Magnus lowered his hand after Kiki swatted it away. "I apologize," he told her as he slipped his glove back on. "Then letting me live would still allow peace, even though it would be something rather than nothing. Isn't that a contradiction?" He faced her as she stood up, eye to eye. "If you want complete nothing, you'd have to kill me."

Magnus realized his mistake, but didn't break a step. It wasn't the first time he had slipped up and let drop something he wasn't supposed to know. It had taken quite a few mistakes but he had learned how to improvise on the spot. "You said you wanted peace, right?" He asked rhetorically. "Peace through purifying everything impure, which according you to is everything period. If you purified everything and everyone, there would be nothing left. And of course, if there's nothing, then there would be peace. That's what you're going for...right?" Again his question was rhetorical, but this time it was only because he had read her answer already. He made to put his hand on her shoulder but stopped, lowering it again when he remembered she wasn't okay with his touch. "But you're making exceptions now..." He kept his gaze steadily on her, waiting for a reply.

Magnus felt relief wash over him as Kiki accepted his answer though he'd learned enough not to show it. He shrugged at her question. "Nothing at all," he replied. "Especially for someone as wonderful of you." Was her narcissism impregnable? Still....in his world both men and women were expected to act that way. But still, Kiki put them all to shame. But Magnus believed that no matter situations or genetics people were still human. Kiki was more complex than the arrogance she showed, Magnus was positive of it.

"What if there's other people worth sparing?" He pressed, watching her body language as he listened for her response. "What if there's many people worth sparing?"

Magnus thought for a moment. She was starting to push back now so he definitely had to think quickly. "Where do I fall?" He asked as he thought. "I am a Maxwell," he began. "It is my duty to hold myself to the highest standards. To rise to any occasion, to recover from any disaster, to overcome any defeat, to face any injustice." He gave her a thin but challenging smile. "And that includes the injustice of mass murder. Or purifying the world as you call it." Despite his outward confidence inside he did feel fear. He'd seen Kiki in battle and she was definitely not someone he could easily overcome. In fact it was definitely possible for her to defeat him. If it came to a fight.... He shook his head slowly, blocking out the possibilities. No matter who the victor, the outcome would be negative.

"We promised that we would make sure we never bow to anyone else and I swear to you I will keep this promise." He took a deep breath. He couldn't back down. "Which means if you begin your purification I will....make you bow to me." He grit his teeth slightly, his words calm, serious and confident.

Magnus mentally gave a sigh of relief. "I see," he replied simply. "I assume your sister is one of the people that need to be gone?" He asked, wondering exactly why that was. In his heart, he swore to himself that he wouldn't bow to her. That he would die first. And that may very well be the case. He cocked his head to the side slightly, an idea suddenly coming to him. "Is there anyone else you plan on sparing?" He asked her, wondering if she'd come in contact with others whom she deemed "worthy".

So three people then? Himself, her old Meister who made be dead and then someone else whose name she couldn't remember. Seemed like the post-purification world would be a little empty. "Oh, you know," he replied. "Just curious if you were planning on sparing any other lovely young ladies," he replied jokingly. He straightened one of his gloves with his other hand. "Although....I'll be dead if your plan succeeds so I suppose that won't matter." His expression grew slightly darker as the thought crossed his mind.

Kiki's question definitely got to the heart of the matter. Magnus realized he hadn't wanted to say it aloud or face it this directly. Don't be a coward, he thought to himself. "I am," he told her calmly. "I will not bow to you. You will have to kill me." His decision was final. He would stop Kiki's plan or die trying. Nevertheless, there was brief hesitation on his mind. At first he was unsure why. But then it hit him like a ton of bricks. It was for her sake too. He couldn't let her...his partner. His...friend? His.....he couldn't let her do it. Hurting other people, debasing herself with mass murder. Becoming an enemy of mankind. Giving in to madness and evil. Despite her arrogance, her confidence and strength were boundless. She was a beautiful girl. She deserved better than what she was doing to herself.

Magnus nodded slowly. He definitely didn't plan to die quickly, but he appreciated the fact that she didn't want to draw out any suffering he may endure. "Is peace that important to you though?" He asked. "So important that you'll sacrifice anything for it?" He paused for a moment. "If the world could be pure, but it meant that you would no longer be in it, would you be willing to sacrifice yourself for that purity?" He shifted slightly. Please say no... he thought to himself quietly. Please don't say you'll sacrifice yourself for this mad quest.... Surely the more she would give for it, the harder it would be for her to let go of it.
