The wii, not a great system. Nobody said it was. The wii-mote is stupid and clumsy. The graphics are meh. The catalog of games is lacking.
Despite that, it's still one of the most entertaining systems out there. If you have three other people, there is no system out there that will do what the wii does.
Halo is awesome. I'm sure resistance is too. But I'd still rather sit down with my friends/family(from my 24 year old friends, to my 12 year old cousins.) and play a game of mario kart/party/soccer.
It's just more fun.
As for the DS, don't even start. What are you gonna play on a long car ride? Game Gear? PSP? The license plate game?

Beats me. I'm usually the driver. Other than that, I get majorly carsick even with Dramamine, so things like Gameboy I always left to my brothers. At one point we had a car tv and watched movies back there. And yes, we actually DID play the license plate game, the broken taillight game, and 20 questions--which when Dad was doing it meant something entirely different and usually got the winner a candy bar, so you better believe we played! And if I'm riding shotgun it's even simpler: I read the map, and I chat with the driver. And that is the car ride.
Oooo, go figure, people can do things OTHER than play video games in a car. No offense, but gimme a break, BD! rolleyes

The license plate game can only last so long. And it's a gameboy. What other situation should I describe? You dont just sit around in your house and play your gameboy on your couch. In a situation where you WOULD use a handheld, the DS is the only decent choice.

I'm too lazy to give all the info, suffice it to say I like batman...my cousin was going on a WTF phase, so I decided to do a WTFB thing. Still doesn't make sense, I'm sure, but bleh.
