At least one gave up, she thought to herself quietly. Though the black furred one seemed more pouty than before at his obvious defeat temporarily. It wouldn't take a genius to figure out what would happen if she were to move out of the way. Yet this feeling of being hid behind was strange. She depended upon very few, and in reverse very few depended upon her. It felt somewhat nostalgic somehow, though she couldn't quite place a finger on it.
"Are the two of you always so childish?" She asked with amazement. They appeared so mature before all this, but now they were like kids let loose on a playground. "Should you not be more concerned for your children?" She wondered again. They seemed so absorbed in this teasing game that they seemed to have forgotten about the kids.
[I finished vol. 18. I'm waiting for 19 to come out chapter by chapter. xD; CLAMP hates their own fans, srsly.
Anyway, I must be off. Fare thee well!]

Both Fai and Kurogane blinked in shock, before Fai burst into a fit of laughter.
"Our children?" Apparently Kurogane was still confused as to the question. He looked to the green and pink kitsu, then back to Lenneth. Back and forth. Three times. A sweatdrop formed on his head as he caught on. "Are you suggesting that....?!" Kurogane was dumbstruck. The insanity was too much! He did not believe his position could get any worse! "H-hold on! I'm not their actual daddy!!! They just call me that!"
Stopping his laughter, Fai smiled toward the black fitsu. "Hyuu, but Kurorin sure is childish!" No need to mention his own act of being so childish. He certainly didn't mind having that reputation. It was alot better than his old reputation from Celes. Besides, he enjoyed Kurogane's reaction each time!((me too! well, night then ^_^))

Sakura laughed. She was surpised Lennth thought That Fai-san and Kuro-chan where thier dads.
"Oh, Mokono-chan can you get the feather for us? I would like to show her." He smiled glad Monoko was around.

"A walk outside sounds good since we don't really have a park." He smiled wondering what Ichijo was blushing about. "Oh you're right. Ighijo you should lay down for a bit your face does seem flushed." He put his paw on Ichijo's head. "Yeah you feel like you have a fever."

Mentally in Ichijo's head he was banging his head against an invisible wall. He thought to himself, how did this happen. She acting like going on a date is where everyone comes with us and shares. Again mentally he trying to figure out what he was going to do next. He felt the closet to Haruhi in a way. She was a girl disguised as a man and she excepted her self for that from Ichijo could tell. And he was half a girl and half a man but still wanted to be accepted as a man. He wished he could tell someone his secret.
"no no..I am fine," he said wiping his face with his sleeve. His face then seemed to return to its natural state. He paused for a moment and wonder something. He wonder if he could trust them with a dark dark secret that he had kept hidden for years. Every school he had went to he had been very defensive that he was in fact was a boy. He looked at Haruhi and then at Altair. "Can you to keep a secret," he asked. "I mean this secret could cause somewhat of a destruction of myself, if anyone else found out." His face seemed somewhat feminine as he pleaded with them. "I know we've known each other for maybe a few days but I think I can trust you," he said with a smile, though a sad one at that. He wanted this out so that way he would not feel uncomfortable around them. He knew that if told them they would either run away or just look at him in horror like he was a freak of nature. His body was ungly and he knew it.
"Can I trust you two to keep this from the others," he asked one more time.

Her eyes gazed at Kurogane with confusion at first. Then doubt formed in her eyes. Not their actual father? Even though they didn't physically look alike the way they functioned seem very much like a family-unit pretend or not. Though realizing her mistake, she bowed her head in, apologizing for her mistake, "My apologies, then. You just seemed very much like a family unit, and when Fai said 'daddy', I assumed you were related by blood."
She did find it nice, however that these strangers of theirs were helping them travel even if for their own reasons, too. They were like war buddies in a sense, helping each other out despite being strangers by nature. Lenneth had one or two of those during older times, and she appreciated their help sincerely most of the time, too.
"Sure~" Mokona called out. He opened his mouth, popping out a feather then held onto it with his tiny hands. "This is what Sakura's feathers look like~" He smiled.
The feather had a certain aura to them. A powerful one at that. The appearance of it was most different from regular feathers. Just the shape itself was irregular compared to feathers Lenneth could pluck from her wings right then and now. Not only that but they had strange pinkish markings on them. These memories of hers seemed quite powerful, too.
"These memories..." She paused for a moment to collect her thoughts. "They appear to be quite powerful." -- Haruhi stared at Ichijo with concern when Altair said he might have a fever. "Ichijo-san, don't push yourself. If you're not feeling well we can all go on this 'date' some other time," she assured the kitsu. Though he seemed very much in denial as he wiped the sweat off his face. He must have quite the fever if he was openly sweating. Maybe it was from a cold, those always did carry nasty fevers which could burn up to dangerous temperatures if not taken care of soon enough.
Her brow lifted in confusion at his question, unknowing what this secret was. She didn't believe that it could be that big of a secret that could destroy him. He didn't seem the type to break the law or anything, so what could it be? "Sure?" She answered hesitantly.

