"That's right. I know the writings very well though I am still teaching myself to read better. If not me, then who will carry on the words of the ones that left those writings? I think it's unfair to let their voices fall silent after so much effort to be remembered." He smiled softly, turning his head to one side to inspect the marking down the lioness' back. It did look firmiliar... but it was a marking that he hadn't quite learned the meaning of yet. "No... I'm sorry I've not seen that one yet nor learnt of it's meaning. I'm in quite a fix with my own markings you see." He turned his shoulder just a bit to show four characters inscribed into his fur- they obviously said something- but what not even Maji knew, "I wish I knew. I suspect such answers remain in the unexplored areas of these caves. I'm working on a map to help anyone new here navigate them, but there are caverns that I can't reach yet- I'm a good climber but not good enough. I think that the adults wanted rooms meant strictly for the adults. The elders and such. That's where I think the most ancient of secrets are kept."((Sorry I was so long on the response, my work/school/sleep schedule is all messed up like crazy sweatdrop hehe and I couldn't resist using my piccy of Maji just this once for his header xd ))

Layla's large purple eyes scoured the river's edge for any sign of life, her claws growin more and more adept at keeping hold of the trees typically thick branches. She balanced precariously, the dark presence of Montsho's behind her, half scrutinizing, half protecting her from falling.
The panther watched with growing confidence, having not been entirely sure that a lion could ever be cut out for doing such graceful and silent scouting. She'd even noticed a few bird perched so close they could easily have a small snack if they choose to.
Of course, this perfect silence would only last so long and eventually the calm lioness shifted causing her claws to graze lightly over the bark and tip off the nearby wildlife, causing a slight flurry of wings and leaves.

[ Nil problemo Thalion :3 And cute piccy! I only put mine in to show the marking ^___^]
Kinyamkela's eyes were round at the story. Somewhat hesitantly the big cub looked up at the waterfall and where these mystical caves might be. "Um... I know you've only just come from there and all,but would you mind terribly, um, showing me these writings?" The words tumbled out, the eyes of the normally practical cub turning to misty veiled gold. "I just have to know... perhaps it's the same as what I knew once," she finished, padding round in a circle and then halting again. "After all, it's only going to get hotter," she reasoned.

He chuckled a bit, glancing up towards the cave's mouth. "Warm you say? It's nearing the raining season, it's going to get colder over the days. But I don't mind showing you the writings." He turned himself about, motioning for her to follow after him with a flick of his tail. "I am afraid there is a good deal of climbing to be done, my lady. It's kind of damp and slick so mind your paws and use your claws."
The cave was hidden behind the waterfall- at least that was the easiest way of getting there. Otherwise it would take hours of walking thorugh the maze of caves to get to Maji's den. He knew the caves well but it had been a long day and he would rather not take the long walk through the caves. He bounded up the first bunch of rocks like it was nothing, his silvery blue form making quick work of the distance from the ground up to the high climb. He paused about halfway on one of the larger ledges and watited for the female to follow him. She might need his help, afterall, and what kind of knight would he be if he didn't offer it to her?

'Kela followed awkwardly, her large paws slipping on the unfamiliar stones but a determined light in her eyes. The spray from thewaterfall disconcerted her, as used as she was to the water, and she had to pause often to shake the droplets from her eyes and where it beaded across her fur. Eventually however she made it to the ledge where Maji was courteously waiting, and grinned. "Some..climb," she said cheerfully, a little out of breath. "Must we travel the whole way up?" Her smile became a little glazed as she transferred her gaze to the way ahead. "Lead on, Sir Maji!" She laughed, a faint trace of nervousness in her bold words.

He grimmaced in compassion for the lioness cub, it was a hard climb for someone not used to the slick rocks and the near verticle climb. The smoothe stones made it especially hard for even the most clever of lions to get a good hold on them if they didn't mind their paws just right or know where to hold to. He glanced up to the mouth of the cave, they'd only come half way. Perhaps a short rest would be wise. If she tried to continue on as tired as she was she'd grow far too eager to reach the top and loose her wit in climbing. There was enough room on the slight ledge for two cubs to sit or lay if they needed a break. His haunches met with the ground and he turned to her, his ears rotating forward as he offered a gentle smile, "We'll take a short break. It's the halfway point, just take a bit off the paws before we continue."

'Kela shut her mouth with a snap. "Halfway, huh?" With a resigned sigh she pushed herself closer to the cliff face, claws skittering on the damp stone. As she rested she debated looking down; normally she had no problem with that kind of thing, being a bold soul, but today... perhapsnot. After a while she glanced up at the patient Maji. "Sorry to make you wait. I guess I can go on now," and she took a deep breath, shaking once more the droplets from her pearly coat before smiling brightly.

"Don't guess." He said softly, not moving a muscle from the comfortable sitting position he had taken, "We won't go on until you know for sure that you have the energy to make it the rest of the way up." He turned his head, looking towards the cave's mouth, "When I was a few weeks younger, I woke up alone in those caves but I was too scared to try and scale down them. I learned to navigate the caves to get down here. I had to work for days before I could climb to the top without a rest, even then I was exhausted by the time I reached the top. If you don't have the strength to continue you'll be careless with your footing you see, you'll misjudge something, slip, or even just fall."

'Kela looked slightly to the side, slightly flattered that he would think of another's safety, but also slightly annoyed at his assumption of her inadequacies. She looked up again with a determined smile on her face. "No, really, I can go onwards. I... have to see these caves now." The words surprised her a bit, at the sudden vehemence of her thoughts, but she wiped that with a hopeful expression in her golden eyes. " After you, Maji," she gestured brightly.

Mwenzangu crashed into the underbrush after loosing sight of what he was chasing. "Oh darn...." He looked around, realising that he wasn't where he was. Uh oh. "I wonder where I am..." He looked up through the trees at the patches of sky, showing that it was a bright day today. He sat down on his big rump and kept looking up at the sky, dazed, with his tail flicking around wildly.

::A calm breeze swirled about as he sat next to the water, staring down at it curiously. He'd tried fishing that one day and he had accomplished nothing. He'd tried hunting and still he had not succeeded. Everything was going so horribly wrong. He'd told Ciyari that he'd hunt for her and he couldn't even catch something as small as a rodent...::
::Inhaling a breath he dunked his head underneathe the cool liquid and slowly flopped into it. His short legs moved wildly as he poked his head back out into the air....::Grumbling a little to himself, he began swimming around in a circle, searching for a fish of some sort to try and catch...:: "Come out...Come out.." ::He whispered softly, moving under the water once again, trying to keep his eyes open so that he could see.....::

An opage figure flew over some of the tree's before it landed softly with a gentle thud, the rustling of feather's heard as a crow looked around the home of the Mistweaver's....or what was left of them at least. A sad sigh left the bird before she caught something out of the corner of her eye, turning her head sharpyl she was surprised to see a full adult lion sitting there. "Ooooh...now that isn't soemthing you see in the jungle too often..." Her head then turned at the sound of a younger creature, twitching her head from side to side as she kept one of her beady eye's on the lion.

Abruptly looking up from her grazing, a female zebra padded at the ground. She could have sworn she heard something not to far away, gazing around she tried to locate the sorce. Taking a step back, the zebra waited for another noise.

(Need a colour... o.o; )
Zangu blinked as he heard something. He looked around, his fluffly black mane shifting around with his movements. He caught site of the Zebra first, and stared at it a bit, not quite sure...what it was doing here. He shifted himself to face her, but made a little too much noise. "Oops..."
