Oh, and I don't mean to double post or anything, and I don't know if this has been discussed yet or not, but I was watching Last Order again yesterday, and I noticed this screenshot...

User Image

Cloud and Tifa, right? They seem to be depicted as a lot closer here than they were in the game... as far as screenshots, anyways. ^^;

Daaaamn, that's a really nice picture. I wish I had gotten Last Order, but, I be a poor mofo when it comes to getting anime.

And, on a completely random note... I just saw RanmaxHikaru with a Pro-Cleris signature... Can this day get any cooler? First I see hot asian guys in dresses, then I see them dance, then I see the sailor scouts at my school, then this screen shot, then RxH with a Cleris sig? Damn, I'mma faint from the coolocity

Wait What??? What pro Cleris sig??? If you're talking about the one where Aeris calls Cloud "Lover" and Cloud calls her "Mother" then you're mistaken. That's suppose to be a joke on the Cleris confused

Yeah now that you mention it they are closer. I don't remember them tuching back to back in the game but it's still really cute just the same.

Aww now c'mon RxH. It made the boys happy... you could've let them dream a little longer. rofl

By the by, Jhay... Last Order never came to the US. You can find a subbed version on youtube though.

In the Last Order anime, it does show Cloud and Tifa closer than in the game, like that screenshot and the scene where Tifa is actually conscious long enough to talk to Cloud. Though the anime is different from the game, since it's actually out, I guess it's pretty canon. *Sighs* They don't really have a reason to change it at all.....I guess the Last Order anime was the intended?

Actually if you have Bittorrent or Real player there are places where you can just download it. That way it's clearer quality and then you can take your own screen shots.

Personally, I think it's close enough to the actual cannon. I mean they were just polygones before after all. Some things like Cloud pushing Tifa's hair out of her face, might have looked weird in polygon form. That's my take on it.

I really have a hard time taking Last Order as a serious canon. It's the biggest reason I don't trust SE to remake FFVII. The only things they did that lined up with the game was the character roles and that the town burned down.
To me, the only thing worth while about Last Order was the Zack fights and, if you like them, the Cloti moments. Everything the changed turned the story cheap and even more cliche.
One example:
Cloud stabbing Sephiroth in the torso and throwing him into the lifestream spoke volumes on the strength Cloud can summon when he feels he needs to and proves he wasn't as weak as he thought. This also gives Sephiroth a more human feel and, I think, makes him more likable as a villian. You get more of a feeling that Sephiroth really earned the power he has in present game time.
With Cloud stabbing Sephiroth in the back and then Sephiroth jumping into the Lifestream... what little strength Cloud does have is kinda robbed from him and it plays more into the emo Cloud of AC instead of the insecure smartass of the game. It also plays into the over-glorification of Sephiroth robbing him of actual depth.

Lover... Mother.... Are you implying incest or Cloud is about to say "Mother f*%$er" ?

*sigh* Too good to be true, I guess... *sigh* Still, it was cool while it lasted. Monkey...

I definitely agree with you. I mean, I consider it somewhat canon, somewhat not. Eh, I pick out examples from there if I need to, but I often try to stray from it as much as possible. It's just that I noticed that image... and I thought it was interesting how they depicted Cloud and Tifa in that scene... like, why did they choose to make it seem more romantic? I wonder if there was a reason for that, or not.
Actually, a lot of things about Last Order were... different it seemed. Like what you mentioned about Sephiroth, it definitely robbed him of something.

Not quite... a huge argument from many anti-Clerises is that Cloud loves Aeris as a mother while Aeris loves Cloud as a lover. Which means, to them, they could never be together because Cloud doesn't love Aeris the way he loves Tifa. It stems from Cloud's near death experience in AC when his eyes are closed and Aeris puts her hand on Cloud forehead; he says, "Mother?"
Clerises argue this point as a case of mistaken identity because Cloud's eyes were closed and Aeris did not speak until he spoke. Meaning there really wasn't a way that he could have known it was Aeris. All he knew was that he just felt something tragic and painful (him being shot and nearly dying) then suddenly something made the pain go away and he felt a gentle hand. So, like most "children" mostly men studies have shown, he assumes it is his mother.
Both sides are understandable points in the debates to me.

Mmm...I don't know....it does sound understandable on both sides...but it seems like the Cleris's just want to argue any point made. I don't really think Cloud regards Aeris as a mother, but probably someone as close as that since her aura seems to make Cloud feel safe and warm, an aura that Cloud felt before in his mother. You know, like a guardian angel sort of person. Anyways, I'll stop there.
