 The brown haired Zeo was resting with his head in the clouds. The sounds of the ocean crashed against the Island of Serenitys beaches was so relaxing. He had no idea about anything going on in Midgar or in the World at this time but then again. He also didnt really care all that much anymore, it felt like none of it was his problem. The only thing he cared about now was protecting what little he knew of his family, which was Fenris and Unisha. But then again, he betted that the two had forgotten about him, again. He chuckled a bit and sat up, looking off at the ocean. Before raising his hand and saying," Its easy to go unnoticed, or at least...Its better that way sometimes. " He closed his eyes, and thought about the mark branded on his back. And let out a long sigh, before smiling a bit." Although, I could go fishing..."

 ___ ___ __ ___ ___ "Trust me, I don't pick fights I can't win." Walking along the beach of the Island of Serenity was Ephraim, the king of a faraway kingdom. It was a beautiful day outside. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming...
Ephraim looked into the horizon. It seemed like this island was so far detached from the rest of civilization. There wasn't another landmass to be seen for miles on end. Only a vast ocean of blue. It made sense that a mermaid would live on this island, but besides her, it seemed like no one came here that often.
That's why he was here. That mermaid had spoken of this island a good number of times, along with saying it was lonely there. So, he asked to have a little tour around the island, to see it for himself. And maybe they could have some fun while here. Clean fun. Probably.
He looked down at his usual heavy armor. "Maybe I should have worn something less... war-looking." But at the same time, wearing normal clothing was somewhat uncomfortable to him. He wanted to always be prepared for battle. Though it was unlikely this remote place would see much, still... one could never be too careful.
This was going to be the first date that they would hopefully finish. Most of their others seemed to be interrupted by one thing or another...  (( OOC: ))

While Ephraim walked along the white sandy beach, enjoying what may of been his first true peaceful moment in a long time, a peace that didn't involve battle or missed dates with his beloved sea princess, that said princess was slowly creeping up on him from behind! With the soft sand against her feet, it was near impossible to hear a sound. Expect maybe the rustle of her dress! Closer and closer she got until suddenly, Azura made her unsuspecting attack of the heavily armored king! ...An attack of deadly cuddles and a hug so tight even he couldn't escape! "Ephraim, so serious in all his armor! " She teased him with a small giggle. "Nothing will bother us, or interrupt us here..Come on, part of our time together is relaxing. That means your mind should do away with any worries you may have. At least for a little while? I want you to be comfortable, and, well, you might become rusty and then we might have a real problem on our hands.." She had let him go from the moment she began to speak,and slipped around so she was standing there in front of him instead. "I thought maybe a little later we could go for a swim, too. Unless you don't want to? " Of course she didn't want him doing anything he didn't want to, this time together was for both of them to enjoy after all, so long as they were together.

______________"Trust me, I don't pick fights I can't win.""Ah, hello Azura..." Ephraim said in slight amusement. "I was wondering when you'd show." He tilted his head as she slipped around him and began to speak. "Hmm. So says the girl in the dress?" He chuckled. "I can't imagine those are terribly comfortable. Though, I do love seeing you in that dress..." So much so, that he put his arms around her waist, pulling her to him and leaning down, kissing her rather passionately for a few moments...
After that brief moment, he kept one arm around her, raising one hand to brush some hair out of her eyes. "Besides, I don't have a change of clothes with me at the moment." He let her go for the moment, not wanting to make her uncomfortable or something. "That sounds fine. I'm not the best at swimming as you know, but it could still be fun." Just because he wasn't good at it didn't mean it wasn't fun to be in the water. He just didn't do it often.(( OOC: ))

