made her slightly upset, but her eyes met with Alex's bright red face as he suddenly moved away. "....?" Then it hit her. He WAS a boy after all, right... and with their faces so close, they could have k--

"Y-Yeah..He's...He's right...! We gotta.....W-We gottasealupthisplace... r-right..?" She said, looking down, her face flushed in embarrassment at her own epiphany. Why hadn't she realized this before...??? Their faces were so close, if she were to just lean forward about a centimeter she would have--

'I'm such an IDIOT~!' She complained to herself, squeezing her eyes shut, her face bright red again. 'I completely missed my chance! For now, I'm uninfected, right?? Why hadn't I taken the chance?!?! I'm supposed to be this amazing honor student' She looked to Alex, her eyes soon darting down. "U-u-um... N...Nikita... I can...I think I can walk on my own, so can...can you put me down please...?" She said, her head tilted down, but her embarrassed eyes looking up at Nikita's. "I..I'm fine...now... I think...."

((Alright guys, I have some not so good news. I got my schedule for school today. School's starting the 11th of this month for me. I will not be posting as frequently as before... I might post once a week only if I'm lucky.
School hasn't even started yet and I have an essay to do, two or three more books to read (Even after I did all the summer reading I knew about crying ), get school stuff ready, plan out a few thing, make a few things, and go to work everyday...
So... Basically what I'm trying to say... is be patient with me and don't leave me in the dust. You may post, of course. Just don't post so much that it'll take me forever to read it all and react to it.))

Kalila and Nicholas both cringed at Sarah's reaction. It was loud and it had made the older sibling nervous. She looked about to make sure nothing was coming. She felt just as upset as Sarah did for Alex’s safety, but she had just faced a couple infected that came to her because of noise. She was scared for everyone. However, when she noticed nothing was coming, so she visibly relaxed. Nicholas was annoyed that Sarah had done exactly what she had told her not to do. She may have been his superior in many ways, but she was not in charge of him by any means, especially now that the world had plunged headfirst into Hell.
"Huh...?" Nicholas asked, looking back from Alex to Eri. He wasn't use to talking directly to Eri. It felt unnatural. As what she said sunk in, he quickly nodded. "Oh, yeah, more people are coming. Two of 'em are our friends." he said pointing from himself to Kalila and Alex in a circular motion. Eri commented on guarding the building. Nicholas smirked sarcastically. "Yeah... Easier to guard the building because we have more people at risk to turn infected." He said with an equal amount of sarcasm. He toned it down a bit, "But, no, seriously, Nina's a beast when it comes to knowing about zombies... She's probably as good as a person can get without being a medical expert of some sort like Mr. and Mrs. Marshall."
Ada couldn't help but roll her eyes. It was great that they were getting another infected expert, but did they really have to have so many teenagers in one group. She hoped they would gain something helpful, besides Nina, from the group about to arrive. Nikita's testosterone driven self couldn't help but wonder if this Nina and 'Jane' (That's what he thought was the spelling) were hot. Thought was in his head and out with a few seconds. He would worry about such things when time came to it. David and Alex coming up to him for Eri helped push the thoughts out of his mind faster, however: especially when David grabbed his arms. If anything pushes the thoughts of pretty women out of a straight man's mind and makes them feel disgusted instead, it would be the grip of another man. The whole situation was extremely awkward for him as well. When Alex and the girl in arms almost shared an intimate moment, he had told hold himself back from dropping the girl and just wailing on the young man. Not only for his need to protect Eri, but more so for disrespecting him so much as to do something like t hat while he was still holding her.
"Yes... We do need to seal up this place..." Kalila said after Eri agreed with Alex. She had spoke through clenched jaws due to annoyance at no one advancing to take care of the situation at hand. She mentally thanked the young couple for, at least, wanting to continue with what they were supposed to do. She couldn't help notice Nikita looked ready to explode. Nicholas turned his attention to Mizuki, showing only him he was holding in laughter. Nikita's circumstance was hilarious and Alex and Eri, to him, seemed so stupid.

When Eri asked to be put down, Nikita's face had been read with the attempt at trying to keep calm. He was relieved she asked for such. He set her down as gently as he could with the emotions in his mind.

((A Short post... I'm waiting for Metzli to post before continuing. I'm also not posting for Nina until someone in that group posts.))

[[ Yo bitches D< remember me? ]]

Thomas fealt cramped as the teens struggled to fit themselves into the less than spacious truck. The extra room that there might have been was taken up by guns and ammunition. It was an odd feeling, more fit for a comedic situation rather then the current. The thought of teens in a car on their way to Walmart to escape the zombies almost made him laugh.

When everyone was in Thomas had noticed a very foul stench in the air, everyone was sweaty so the area was humid. He figured that it was an even mixture between everyone, but when he shifted his head towards Crimson he almost gagged.

Jesus Christ, it's a good thing I took a shower about half an hour ago or I'd feel REALLY insecure right now.

Crimson seemed to notice the stench after she had ripped her pants to tie her hair, she turned her head away from Thomas in what looked like an attempt to escape the stench.

Oh for God sake, she thinks it's me.

