Lunora smiled softly, stroking their hair softly, occasionally rubbing one of their ears. "Because I want you to grow up smart and ready for just about anything. Don't pay attention to all those other kids. If it makes you feel better, me and your Uncle Luke weren't well received around these parts as well before joining the castle staff." she said, giving each a kiss on their head before taking them into her arms, careful they didn't hit Demetri and wake him.

Damian couldn't help but curl up in his mother's arms, closing his eyes contentedly. "What about Dad?" he asked curiously, staring down at Demetri.

Lunora smiled some as both princes had shut their eyes. "He wasn't well liked either, my sons. At one time he used to be trying to kill me."

Damian's eyes flew open. This story had just gotten interesting. He twisted a little and looked up at his mother. "Really? I tried to kill you? How did that work?"

Lunora smiled some. "A story for a later date, my princes." she said, petting them softly. "For now just get some rest. You all seem tired."

Damian sighed unhappily, but closed his eyes and curled against his mother. As he started to fall asleep, he inched closer to Hakaru, falling fully asleep once he could feel his brother right beside him. [OOC:] How long are we gonna keep them children?

[OOC:] We can skip to them being teens and Otosan coming in. Damian is probably a ladies man. Hakaru is just the shyest little thing ever! XD
Hakaru smiled some, feeling his brother next to him and falling asleep as well.
Lunora smiled softly and took turns petting her sons, then her husband. They liked to sleep so much...

Otosan was always watching. He watched his daughter take care of her sleeping family, and he narrowed his eyes. How dare she have the family Kisame never got to have! He was still hurt, crippled, and he would need to bide his time. But as he stepped into the shadows, leaving the area, he vowed to kill Lunora's husband and sons, and make her feel the loneliness Kisame had in death. [OOC:] Sounds cool

A few years passed and the princes grew. As predicted, Damian always had a girl on his arm, while Hakaru, having the most admirers, kept to himself and his studies. Hakaru had chosen to keep his hair long, letting his mother braid it for him as Damian kept his short. The boys had excelled in their studies, moving on to more advanced things than what the actual castle school offered. Which meant private lessons from the uncles and Anya.
On one particular day, Hakaru was mulling around under the willow tree he liked to visit. Mulling wouldn't be the right word here. He was sound asleep in the grass, a book in his hand laying on his chest. He was using his satchel as a pillow, having put an actual small pillow in it so he could sleep comfortably on this warm spring day.

It was a beautiful spring day in Mesilici, and a day where classes had been canceled. Jethrow was in his study with both the windows open, listening to the chattering down below on the lawn. In the few years that had passed, he'd started to look older, if only slightly. His aging process had slowed a lot since the day years ago when Demetri's curse had been lifted off of him, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to look older. His classes had progressed, as well, and he was sad, yet glad, to see many of his students leave the castle. Their names kept floating back to him in news, and it always made him feel proud. Of course, he held Anya and Hakaru as his highest accomplishments.
Anya and Searan, too, looked older. They no longer looked like teenagers, about how old Damian and Hakaru were now, but looked like young adults. Anya no longer had classes with Jethrow, and was a full-fledged teacher. However, her status had gone from taking over Jethrow's potions classes. Of course, she still did that, but now she had a healing class of its own, specifically for students who discovered they could heal. She had some of Searan's help, but not much.
Searan, too, had his own classes. He taught a magical creatures class, which may not have been world renowned, but Jethrow agreed was a good idea. Since it had been years, he had managed to find a place in the slightly dysfunctional family that resided in the castle. He'd also managed to pull off a good impression on Anya's family the one time she'd been convinced to take him with her.
Demetri didn't look a day older from the day his sons had been born, though he certainly felt it. He, too, taught on his own now, taking over things that were pushed from Jethrow's ever growing curriculum. He was proud of his sons as he watched them grow up. He was always trying to keep Damian calm and trying to rile Hakaru up, though it never seemed to work. To his surprise, though Damian always seemed to take the more fiery personalities of both his parents and combine them, he could always see something of himself in Hakaru.
Damian wandered out onto the lawn after eating lunch, a cocky smirk on his face as always. He had nothing really to do, but he wasn't in the mood for hanging around girls that day. He had his pick of them, but most of them were annoying him for the time being. He inhaled deeply, finding his brother's scent easily and moving towards it. It was no surprise to Damian to find Hakaru asleep, and he just silently dropped into the grass beside his brother, leaning against the tree and waiting for him to wake up.

Lunora hadn't changed a day either, though her and Luke hadn't needed to compensate for their large classes. Luke was still teaching his strategy classes, war history, and weapons care and maintenance. His sister still had her swordsmanship class and she had even gotten a dojo made from one of the large vacant rooms in the castle. But she had to branch out to other weapons due to so many students. So not only did she teach the way of the sword, but also the spear, lance, dagger, and bow. And she seemed to be the favorite among the male student body. Must have been her figure which Demetri guarded quite closely.
Hakaru stirred some, feeling the vibration in the earth of Damian plopping down next to him. It only took a few more minutes before his eyes fluttered open and he yawned deeply and sat up. He looked over to see his twin there and he smiled. "Didn't keep yo waiting too long did I?"

Demetri hugged Lunora from behind, dropped his chin onto her shoulder and smiling. "Boo," he said, though there was no way he'd scared her.
Damian looked down at Hakaru and shrugged at the twin. "No, not really. I'm sorta hiding from the populace."
In the shadows, Otosan stood ready. He was undetected, and he was keeping this that way. However, he was getting ready for his attack. He'd watched his grandsons grow up happily, and he hated them for that. How dare Lunora give them a mother when she had none herself. He narrowed his eyes at the teenage boys, crossing his arms. Yes, his time was coming.

Lunora smiled and hugged her husband back. "Hello dear. Class go well?" she asked, giving the end of his hair a playful tug.
Hakaru smiled some and put his book away in his bag. "Tired of being around the girls?" he asked, laughing some. But something made him uneasy. Like there was something there was watching them, but he brushed it off. He got that feeling frequently so he dismissed it casually. "So what shall we do today, brother? Pester one of our beloved uncles, set the chickens loose in the dining hall again, or something?"

Demetri smiled and shrugged. "I suppose you could say that. At least nobody is dead yet, an accomplishment if you see some of these lunatics," he said sarcastically, kissing Lunora's cheek.
Damian smirked wickedly and stretched his arms over his head. "I was thinking something a little more theatrical. Involving fire, perhaps. Maybe set off some fireworks in the lawn and see everyone else running and screaming," he said, turning to his twin.
Otosan took a step closer to the boys, producing a new and improved ice sword. It was twice as large as the one he'd initially tried to kill his daughter with, and it was more magically infused. He started to stalk through the shadows. He would need to attack the boys while they were alone.

Lunora just laughed some and played with his hair more. "What a sense of humor you have."
Hakaru laughed some. "Fireworks? Isn't it a little early in the year for those? Can't we save em?" he asked, studying his brother before his ear swiveled backwards. The younger prince looked behind him, his ears focused in on the sound of just that one large footstep. "Damian. We need to leave." he whispered ever so quietly to Damian, almost getting ready to run.