"Hee,hee..Oh, I was here for a while. I had to...take care of one last thing to ensure a perfect time with you. " She wasn't going to say, that would be a fun surprise for later. " Hmm? But it is, it's especially comfortable for...--?? " Azura's words came to a short pause as she felt his arm slip around her waist, and herself pulled close to him and into a amazing, passionate kiss. She may be to shy to say it herself, if it wasn't already clear enough to tell just how much she loved when he surprised her with a kiss. Resting her hand over his shoulder, she would return the kiss.
By the end of her dreamy moment, and her ocean blue eyes met his as he gently brushed a lock of hair from her eyes, Azura felt she could melt away in his arms!
Though, unfortunately for the love dazed princess, he was more fearful of making her uncomfortable and finally let her go after a moment. Awww! Clearly, she could have stayed like that forever. Though she probably wouldn't want to in the long run, nether of them would be very comfortable after a long period of time in that position! "You can remove the heavy stuff, and leave what's under it on? " She may need to pick up on learning to sew one day, get her darling king some swim-ready shorts, or at least something comfortable for beach wear. "Don't worry about that, who are you with? " A mermaid! He was probably the safest person in the entire world when it came to being in the water. "There's perks involved in being with a mermaid!" She smiled, slipping her hand into his. "For now, we can continue this beautiful day walking the beach together..And if you get tired of sand, we can go to the forest. Where would you like to go? "

______________"Trust me, I don't pick fights I can't win.""Oh really? I hope you didn't go to too much trouble over me. Am I correct to assume you won't tell me what the thing is?" The way she worded that just made it seem so obvious.
"Hmmm..." After their kiss and her urging him to remove his armor, he smiled. "Are you that desperate to see me take off my clothes? Hmm. You're not such an innocent princess after all." He said, though obviously he was just playing with her. "You should know that I'm more comfortable in armor, but if you insist..." He began to remove his armor. "Do you want me to make this sexy for you?" Sexy was not a word often utilized in Ephraim's vocabulary, but it seemed to be used a lot in this world, so he picked up on the meaning eventually.
After a little bit of stripping, the only heavy armor he still wore was his boots. Aside from that, he still had his white pants on, and chainmail on his upper body which was underneath his plate armor. "Will that suffice? It's not exactly fashionable, but it isn't supposed to be." It was made to be effective, not look good. That being said, even if it didn't all match perfectly, it didn't look too bad on him. "I'm not with you for perks, but I can't say I'm not looking forward to seeing you in your other form." He grinned. There was something so extremely appealing about mermaids... He couldn't deny he was excited to see her as one again.
"I've seen a lot of the beach. We can go to the forest if you'd like. Walking in sand while wearing armor is never easy." Something he had to deal with quite a lot actually. "I feel we can use this as an opportunity to get to know each other better as well. I know a lot about your personality, but we haven't said too much about our past to one another. So, let's speak of our pasts and our families. If that subject isn't too sensitive?" He knew she had gone through a lot in terms of her family and what had happened to them. "And our kingdoms..." Since she was a princess, and he was a king. "Would you like me to go first? I don't mind."(( OOC: ))

"Mmhmm! You are correct." It wouldn't be quite as special if she just told him what it was. Sure, it may not of been something completely spectacular, but she felt he would like it still.
Ephraim's teasing however, wouldn't go quite so well as he planned as she smiled playfully. "What if I am? I might be! " Yes, she too was trying to play the tease game. She wasn't very good at it, but hey, at least she tried! At what he said next, even she had to giggle. What a strange word to hear coming from him, even she didn't use that word. "Oh, you don't need to. No matter what you do, you're always the most handsome. .......Though, I wouldn't mind the laugh.." Her amused smile returned. If he really did try such a thing, it would probably end in them both laughing at how silly he would look!
As he removed the lot of his armor, Azura glanced down at the large, bulky armored boots he still wore. "..I suppose they might provide use as an anchor if we wish to stay in one location under water for a while.." She giggled. "Or, you can just walk on the ocean's floor..." Oh, how funny of an image that was already in her mind.
"It's true you haven't seen me very often in my other form, isn't it? " A faint pink in color rose to her cheeks. "I'm just glad to hear you look forward to seeing it.."
"Oh, of course..I'm sorry! You should have said so sooner. Please don't hold anything back, if you are ever uncomfortable. " Giving him a little pull, she began to turn to lead him away from the beach, where they would start on their way for the forest. " I don't mind at all, though I suppose you have much more to tell, I will let you start first.." Seeing as her Kingdom was basically gone, for most of her life she really didn't have a lot to tell. Ephraim on the other hand, probably had a lot to speak of. He was an active King until finding his way to this world.

