Shizuka almost fell onto her side when Netsubo appeared from hiding. It was definitely unexpected.
Is she here to hurt Manta-kun or Faust-san?
She prepared for an oversoul, if that was indeed tha case.

"Netsubo!" Manta cried. "Boy, am I glad to see you... it's been a crazy night, and I've got no clue what just happened, except that Faust is apparently evil again. I'm so angry and disappointed with him... I can't believe he had me going for as long as he did." Manta wiped his hand across his eyes hastily.
"My husband isn't evil," said a soft voice at Manta's ear. He jumped back, startled, staring into a pair of pale blue eyes.
"Eliza?" Manta asked in disbelief. "What are you doing here? You can't... because Faust isn't... he can't summon..."
"I'm with him always, but I'm closest when he sleeps." Eliza gave a little gasp when she saw Shizuka. "My! You look just like... ach! Never mind. It was only for a fleeting instant, and my memory's not so good sometimes."
"So, um, Eliza-san," Manta said carefully.
"Hm?" asked the ghost.
"What happened just then?"
"My husband is schizophrenic. I thought he would have told you," said Eliza.

Shizuka shook her head, feeling that for once her occasional "blackouts" were not as big of a deal. She knew a little bit about schizophrenia. She was bored one day and looked up some random word in the dictionary, and this happened to be the second one she read.
Does this have something to do with Mephistophiles?" Amaya asked her.

"Mephistophiles?" Eliza asked, addressing Amaya after acknowledging the presence of Netsubo, who Manta seemed to know. "I've heard a little about him, but 'Dr. Wagner' was how Johann referred to him. Was that the person you encountered?"
Manta spoke up. "Apparently. It reminded me of, well, of how Faust was before. We were ready to fight him." Manta sighed. "Schizophrenia? That explains a lot. I knew something was up, but along the generically insane lines rather than a specific disorder."
"No one is generically insane," Eliza said. "Johann is possibly the most sane person I've ever known. Unfortunately, the form of shamanism he practices involves no integration or contact with my actual spirit, so he has no experience with possession or integration. I wish that I could speak with him, but our conversations are limited to his dreams," Eliza said sadly.

Shizuka gathered energy as well, wanting to help in any way that she could. She wouldn't let some evil spirit destroy her friend.

Eliza complied immediately, but Manta stepped back. "I don't understand," he said. "Don't demonic possessions only happen to people who are already prone to being evil?" Obviously, a certain bad memory was still bothering Manta.
Eliza shook her corporeal head defiantly. "He was never evil," she intoned harshly. "He's just too trusting. He's like a child that way," she explained, hovering near her husband. "Sometimes I wish that he wasn't a Faust, though... he's so good at what he does, but Necromancy is so bizarre."
"What are you doing, Netsubo?" Manta asked curiously, taking his now customary place beside Shizuka as the two girls joined their mana.
