*He slowly stands up and mulls over his thoughts* ...No man can be perfect...but why must my imperfections hinder me so? ZhangHe...I strive to attain your level of strength, but it seems like I hit too many plateaus. Derien...*shakes his fists* biggest humiliation of my time aiding against Integra. How could a punk like that undermine me? De-On, heh, a nuisance to the demon kind and a failed mission of my past. What will I do if my student falls to him again? *Dismissing unanswerable questions of his life, Kage stares bleakly at the boulder he had been resting on*

*Kage rubs his forehead with his right hand for a moment, then abruptly strikes the boulder in front of him with the heel of his palm. After a few seconds, the boulder cracks open and splits apart before turning to dust. Kage frowns* And now, a possible tournament. Who am I to represent the bar? I still feel I have so much to answer for. *sighs* It's been 4 years...since I've been in a tournament. The last one...well...what an odd turn of events. I guess there's no point in dwelling on it. This night does not bring answers...merely promises of new beginnings. *Kage traverses the meadow again until he find another boulder, and quickly falls asleep*

*Kage appears in a burst of flame above the dojo meadow. He lands and looks around with a sigh. Everything seems in place. Allen is training over various shapeshifting forms, a part of a program Kage installed. The shark demon swims about, brooding as it waits for more prey. The automatons stand inactive but nevertheless ready for initial practice. The only thing seemingly out of place is the tranquility* Well...it all seems functional. I'm missing...something....but what? *He sits atop a boulder and scribbles into his notebook, keeping tabs on his area as he usually does weekly* Heh...I'm missing students. *He pauses and frowns, tapping his pen to his forehead* No one can really fight these days...time is against me. I must figure something out. *He sighs* I need more tests. Eventually I will get this dojo to work.

((after Kage's battle with De-On in the RP...))
*a rustle of wind along the meadow, and Kage appears, slumping heavily over to a boulder. Allen, upon noticing him arrive, rushes to his side. Kage rests on the boulder a moment* Man...that took a bit more out of me than I thought. *As Kage sat there, Allen's nanoinjections began healing him* Argh...what a fight. De-On has no idea of his destiny. I was a bit surprised to hold my own for so long. I am still so inexperienced when it comes to magic. I really only know that it wears the caster out eventually, and it can be incredibly powerful. *He sighs and rolls over so he can lay fully on the soft meadow ground. A sharp cold breeze runs up throughout the meadow...and Kage simply stares at the sky, lost in thought as usual* What am I to do now? Just sit here and let events unfold? So I got a few answers...but what about the rest of my questions? *As he continued to ponder things, sleep washed over suddenly, and he snores soundly through the rest of the night*

((Next day..))
*Kage awakens in the morning to find the sun already bright and shining.* Bleh...must've passed out. *He gets up and stretches a bit* A new day...oddly...I feel better. Heh...maybe it didn't sink in last night. I'm a match for De-On! *He smiles and clenches his fists* This is what I live for! This is what it really means to be a Hunter! To be strong and continue to improve until you reach your limit. To unlock potential and utilize your skills to the fullest! I can be friends with demons...and still hunt them. It's not a prejudice, it's a duty...a responsibility...one that I can no longer back down from.
*Allen stared at Kage in what must've been bewilderment...as much as a droid can show, anyway.* What? Can't I be happy for once? *Allen motions with his hands an expression of doubt and confusion* Oh, yeah...didn't I say a long time ago I'd put your voicebox back in? Haha...oh well guess I forgot! *He pokes Allen playfully then dashes at high speed around the meadow...beginning to feel alive with purpose and direction again*

*As Kage took off, Allen decided to test his master's newfound will. Using his shapeshifting ability, the droid changed it's form into that of a small, scaly reptilian demon that stood on two wide and lengthy legs. It's head was like a hybrid of a frog and fish, it's spine curved at the neck and extended out to make it hunch over. It's webbed feet contained two spiked toes and a spike extending from the heel. Most noticeable was the incredibly thick and bulky leg and thigh muscles. Allen in his new form gave quick chase after Kage, and the two raced around the dojo at speeds that almost generated a small tornado*

*Kage stopped on a dime just inches from Shin. When had he come in? It was an odd sight since his presence at the dojo was few and far from frequent. As Kage paused, Allen reverted to normal form and watched quietly.* Pardon me, Shin, but...what??

*Kage frowns for a moment and raises an eyebrow at Shin. Kage watches Shin's movement carefully, but does not make any attempt at violence* What would I betray you for? I have no reason to do that. Is there something...you're suggesting? What exactly do you think you know of what I'm to become?

*Kage was a bit unsure about that part. "What you may become". Something didn't seem right here, but he didn't yet feel the need to press it.* Oh...heh you heard of that eh? *he shrugs* It ended a bit prematurely. I didn't get a chance to try some techniques, but I held him off better than I thought. *he chuckles* better than your fight with him was.

*Kage frowns thoughtfully, and slowly nods* Yes...even yourself I'd say. *Kage turns away and stares at the sky.* This is a crucial time...the blind will see and the deaf will hear...awakenings for some and a star falls for others. *He takes a deep breath* That demonic activity De-On speaks of...even I can faintly sense it now. If you wish to speak of becoming things, I do admit to you one thing. If this bar gets in trouble...demons or otherwise...I will not hesitate in my actions.