Yakobi Billy rolled his eyes, tails swishing swiftly behind him as Grim shouted for him not to touch the scythe, and then Jersey spoke of someone possibly getting hurt if he played with it. Pssh, he played with it all the time and no one ever got hurt...Well not really. Besides, the only real time that he was dangerous with the scythe was when he was enraged, and then he'd normally chase people around with it trying to lop of a head or something.
"But IIIIII want to be reaper again!" the boy huffed, sitting upon his haunches in front of the scythe. That one day he spent at reaper was fun, he wanted to do it again.
"The last time you were reaper for a day, you couldn't even manage to get one soul off the list. You left me with more work to do the next day." Grim grumbled, curling his boney tails around his hidden hind feet.
Billy laughed, or rather choked out a bizare laugh. What waaaaas Grim talking about? Him causing the skeleton more work. Oh no, he didn't do that. He never did that.
"Oh! Oooooooh!" the boy suddenly got an idea. "We can play head hockey!" Billy smiled, nodding his head, they could even use the scythe as a hockey stick. Yes.
"You are not using my head to play sports." "Why not? I do it all the time." "That's exactly why not."
How unfair, not that Billy would end up listening to that. He'd use Grim's head as a hockey puck or a football or even a soccer ball later. That he would. Then it hit him. If Grim had a scary face and his head could come off, did that mean that the blue Ryuk's head could come off too? He was scary just like Grim.
Turning the boy faced the Shinigami. "MmmDoes your head come off tooooo?" he questioned. His gaze then turned to Jersey, nope. His head would never be able to come off, he wasn't scary. And he was an astronaught, and everyone knew their heads didn't come off. For a mortal, and an especially stupid one at that, Billy was sure giving Grim a run for his money. Grim kind of did give a bad name to Shinigami, didn't he? But then, most Shinigami would say that Ryuk did too, so he had no say on that matter. Still, it was a little embarassing to watch his friend being walked all over by this idiot. But as with most things, he could only take amusement in it.
Laughing, he nudged his sullen skeleton friend. "You gotta show him who's boss!"
His amusement was cut off at the mention of taking off his head. Clawed paw traced along his collarbone, where his neck appeared to be bolted to his chest. Seeing Billy approach, he began to flail. A very undignified Shinigami freak out.
"Whoa, no! My head doesn't come off! Get away!"

He leaned in close to them and to make sure no one was listening. The kitchen was empty. "My very nature defies that of the laws of nature," said Ichijo in a very serious manner. His ears flickered. "I haven't told anyone this but my body is niether all male or all female," said Ichijo with a sigh. "That is why you Altiar said I have a female like face. My school as I mention had a special class every thrusday where I would take part in order to find my key to gradutate. In that dream I worm the girl uniform as my true self."

Altair was very cinfused when he said laws of nature. "But how can you..?" Though he was happy Ichijo trusted them he felt auward. "Well okay. So you're just part guy part girl. Whats wrong with that? We all have things they make us who we really are. That's what parts us. I might be very sparkly though you might be part girl and guy.Haruhi where's guys cloths and thats makes her diffrent. No one should be enbaressed to be diffrent."

Fai watched as Mokona 'spat up' a feather to show to Lenneth. He wondered just how many were left to find, and if Sakura would know it when the time came. He looked back to the princess, with Syaoran by her side as always. It was obvious the princess had healed greatly with each feather, but her memory of Syaoran was still absent. Fai glanced over to the boy, seeing the tinge of sadness in his eyes. It was there, hidden behind all the determination and care he held; a sadness that would take a long time to heal.
Kurogane just huffed, glad he got the point across of his position. "No, no blood ties in this group. "Besides, if I were the daddy, I'd hate to think what Fai was considered." He shuddered at the thought, knowing that there was only one field left missing in the family unit. And he hadn't forgotten that Mokona had even called Fai that certain role-but if he was lucky, they may have forgotten by now. Not likely.