______________"Trust me, I don't pick fights I can't win.""Oh?" Ephraim chuckled a bit. "Well, if that's the case I think it's only fair that you remove yours as well. We could simply have this entire date in our undergarments." Was he bluffing or being serious, it was hard to be sure. "Perhaps not, then." He had no idea how to make anything look "sexy" anyway.
"Hmm. I suppose I could. All it takes to breathe underwater is a kiss from a mermaid, right? I should be able to now, actually." She probably had to be in her mermaid form, but who knew?
"I don't think you've ever really shown me. You were going to once, but..." Well, they were interrupted by a battle. Like always. "It's quite exciting. I'll look forward to it." That wasn't supposed to sound as dirty as it did...
"Don't apologize. I don't particularly care where we go." Even if they just did walk on the beach the entire day, it wouldn't be a bad time. "Hmm. Very well..." He cleared his throat.
"As you know, I am the king of a kingdom in a faraway world. That kingdom is named Renais, one of the countries on a continent named Magvel. My kingdom went through particular hardship when our neighboring empire, Grado, invaded our Renais and declared war on the rest of the continent. We had had friendly relations with Grado up to that point, so we were caught off-guard.I seized the opportunity, however, and invaded Grado with myself and a company of three men." Ephraim and three others invaded the largest empire in his world. "One of those men turned traitor, however. After capturing Castle Renvall, he helped to spring an ambush on myself and my two loyal men, Kyle and Forde. Had I not been quick on my feet, we would have been captured. But we narrowly evaded it..." He paused. "We had to turn right back around and return to Renvall when I learned Eirika had gone there in search of me. After that, we reunited briefly only to separate once more. I invaded Grado myself, along the way uniting with my old mentor, Duessel. Together, the two of us entered the capital of Grado, and seized the castle. That ended the war, though we then had to defeat the monsters and the Demon King Fomortiis. But that's beside the point. After our war with Grado, Renais was left a shadow of its former glory. The Paladin who betrayed me was left in charge of Renais after Grado took control, and they did nothing to govern the land. It turned into a kingdom where thieves and bandits could do as they pleased. Ever since our victory, though, I've been working tirelessly to restore Renais. With Eirika's help, we've done the best to quell the bandits and thieves, but it's a work in progress still. My efforts have caused the people to refer to me as "Restoration King," though there's still much work to be done once I return to my world..." He paused. He still thought about it often. He could only hope Renais remained in a good state even in his absence, but he worried.
"On the subject of my family... You've met my twin sister, Eirika. Without her, I wouldn't be where I am today. I feel closer to her than anyone else, and she's the only one I could truly depend on in my struggle against Grado." There were plenty of people who he did depend on, but not like Eirika. "My father's name was Fado, a capable ruler and a caring father. He did his best to raise us without a mother. He would always try his best to prepare me for being king, but I was a hotheaded child. I only cared about fighting and adventure, and the idea of being king was one I didn't want to consider. Now I wish I had given him more of my time. ...He was killed when Grado seized Renais. I have no memories of my mother... I'm led to believe she died shortly after Eirika and I were born." That was most of what he had to say about his family. He wished some things could have been different, but things ultimately made him who he was today, and he embraced that. He wasn't one to dwell on the past. And he had Eirika. That's what was important. "And what of you? Your kingdom, your family... share everything with me that you wish to." He would be happy to listen, and he wanted to learn more about her.(( OOC: ))

