It's just Venusaur now, Jaeshan thought, biting his lower lip. He could feel a win in the air, he just had to take the large plant Pokemon down. “Alright Butterfree! He called, glancing from one Pokemon to another. “Gust attack!” Weepinbell looked on in curiosity as his partner released a blast of wind. The tough Venusaur seemed to shrug it off, and Jaeshan saw the woman before him smirk as she pointed at Butterfree, and said something so quietly that Jaeshan couldn't hear her. Venusaur took a mighty step forward, his large feet causing the ground below him to tremble as he roared. Suddenly, thick, thorned vines tore the earth asunder and stretched out, aiming for Butterfree. Weepinbell could only watch in terror as the vines lashed out, striking the butterfly several times from all directions, the last attack actually puncturing a hole in her left wing. Jaeshan blanched as she collapsed on the ground, convulsing in agony for a few seconds before she became still.

Lt. Surge checked his watch yet again as he watched the Jolteon before him launch electricity at one of the targets that protruded from the floor. “That's it,” he said. “It's about time you started aimin',” he added. The Jolteon turned to glare at him for a second before he looked back to the targets he'd been attacking, and loosed a weak Thundershock. Panting, he lied down on his belly to rest for a moment. “I didn't say ya could rest yet!” the leader barked. “C'mon Flash! Get up,” he urged. Weakly, Flash got back to his feet and continued attacking the target. Gotta keep him on his toes, the leader thought grimly. After a few more minutes, Surge recalled the tired Jolteon into his Pokeball and then carried it over to the machine at the back of the gym and set the ball into one of the six slots. After a few seconds, the Jolteon was fully healed once more, and the leader continued with the Pokemon's training regime. “I promised Kasiya I'd take good care of ya, and that doesn't mean letting ya get all pudgy around the midsection.”

Slightly offended, Flash turned to glare at Surge, and barked at him sharply. “Jolt! Jolt!

“That's why we're training so hard,” Surge retorted, folding his arms across his chest and glancing at his watch yet again. “Gym opens soon,” he noted. “Get to it!” Flash barked once more, grit his teeth and continued attacking the targets, switching back and forth between Thundershocks and Thunderbolts.

The fire Pokemon felt a chill run down his spine, Aphrodite's song was horrific, but at least he wasn't asleep like Beacon was.

"Felsic, don't even worry about attacking anymore, just dodge all she throws at you!" Mike didn't have the heart to explain the full details of the move.

Wasting no time, Felsic crouched down to jump, but rolled down the side of the Lapras instead, leaving him in an immensely vulnerable spot.

"Agh! That's not dodging, that's falling!" He wailed, hoping that his Pokemon's reaction time would save him from the next attack.

Hm, not bad at all, weakening Tropius with status conditions.

Winona pressed her mind for a moment, trying to think of something that could counter Confusion and Poison status. "Wait, duh!" Letting out a sharp whistle, her Pokemon stumbled back over to her. From her pocket she pulled a Full Heal, spraying it on Tropius. His poison status evaporated away, and he regained a sense of balance in his steps.

"I'll admit, you had me worried girl." The Gym Leader said, her hands on her hips.

Somehow, predictable, Kasiya thought, her expression unchanged. And you should still be worried! She continued to grin as she pointed at Tropius. "Get in there, Fang!" she called. "Air Cutter!" Fang gave a sharp screech, diving down and slashing the air with his wings. Two sharp blades of wind rushed through the air, straight towards Tropius who was now wide open after being healed of its status ailments. I can't let myself be phased by anything she says or does, she thought, taking a deep breath. I've got to keep my wits about me.

That was... that was... that was... Frenzy Plant?! Jaeshan thought desperately, having only seen that attack once before, on television. It didn't look so bad at that time, but also his Pokemon hadn't been on the receiving end of it. With a shaky hand he recalled Butterfree, looking to Weepinbell. His mouth gaped open as he tried to think of something to tell the Pokemon, and finally, the usually relaxed Pokemon turned to look at the Venusaur, taking it upon himself to think of something. Using his two vines to push himself up into the air, Weepinbell shook himself so that a golden orange powder floated down onto the Venusaur - Stun Spore.

Aphrodite looked down to Felsic, and grinned. "My my," she said, "it looks like someone's in a bit of a pickle, now aren't they?" Her grin broadened as she raised one of her flippers, ready to strike...

"Aphrodite, return!" Nina yelled, holding Aphrodite's Pokeball out, and caused the red beam to recall her. She took a breath, and released another Pokemon.

"What the--- what?!" Anna said, looking to Nina.

Nina wore a determined expression on her face as she looked back at Anna. She nodded, and a moment later, so did her Pokemon.

Anna shifted her gaze from looking at Nina to looking at Felsic, directly into his eyes. Her own eyes glowed a very dark, intimidating red color. "So long as I'm here," she said, "you're not going to go anywhere."

A few moments later, Anna's Mean Look had been completed.

More than confused, the Quilava looked around puzzled, not understanding why they wanted him to stay. "Well, as long as I'm here," He reared back, charging a Flamethrower. Felsic thrust his head forward, too forward, expelling a fiery attack straight at the ground. While he could employ it as an evasive technique most times, this one was not planned. The poor Quilava rocketed upwards, flailing around in the air. He landed with a thud, out cold.

