"Baby sister duty falls to Val," he said. "And for the record, that only happened once."
"With the little one, at least," Val said, pulling Angel onto her lap. "All right. Here's the basics. Don't rape anyone, ask to feed, exercise your wings, and enjoy yourself. Don't give Mala and Van a single moment alone, especially at night. Okay?" She chuckled at Angel's vigorous nodding. "Good girl."
Angel began to fling herself onto Mala, but saw she was busy and did the next best thing, walking to Riley and holding his hand.

Ceri smiled at Val's words. She then turned to her friend. "So this is good bye for a while," she said, leaving it more a question than a statement. She was looking at Mala and Van.

"If we don't get time alone when we need it, you aren't coming." Mala said flatly, overhearing what Val had said. She wasn't stupid, and it was more than likely Angel actually believed everything that Val had said that she should do. "Only warning." Mala then offered a small smile to Ceri. "I guess it is, for now. I'll make sure to find you again, I promise!"

"Not clinging onto Mala? And here I was thinking I wasn't cling worthy." Riley said to Angel with a chuckle, though in his head he was thinking 'Oh god, I'm next....' fearing that he'd become Angel's next cling victim.

Angel studied him for a long moment, then simply hugged him, saying nothing, and then held his hand again. Riley was nice and warm. She made her heart go beat-beat to warm herself up, although she knew she'd never get close to a living person's body temperature.

Mala walked alongside Van, feeling like they were setting off for another chapter of adventure once more. She remained silent for many moments, or at least, until the four were no longer in sight of Ceri and the others. "Van? Are you mad at me?" she asked softly.

"Nah, of course not." Van said wrapping an arm around Mala's shoulders before seeming to think a bit. "Well, maybe just a smidge." he said holding up his thumb and forefinger with barely a millimeter of space between the two. "I was hoping that we'd actually have the chance to revel in our newfound love," he said in mock dramatic fashion. "but as long as Riley seems to have Angel occupied, I'm happy."

"I promise, I'll make it up to you as much as I can." Mala said, somehow suspecting that this was to become Van's calling card when he was upset at her to rival her mentioning how he possessed her brother. She felt like she'd never hear the end of it once Angel got bored of Riley.