"Can that count for swim time instead? " Azura had a sudden, playful grin at her features. "You know, all I wear in my other form is a simple top!" A mermaid was lucky, the didn't need to be bothered by clothing. Most her life was spent using cute shells for a cover-up, until she became close with the humans and strayed away from the sea, and onto land. There she was surprised to see the many dressing styles of the humans clothing for swimming, and took to buying herself shimmery blue bikini tops, then modified them later with her own cute touches of tiny shells and pearls! "One day, I will get my cute Ephraim into something less then armor.." She did enjoy playing with him this way, all in fun innocence.
"No, not quite that simple. I will make it specially fun for you, my King deserves the best! " Whatever she meant by that was a mystery! As they continued to speak of her mermaid form next, her ocean-blues blinked once in surprise. "...That's right..Goodness, someone is really trying hard to keep us from spending time together, aren't they? To not have been able to show you my other form yet is honestly surprising.." Though she smiled after word, leaning against him gently as they walked hand in hand into the vast forest ahead. "We will just have to keep showing whatever it is, isn't going to win, right? I love every moment I spend with you, and wish our time would never have to end.." She wasn't trying to sound like some kind of stalker, obviously! She just loved being with him. She had to wonder though, was someone high above testing them? And she didn't think Nero. He would never do that.
As they walked through the paths, something of what Azura kind of created by the help of her trident's power, she put her full attention to Ephraim as he began to speak of his past. Only nodding every few moments upon each of his stories told, as to not interrupt him until he was finished. "You went through so much..I can't believe anyone would do such a thing, you say you were friendly with this kingdom? He must have had invading your Kingdom planned from the beginning.." Whenever he took the throne, she imagined. Why so suddenly attack and kill like that, and all to take over one kingdom. That was just terrible. At the mention of the man who betrayed him taking over and letting Ephraim's kingdom fall apart, Azura's eyes narrowed slightly. "..Is this paladin still a problem? If ever I find my way to your world, I would love to show him a little mermaid punishment! " Well, probably not as bad as that sounded. Azura wasn't a crazy torturer! But she did think he needed to pay for his betrayal of Ephraim. And allowing the place he loved so much to go to bandits and thieves? It didn't sound all that pleasant, or safe for weak citizens.
Azura paused a moment, looking away ahead of her. Something about what he said obviously bothered her.Though it wasn't the time to ask about it, not just yet.
Her smile began to return at the mention of his family, he didn't need to tell her to much about Eirika, she had already known his sister was very dear to him, and a sweet and kind young woman. Hearing of his father having to struggle to raise his two children alone brought a small frown to her face, so they had grown up without a mother? How terribly sad. Ephraim's father certainly did do a wonderful job of raising his children, who they were today just proved that. Then, he too lost his life in one mans greed to take what wasn't his. "You know, your father and mother must surly be so proud of you, both of you. No matter where you are now, there's nothing that could stop them from seeing what kind of a wonderful man their son grew to be.." She hoped she didn't sound silly, even if Ephraim didn't feel bad and didn't dwell on the past, she wanted to make sure he knew that.
And then it came time to explain her story, unfortunately though, she had told him already most of what he already knew of hers. She didn't have such a long story, but she would try to explain a little better of what she once called home so many years ago. "Forgive me, my story won't be quite so much as you might want to hear. As you know, I was still very young when my kingdom was attacked. It was called the Kingdom of Heavens Decent. Before it's fall, it was truly the most beautiful place you ever seen. Outside of the kingdom was made of nothing but coral of all colors, while inside was the true beauty. With the power of my father's Trident he created a form of rare crystal for the a palace, each pathway and room was created using this, and I believe he used stone for other structures. The power of the Mystic Pearl created small flowers to grow around and inside to give just enough light, it was beautiful. And it was busy! My family was very large..Sometimes I find myself wondering how my parents ever manged to handle us all. I was the youngest of my brothers and sisters..My father and mother were both wonderful, they did everything to keep us safe and happy. Though they were strict of the surface, even with other Serenitians, such as the ones at Serenity. I suppose in a way, I was a lot like you myself. I didn't want to always be there in one kingdom my whole life. I wanted to explore and see even more of life. So I would sneak off and see Phoenix and Unisha from time to time.At that time I never left the water, but still had a great time meeting others. Afina, my mother, I beleive she understood me more then father, I even think she knew where I was going but she never told my father. "
As they continued, Ephraim may notice something quite large following them slowly, using the tree's to leap from as it kept up with them. A panther, at first. Then there was a leapered, and next, a few tropical, vibrantly colored macaws flying over. Where they keeping watch of Azura, or just curious of him? Who knew! Azura didn't seem to worried, which may tell him they were in no danger. Of course the Serenitian princess was friends with all her animal families here! "Though, that is really all there is of the good side of my story. At such a young age of six, there was little I could do and remember. It seems everything after that is all that remains the most in my mind. " She spent only six years of her life with her family and small kingdom, and the rest alone and on the run constantly from Yuriko. "I think i've told you all that happened after my kingdom was attacked? " If she didn't, or there was anything in particular he wanted to know, of course she would try to answer.