Her ears leaned in close to Ichijo, listening to his every word. She didn't quite understand why he made it such a huge deal that he was both genders at once. Though it seemed almost surreal, she didn't really find it as such an enormous secret. She did understand that each person had their own demons to face, and that this was probably one of them for Ichijo. Yet he seemed so immersed in this one, that he seemed to have made it more than it really was.
What Altair said was honest truth. Even if this place was nowhere close to utopia, she knew that not many would look down upon Ichijo if he ever told them or if the secret ever spilled. She smiled softly at the kitsu, agreeing with all of what Altair just stated, "It's exactly as Altair-san says. And to be honest, it's no big deal what gender you are to us. You are you. Ichijo-san is Ichijo-san. No one can take that away from you." Haruhi patted the kitsu softly on the head, giving him a firm nod to support Altair and her reasoning. They both understood well enough. The two of them both accepted Ichijo, too. Regardless of anything, they were their own person and that was all that mattered.
--
"I assumed he was a family friend or close acquaintance if yours or the children." She shrugged her shoulders. Though obviously she was told otherwise. Her eyes wandered to that of the pale kitsu, studying him with intense care. She could see the expression on his face as he stared at the children. His hurtful expression puzzled her. Why would he feel sad staring at the children? They seemed healthy, both physically and mentally. Something was missing in the piece of this puzzle. What price did the children pay in order to travel? More so than that, what did all of them have to pay?
Lenneth sighed at the thought. Whatever price it was must have been a painful one to give up. The playful kitsu would not stare at them with such pain otherwise.
"Mommy~ That's what Fai would be, of course~" Mokona teased while giggling. He wanted to lighten up the mood for all of them since Fai stared at Syaoran with such sadness in his eyes.

Show Billy who was boss? That was certainly easier said then done. The only thing one could really control with Billy was getting him to do thing, and that only worked half the time. There really wasn't a way to get the boy to truly listen. "With bozo here, I'm not sure that's possible." the reaper grunted, the tips of his bone tails flicking up and down.
Billy's dark black eyes widened as he stared at Ryuk, was he sure that his head didn't come off like Grim's? "Have you ever triiiiiied it?" the boy questioned, a deranged look upon his face. It was quite clear that he wanted to make sure himself, just incase Ryuk was just saying it didn't to keep him from play head sports with his head.
Grim couldn't help but let out a chuckle, as he watched Ryuk freak out as Billy questioned him about his head. It was rather hilarious, and well it wasn't that often that Grim got to watch Billy annoy someone else. Letting out another laugh, Grim reached out a skeletal paw and placed it down upon one of Billy's tails. "His head doesn't come off-"
"Yooooooou sure?" The boy turned around, his orange hair flopping to one side. "Oh! I know! Let's go to Dinobinoid Land!"

Fai snapped out of his daze, sensing the female kitsus eyes on him. He looked up at her briefly, giving a soft smile to show that everything was fine. Had he really let his mask slip that much? He'd have to be more careful, seeing as how attentative Lenneth was. Fai step up from behind Lenneth to seat himself slightly next to her. "Hyuu! Mokona, I'm afraid I'm not a good mommy, letting Kuropii acting so rude."
Kurogane pinned his ears back. "I'll act however I want! And I think you and that porkbun are seriously confused." Who had made up this whole family thing anyways?! He couldn't remember if it was Fai or Mokona, as both there antics just blurred together and were never-ending. 'I need some sake!' Kurogane flicked about his tails, as it seemed to be a good method of calming his nerves.

As the orange haired kitsu neared him, Ryuk staggered backwards. He knew that no matter how hard the kit tried, his head probably would never come off. And even if it did, he probably wouldn't die. But Ryuk didn't want Billy's grubby paws anywhere near him. Who knows where they'd been?
Maybe this was how the kit had managed to keep control of Grim this whole time.
When Billy suddenly changed the subject and turned away from him, the Shinigami kitsu sat up slightly, relieved. But he remained on his guard.
