Marching with the sousa really is painful. I don't understand why we had to start using brass ones. I mean, I know they look way cooler, but the fiberglass ones only weighed like 10-20 pounds max. The brass ones weigh closer to 50.
I don't have to worry about that for a while though! Concert season started two weeks ago and, except for Pep band we don't use the sousaphones again until May.

That's good! Whoot my life is busy again. It was so boring right after marching season ended. But now I have softball conditioning 3 days a week and parade practice this week and trombone lessons on Mondays! :] So happy! :] I hate being bored. So what do you guys do when marching band is over?

Well, I still have sectionals on tuesdays, and private lessons on thursdays. Mondays I'm typically at scholastic bowl, Wednesdays I go to PRISM, or gymnastics open gym, or just hang out in the band room, and friday after school I go to aviation club. Friday nights I usually hang out with other band people who have nothing to do because there isn't a game.
And after whatever I have to do after school, I usually hang out in the band room for no reason whatsoever until around 5 or 6.
So basically, I'm never bored. xD.

I suppose relaxing and hanging out with friends might be fun, espcially after two or three months of marching practice. That's what me and my friends do, we just don't play video games because we're usually relaxing and hanging out in the band room! Seriously, they just let us chill in there until whenever, unless there's jazz band or it's like 11:00 at night. Do you guys usually hang out in your band room?

One of the guys in my section has senior solo auditions on a saturday...he didn't realize he had to be at school at 6:45 am until one of the other guys pointed it out...then he was like 6:45!!!! ********! xD lol ;D so yeah...he's convinced he isn't gonna make it, but I think he's amazing...<333 lol.

I'm not sure how I'm gonna do. I can play them both (they're really easy) but when I get nervous I don't always do very well. I don't know.... Oh yeah I'm trying out on trombone and baritone and I would've learned tuba for all district but I didn't have time. sad

EDIT: I made 4th chair baritone and 6th chair trombone (which is last for both of them) I was so happy I made it in them both. :] I chose to baritone though.
