"Oh, sweetie, you shouldn't be jumping out of windows," Tommy said with a sigh.
Doku was still asleep with a cast on his foreleg.
There were bandages around Zori's shoulder, which hadn't been damaged too badly.

 ZoriZori sighed heavily.
"I think I'll be hearing that a lot after this..." She replied sullenly, her golden eyes glazed over, and her ears flicked back in a depressed manner.
"Nothing I do is right anymore. I should never have joined the guild..." She sighed again, staring at her paws.

Doku---&--- TommyTommy shook his head lightly.
"Oh, don't say that, honey," The Delcatty said.
"Believe me, the guild is happy to have everybody! You'll find your place eventually~"
Doku whined a little in his sleep, shifting around a little.

ZoriZori glanced up at the Delcatty, her eyes dull and disbelieving.
"If you say so." She replied quietly, not having the energy or enthusiasm required to argue with him.
Hell, she didn't even really know who he was, let alone feel like arguing with him.
From now on, she'd have to focus on training. No more bouncing around and getting herself mixed up in drama she didn't know how to handle.
She flopped down onto her belly, watching the Delcatty in silence.

Doku---&--- TommyThe Delcatty raised a paw and lightly stroked the fur on top of Zori's head.
"Trust me, sweetie. Things will be alright~"
With that, the Delcatty turned around with a meow and left the two Eevees alone.
Muttering something inaudible, Doku snuggled up close to Zori and wrapped his good foreleg around her fluffy tail.

ZoriZori felt yet another stab of guilt as Doku snuggled closer to her. He was probably seeking warmth. Or comfort.
She awkwardly pressed her little fluffy body up against his, trying to keep him warm.
She just felt so confused. Would she have to choose between her best friends just because they were different? Why couldn't she stand and face any of her problems? Why did she feel the need to run away all of the time?
She flicked an ear sadly. Maybe one day she'd figure it all out. Until then, this was her life as she knew it.

DokuDoku's eyes slowly began to open.
"Z-Zori...?" He asked softly.
"Ow..." The Eevee then whimpered after trying to move his paw, which he forgot was broken.
"Where are we...?"

ZoriZori glanced down at Doku, and sighed sadly.
"We're in the hospital." She replied quietly, turning her head away. He was in pain.
She swallowed nervously. She couldn't feel her own pain as much, having been dosed a fair amount of painkillers to keep her quiet and sluggish. The nurses had learned rather quickly that she was a terrible patient without something to slow her down.

DokuThe young male tilted his head to the side.
"Why are we- Oh yeaaaaah..." He said softly.
He looked at his injured leg and sighed.
"Never again will I jump out a window."

ZoriZori glanced at Doku, swallowing nervously.
"I'm so sorry, Doku..." She whispered. "I'm such a coward... I... I didn't know what to do, so I... I just had to escape! ...I'm just so confused."
"Lumon is braver than I am, for Arceus' sake!"
She hid her face shamefully in her paws. "I need to shut up..." She mumbled through a mouthful of charcoal fur.

DokuDoku let out a whimper as Zori acted quite depressed.
He leaned over and gave her a tender lick on the cheek.
"Zori, it's not your fault..." He said softly.
"We're Eevees. It's an instinct for us to run away from things like that," Doku explained.
He let out a sigh and nuzzled Zori lovingly.

ZoriZori seemed unsure for a moment, but relaxed as Doku nuzzled her.
She returned the gesture, intertwining their tails, and pressing her muzzle affectionately to his.
"...Doku? She murmured quietly. "...Thanks. I'll try to be a better friend from now on; I promise."
She still felt terrible, but at least Doku seemed to have forgiven her. It felt good to know that no matter what happened, at least someone wasn't angry with her.

DokuDoku purred and nuzzled Zori's muzzle.
"It's fine, Zori," He said softly.
"If anything, what happened to me is my fault. I should have taken the stupid stairs~"
The Eevee could still joke around, even in his current state.

ZoriZori giggled quietly.
"Wish I'd thought of that~" She purred back, pricking her ears forward.
She curled her tail around him protectively, resting her chin on the back of his neck. "Stairs are definitely safer than windows." She agreed.

"Well, even if it's in a hospital, we still got some peaceful alone time~" He said with a little giggle, blushing a tiny bit.