Thomas figured it wasn't important, there was much more to be worried about at the moment. He had heard Nina yelling into her walkie, but didn't pay much attention. All he could get out of it was that she was contacting the other group. She seemed worried or frustrated at some points in the conversation.

The car had started and they were on their way. Soon they'd have met their main goal; to find shelter within the walls of a super market. Again, Thomas was fighting laughter as he thought about the current situation.

[[ Bout time! >D ]]

The stench seemed to permeate her nostils, and in her mouth, burning her tastebuds. Then the walkie talkie came to life. Unfortunately, Crimson could not hear that well, with trying to block out her sense of smell and the rushing wind from traveling in the car. Sighing, she looked around, and noticed that Thomas was looking at her, with his nose scrunched up. She blinked before realizing her must have thought the smell was coming from her direction. Mentally shrugging, she eyed Thomas and said,

"How do you like the smell?"

Hmm, this is going to be an interesting ride, at least until we all take a good shower.

Then the walkie talkie buzzed again, Nina apparently talking with the other group. Of course, she couldn't hear a thing, so she asked Nina what the others were talking about, after she finished with the conversation.

[I am SO sorry guys. Been really wrapped up recently.]

The support from both Kalila and Nicholas suprised even him. Even though they'd stood by him in the past, he drew comfort from it now more than ever. It was if he stood on a crisis point. The brink. Below him he could see a bleak and hungry darkness just waiting to engulf him, to drag him down to the depths and all his hopes and plans for some comforting parody of a normal, close knit family existance with him. He was teetering on the edge, unstable and all it would need would be a soft breeze to knock him over into the void. Say, a soft breeze in the shape of a blood analysis. . .
He felt Nicholas's hand on his shoulder. His first instinct was to jokingly curse him for his height. Make some comment like; 'dude, I'm not an arm rest' or something to lighten the mood. He couldn't get his mouth to echo the sentiments of his mind. Instead, he focused on the warmth against his skin the eminated from Nicholas's palm.
As Kalila squeezed his hand, Mizuki found his fingers gripping hers back. He held on a slight second longer than she did. Reluctant to let her go but too proud - too ignorant and stupid to come clean and admit that he really needed her support right now.
Too much of a man and too much of a boy.

His eyes widened in unmistakeable shock as Sarah apologised. And despite the situation, despite it all - a sly smile played across his lips. A flash of white teeth and he looked almost like he had before the start of all this. A genuine cheer in his eyes and the very picture of a smug and jokey teenager who has won some small personal battle and is seeing the brighter side of life.
As Sarah raised her head again she'd be confronted with his grinning face. It was nothing to take offense from. If anything, it would inspire a smile of similar magnitude. He bit the insides of his cheeks in a failed attempt to stifle the smile and ended up just looking comical, his eyes glittering mischeviously.
"S'ok." He managed to say, not quite keeping his voice level.

At the news that more people were coming, his smile faltered a little. But the difference in his mood was not as visible as it could have been. Inside, his stomach turned and went cold.
Christ. This was just what he needed. More people to watching him. He felt a pang that was unmistakable hunger. Closing his eyes, he pinched the bridge of his nose slightly as it suddenly hit by a phantom headache.
The moment his vision went blank it was replaced with a flashing image. Sharp and vivid, in offensive two tone shades of white and grey. And black. So much black, splattering the sides of a canvas wall. A mass of torn and bubbling pulp. Mincemeat. Sodden torn fabric and the slick buldging of intestine with its thin membrane layer glistening grimly - stretched to the point of breaking. A shift. The form of a little girl, face smudged black, eyes wide with unvoiced terror, teeth grit and tiny nails gouging marks of mindless fear into her once smooth round cheeks - a small deity of suffering crouched small in the corner of a bloodslicked tent.

Bile suprised him as it burnt the back of his throat and Mizuki gulped in air - simultaneously swallowing the vomit that had risen unbidden in his throat. It seared, scorching away the first layer of skin on the back of his throat and sending him into a frenzied cough.
Clamping his hand tightly over his mouth to silence them as best he could, his eyes went red and watery as the coughs stung his throat. His mouth was tainted with the unmistakeable copper of blood. His own? Or anothers - carried by the bile from the pits of his stomach. Mizuki didn't dare to think. As the coughing subsided he swallowed whatever it was and fanned the air infront of his face.
He blinked furiously to beat back the salty water from his eyes.
"Christ. Sorry guys, no idea where that came from . . "
Hell, if only you knew.. . . .

He looked to Kalila and smiled warmly.
"Good. I like Nina." And that he did. What he didn't say was that he wasn't keen on the others. Some things are just better left unsaid.
How did the old saying go?
My mother says, if you don't have anything nice to say - don't say it all!
Funnily enough, Mizuki could recall no one instance where his mother uttered anything like that. But it seemed like something she would say. The thought brought a weak smile to his lips that was barely more than a twitching of muscles. But the feeling was there.
Oh God I miss her.

He looked around the group, looking slightly pale from his cronic worrying and rubbed his hands together in the way a builder might before listing a long list of repairments that'd need doing.
"Right, then! Shall we get to fixing the doors? We cut through camping equipment, right?"
