Earendil shook his head and chuckled softly. "That was such a long time ago ... I'm afraid I don't remember most of your siblings. I must apologize for that."

But in his defense, even if he had been introduced to them all at one time or another, he hardly spent any time with any of them. And that had been decades ago!


Haldia stared at Naida, and stared some more. In face, she stared so long that she almost forgot that she needed air. As soon as she realized it, she started up towards the surface again, her legs propelling her quickly through the water.

Once she broke the surface, she gasped for air. "She's blue!" she called out to Lin and Earendil, prying her wet hair away from her face again.

Haldia laughed. "You had better be careful," she grinned at Naida, forgetting for a moment that she wouldn't be understood. "If you wake Miyuki things are going to get a bit hectic!"

Earendil chuckled. "You can say that again." He grinned at Naida. "Hello. Long time no see."

Now that he was seeing her, he did vaguely remember her. But again, it had been a long time ago.

Earendil and Haldia stared in amazement as Naida swam through the air.

Earendil was the first to recover, and he laughed at her question. "Well, I suppose I am," he grinned. "It's almost a holiday for me, after all, being away from home again. So why not?"

Haldia swam towards the dock and pulled herself up onto it, dripping water everywhere. She was careful not to get Lin or Miyuki wet, though. She had been serious about not waking the infant.

"That is Naida?" she asked Lin curiously, nodding at the mergirl who was floating in the air.

Earendil chuckled at Naida. "Well, we all have legs," he grinned, "and we have all sorts of fun. It might be more of a challenge, but I'm sure that you can have fun with legs, just as much as without."

He smiled. "By the way, Naida, this is Haldia." He pointed over at Haldia, and Haldia smiled at Naida.

Haldia laughed and nodded. Of course she would love to play! Especially in the water. She loved to swim! She pointed at the river, grinning at Naida, asking her silently if she wanted to swim together with her.

Earendil chuckled. "If the two of them swim together, I may just stay up on the dock," he grinned.

Haldia didn't need a second invitation: she grinned and dove into the water right behind Naida. She resurfaced shortly and splashed some water at Naida, careful not to get those who were still on the dock at all.

Earendil grinned at Lin. "No, I'm just feeling lazy, I guess," he chuckled. "It's been a crazy day, I think I'm just ready for a bit of a rest, is all. It's relaxing, sitting on the dock here like this. No rush for anything, no one to answer to ..."

And he wasn't a very good swimmer yet, even though Leyenda and Kelirahc had taught him during their time on the two islands.

Haldia took the water full in the face and laughed. "Race?" she grinned, pointing down the river at a rock that was showing above the water's surface. She was a strong swimmer, she knew Naida would have an advantage but still, she felt as though she could give her a bit of a challenge.

Earendil smiled sheepishly at Lin. "To be honest, I'm starting to feel as if I could use a bit of a break," he admitted. "I mean ... I do want to meet everyone, but today's just been a little difficult. Maybe I'm not used to so much excitement. Palace life is usually so quiet, after all."
