As Belladonna and Sebastian travelled back towards the camp they kept up a light banter. Out of anyone in their pack he easily knew her the best. He'd only been born one breeding year before her and they were considered to be in the same age group. They had been trained, and still trained, together; they were in the same general feeding rank; all of their companions were the same - they often seemed to be two halves of the exact same creature. Sebastian was as light when he hunted as Belladonna was dark. The only, and the key, difference between the two was the fact that, despite her younger age, Belladonna was considered to have a much higher rank in the pack. It had become obvious at a young age that Belladonna was to be groomed to be the pack leader. Her hunting prowess was known througout the feral lands.
There was one large flaw in this great plan for her however, she had absolutely no intention of ever becoming the pack leader. It was a position of power that would require her to live permanently in her hunting rage, something she never wanted to happen. Some ferals gave in entirely to their hunting instincts, never releasing the more vicious personality, allowing it to rule them till they are killed, either on a hunt by the prey or by another feral (in their own pack, or a different one). These ferals were the only ones who made successful leaders and Belladonna refused to submit to her dark side.
Eventually the pair reached the camp and passed on their information to the elders. With that done, they went back to their lodge and grabbed a bite to eat. They had barely put down their licked clean eating knives when one of the elders entered the lodge. Immediately all the subordinate ferals assumed a submissive stance. If one of them hadn't, it would have been seen as a direct challenge to the elder. The elder swung is long axe off his back and rested it on the ground, blade down - the signal to release the posture.
"Belladonna," he growled in a voice that could shatter the nerves of even the most courageous beings; however as the elder was not being threatening, most of the younger ferals were able to shake it off. Belladonna stepped forward in response to the summons.
"We acknowledge the information you provided. You will return to keep a watch at the location. You will not attempt to enter the portal - that is what we have decided it is. And, and this is a direct order, you WILL destroy utterly anything that comes through from the other side," the elder continued and Belladonna merely inclined her head in acceptance. Nothing else was required from her. The elder had done exactly what she had expected, the same thing they always did when something new presented itself. Eventually they may venture through the portal, but it was unlikely. Most likely, someone would be assigned a permanent patrol at the location. After she collected some supplies she said a quick farewell to her brother and headed off at a comfortable lope back towards where she'd seen the new portal.

Now that Crystal was known to them, she decided to use her natural abilities. The black veil may be a perfect disguise, but if there was darkness about, it was better for her to use her natural light to ward it off. She took off the veil, placing it safely on the roof. Now, she was completely visible - a glowing white orb of light, with wings. Her glowing aura successfully protected her from the darkness. Now to see what would happen with the others.

Violet merely twitched a little as Holly showed up. Until both her and Dream set of the light. It was so sudden Violet screamed, the pitch almost high enough to break glass. Instantly she backed away, covering her eyes. She barely had time to see Liam before she'd been blinded. Even now she could barely make out the shadows of the others.

Dream had forgotton about Violet, and her sensitivity to light. He instantly released his light, and sent a quick burst of healing to Violet, to cure her of her temporary blindness. "Sorry about that... You alright?"

Miu was shocked when Holly appeared, "hi" she said. She watched silently as they discused a plan to stop the fallen angel. 'Maybe I can help... I can shapeshift after all' When the light shown, Miu didn't mind she enjoyed it, forgetting about the demon. "Are you alright?" she asked running over to the demon, "Hey, maybe I can help, anything you would like me to shapeshift into?"

Once her vision had cleared Violet seemed to snap. "Do I look alright!" she demanded, obvious reaching the end of her nerves. She was about to say more before she seemed to take a breath. Sighing she screamed into her hands, the sound muffled before she said softly. "Warning when your about to do the glowing trick would be appreciated," Pulling out her sunglasses she slipped them on, looking odder then ever in the night. Seeming to remember something she muttered, "Oh yeah...thanks," referring to healing her eyes.

"No problem." He was actually just about to suggest sunglasses himself; he had forgotton she already had them. "And I'm really sorry. Next time, I'll let you know. For now, I'd keep them on."
He looked at Miu. "I don't really think you can help her much, she's more of the soloist type. Which isn't bad, just saying."

Violet shook her head slowly. "When going against that its going to be hard to give a warning," she stated simply, indicating the darkness near Liam.

He smiled. "True. Just keep them on, then, and always expect it."

" Doo dee dumm..." Steffen's spirit was unusually placated. His dark Aura drifted over the world as a forboding storm cloud would, scanning over the inhabitants. There was little of interest to him at the moment...nothing but the want to find the sudden disturbance he had felt.
"Where are you kin...I can almost smell you... " the demon chuckled in his astral form speaking to himself. " Come now...you can not send up such a flare and think others would not want to find you...Why do you hide..hmm??" Growing weary of his search, Steffen desended to earth again, his long legs appearing out of no where then his waist line, little by little his body built it's self out of the smoke. A pleasantly pink tounge shout out of his mouth and ran over thin lips. He desire to feed was one again upon him. " Oh insatiable lust...Where would I be with out you." The demon laughed one again, this one much colder.
He closed both glittering red eyes and vanished back into the shadows of a building, running along them as one would walk along any walk way. The distinct trace of another demon was still lingering in his senses and Steffen wondered if he could rest until he found out what it was.
" Mayhapse I shall call to it...." The debonair man concluded. He settled down into the shadow of yet another building and ran a sharp nail over his wrist. The blood that swelled up to the small gash began to sizzle and crackle. Steffen raised the wrist to his mouth and swallowed a mouthful then spat it out on to a wall. Using his forefinger the man traced a small symbol into the brick and watched at it too began to sizzle. It was an unholy symbol that would hopefully call to the creature of darkness he was now seeking. The blood was a way of ensuring that it would reach a great distance...after all Steffen had no idea where this being was. Pleased by his work, he ignored the rest of the blood that slowly tricked down to his hand.
"Come out come out...." He almost let out a crazed giggle.

Violet nodded, then shivered a little. Slowly she turned her head, large emerald eyes searching around her. Something was nearby, something she recognised but couldn't place. Turning to Dream her fixed grin grew a little smaller. "Do you know what that is?" she asked, refering to the strange feeling. It was almost like a fog, surronding her until everything seemed hazy. Violet shook her head, trying to get rid of it but it wasn't going away. The oddest part was, she didn't want it to.

Haucon nodded to Leila. "Aye, you'll owe me more than that if we survive!" he said laughing sarcastically. The flames in his hand were dark red, more like coals as he spun toward the tendrils of the blackness, severing them with the light.

Dream looked at her; he couldn't feel anything. Was it the darkness? It couldn't be, he'd feel it too. Then what could it be? "I don't know... I can't feel it at all. What's it feel like? Maybe I'll recognise the feeling from somewhere."

Violet clearly wasn't paying much attention, still looking around. Absent mindedly she mumbled, "Its dark, nice and cool. It's just like home. It sort of, makes you want to follow it," almost as if she were in a trance she began to walk down the street, away from Dream, Liam and the others. As she walked her head continued to turn, still searching for the calling darkness.