"...well, that just sucks." That was all Mike could muster, before holding out a Pokeball. "Nina, play time is over, it's time to bring out the heavy hitters." Mike smiled, looking over to Nitro, the boy tilted his head, the Charizard stomping out to the fighting arena. "Ready set Portabello?"

Soon Mike's two most powerful Pokemon were standing next to each other, ready to battle. "You're move Nina, I'd like to see you come out of this one."

Anna stared at Nitro and Portabello, her pupils shrinking immensely. "...Bloody hell," she squeaked out. "This... could be a problem." Felling a bit intimidated, she frantically thought about what she could do to attack.

Pain Split... no, that won't do anything. Confuse Ray... what if it fails? Mean Look... gah! No way!"

A moment later, Anna did get an idea. She flew around in a circle a few times, before her entire body disappeared. "Where am I?" she asked Portabello and Nitro. Her voice seemed to echo from all around. "Can you see me? Because I can see both of you, just fine." She remained hidden for a moment, before she appeared some five or six feet behind Portabello. She reared back before loosing a Psybeam toward him.

Portabello felt the Psybeam, faltering forward on one foot. The grass Pokemon whirled around, clearly not amused. "I'll just be taking some of this from you." Clapping his hands together, the Breloom began to sap Anna's health with a Giga Drain, healing the majority of his wounds. He began to adopt an agressive stance, hopping from one foot to the other. "I'm ready for whatever you throw at me."

All the while this was happening, Nitro decided to take full advantage of the distracted Misdreavus. Clasping the Charcoal in his hands, the Charizard took in a deep breath, the heat churning in his lungs. Seconds later, he unleased a mighty Flamethrower attack straight at the unaware ghost.

Seeing the attack coming from the corner of her eye, Tropius managed to dodge one of the slashes by throwing his weight to the side, the other one causing a gash in her leg. She yelped in pain, hoisting her now wounded leg in the air.

"Don't worry girl, Gust attack!" Winona reached up and placed her goggles on her eyes, smirking at her opponent who wouldn't be so lucky.

Planting its three good legs on the ground, Tropius began to flap her trademark leaf wings at Fang. The rushing wind tore up grass and dirt, the miniature storm tearing straight for the Crobat.

Distracted by the Giga Drain, Anna had literally no time whatsoever to even attempt to dodge the Flamethrower. She was hit by the full force of the attack, and was dealt tremendous damage. Her eyes closed tightly as she fell down to the ground, no longer able to fight.

Wordlessly, Nina recalled her Pokemon. Reaching for her belt, she drew the last two Pokeballs that she had, and flung them out onto the field.

Aphrodite returned to battle, and a few moments later she was joined by Krystal.

"This looks bad," Aphrodite said, somewhat intimidated by the other two Pokemon. The fact that she was still hurt from fighting before didn't help much, either.

"We're just going to have to try our hardest," Krystal replied. She hovered near Aphrodite, and leaned up to whisper something into her ear. A few moments later, their gazes both turned to Nitro.

"Ready? Now!" As Krystal spun quickly around in circles, generating electricity, Aphrodite sent a Surf attack at the opposing Pokemon. After the wave was sent on its way, Krystal shot a Thunder Wave straight for Nitro.

“Hold your ground, Fang!” Kasiya called, unflinching as the winds whipped about her body, her newly shortened hair hardly getting out of place. Fang stared down the attack, using his four wings as a shield, the debris picked up by the attack bouncing harmlessly off his shiny green skin. Kasiya pushed her bangs out of her eyes with one hand, the other hanging calmly at her side as Fang came out of his defensive stance. “Wing Attack!” she called up to him. Fang's yellow eyes became slits as he brought his multiple wings close his body, giving him little resistance to the wind. He veered down at an incredible speed, his wings spreading out again in time to strike the much-slower Tropius before he was once again gaining altitude.

Being a grass type, Portabello could take the Surf attack alot better than Nitro, even if it was a weak one. He dashed over to the Charizard, snagging him by his tail. "Alle-oop!"

"Hey what the he-?!" Was all Nitro was able to say before he was spun around and tossed into the air with an amazing display of strength by the little grass Pokemon. He cleared the aquatic attack with ease,
Portabello really tossed him up high. The Breloom braced himself, sliding one foot back. The wave crashed on him doing little damage, and the paralyzing attack the Dragonair had shot hit him as well. Just minor garnishes.

Nitro regained his balance and opened his wings, glaring at the serpentine dragon. He tucked his arms in, giving one more powerful flap before shooting downwards with a Fly attack aimed at Krystal.

Jaeshan was still lost for words as paralysis coursed over the body of the Venusaur, and he moved a few feet backwards, looking somewhat drained as he refrained from attacking that round. Jaeshan had forgotten that that powerful move was much like Hyper Beam – one needed to recharge the next turn after deploying it. Seemingly finding his tongue again, Jaeshan grit his teeth. “Great thinking, Weepinbell!” he called, his mind working once again. “Wrap attack!” Weepinbell, still suspended in the air, let itself fall towards the Venusaur, letting his vines thrust out and wrap the larger Pokemon's body, Weepinbell now pressed up against Venusaur's head.
