Kairi Kairi gave Riku a small smile when he nodded and said they were all fine. "That's-good," Kairi said, still completely winded from sprinting for 15 minutes straight. Riku looked around at the others and the Princess did the same. She was very glad to see that her friends weren't hurt too badly. As the crimsonette was looking around another person had shown up. Because of the darkness Kairi thought for a split second it was Sora and her heart, which was pounding against her chest from all the running, skipped a beat. But then she saw it wasn't Sora, but his Nobody. The crimsonette hadn't seen Roxas in a while so she was glad the boy was okay. The red head didn't dwell on Roxas's sudden appearance for too long though, for Lakayna's voice had entered her mind. Lakayna said that she couldn't change back. She sounded scared. Lakayna then asked herself what would her father say when he saw her like this. Kairi walked over to Lakaya and sat down beside her. She stroked the dragon's smooth head and spoke to her with her mind and said, "Don't worry Lakayna. I know you'll be able to change back. And even if your father does see you like this, if he loves you like all of us here love you, he won't care. It doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, what matters is the person inside." The Princess wasn't sure if she was helping or not, but she hoped that she had given Lakayna at least a little comfort.

Naminé Miss Memory Witch
Several things happened fairly quickly. Naminé had been waiting for some kind of reply from Hikari but her attention shifted from Riku's Twin as she felt a very familiar presence appear. Her head lifted and she turned away from Hikari, her eyes scanning the beach and she noticed Kairi standing between the two groups, bent over and gasping for breath. Immidietely, guilt surged through Naminé and she felt horrible about having left her Somebody but she hadn't really thought about it. Just acted. She'd have to make sure to apologize to Kairi later.
A few moments after Kairi showed up, Roxas appeared, running up to them. The Nobody's eyes instantly turned to the other blond's and she opened her mouth to greet him but quieted as soon as Riku stood up and walked over to the bo, standing in such a way that he blocked Roxas' path to her. Awww, crap. Roxas didn't know that she and Riku were dating... what would he say when he found out? Naminé caught the tone in her boyfriend's voice as he said Roxas' name and she sighed. Hopefully she could set things straight between the two boys soon. The girl remained seated on the sand beside Hikari who suddenly spoke, saying that her glasses felt the same as her old ones and taht she hoped they'd work as well during the day. "They should," Naminé replied quietly, finally getting up to her feet and brushing off her school skirt. But the movement had proved too sudden for her and the girl wavered, her vison going black for a moment before she shook her head and regained her completely footing. The petite blonde had used a lot of energy and was exhausted but she was going to stay here and continue to help her friends.
Riku then cast cure on Lakayna and that seemed to help as she got more energy to lift her head and speak to them all. However, her voice sounded scared and she told them she couldn't change back. Naminé frowned, but then the look on her face softened and she moved towards Lakayna the same time Kairi did. Sometimes it seemed as though the Princess and the Nobody really were the same -- speaking at the same time or making the same movements, as just now. However, Naminé remained silent and Kairi spoke. The petite blonde stopped a few feet away from Lakayna, seeing as how a lot of people were surrounding her. 'Kairi's right, Lakayna. He'll still love you. Even though you may appear different on the outside, you're still the same person. Still Lakayna,' she said gently with her mind, and because of her connection with Kairi, the Princess was able to hear it as well as Lakayna.

Riku nodded to the dragon, glad that he could help. Kairi and Naminé both came over to comfort Lakayna. Riku put one arm around the blonde and hugged her softly. He was glad that neither of them had been injured during the small catastrophe. Now he was going to deal with Roxas. He leaned his cheek on Naminé's head before speaking. "Thank you, Naminé," he let his one-armed hug end. He was going to return to Axel and Roxas. "Stay with her, okay."
The silvernette checked on his sister and told her just to relax and get out of her form before doing or worrying about anything, and then went to Axel's side. He crossed his arms over his chest. He glanced at the flamer. "Are you good yet?" he asked, refering to the shield that was still holding the island with caution. His eyes fell back onto Roxas, a glare melting into the teal pools.

Lakayna laid her serpantine head back down on the sand just before Kairi and Namine came over. When the girls each spoke to her and Kairi rubbed her snout, Lakayna felt a bit more at ease. A low humming could be hear in her throat. Lakayna was actually purring, strange as it may seem.

Ηικαŕι Hikari was still sitting on the sand when Roxas appeared and Kairi and her Nobody went to Lakayna. When she was told by Riku to relax and change out of her Dark Form, she simply shook her head. "I can't, Riku," she said quietly. "Yeah, I think we're fine now," Axel said to Riku when he asked if he was good about the shield. He then turned his head at the sudden appearance of Roxas. "Hey Roxas! Where've you been?" he asked and then looked at Lakayna. "Your dad knows that you're part dragon right? If he does then the shock wouldn't be as bad, would it?"

Kairi Kairi hadn't noticed until now that Naminé had walked towards Lakayna at the same exact time as she had. Kairi smiled. She and Naminé not only looked alike, but they also shared the same feelings. Naminé then spoke to Lakayna with her mind, and because of the connection the princess had with the petite blonde, she heard her words through her mind as well. Naminé told Lakayna that the crimsonette was right, that reguardless of what she looked like she was still the same person and that her father will still love her. Kairi was glad to hear that her Other agreed with her. Kairi continued stroking Lakaya as the petite blonde spoke, moving her hand up and down her head and rubbing her snout. As she did this she heard a low humming coming from her dragon friend's throat. At first the red head couldn't figure out what the noise was, but then she realized Lakayna was actually purring. That answered her question as to wether or not she was comforting Lakayna or not. The princess gave a soft smile and thought to herself, "See? How could anyone not love her? She's like a big, sweet kitty cat."

Riku nodded and let the shiled fall. He left Axel then. He didn't want to look at Roxas. His face just pissed him off. Not because it was Sora's but because it was so close to Sora's and that blonde was just an a** to him. The silvernette returned to Hikari and knelt in front of her. "What do you mean? Why can't you change back?" he asked. She needed to change back.

Ηικαŕι "You weren't the first one to have a Dark Form," she said. "I've been in this form for years, that's why I always wear my black coat. I don't even remember what my skin looks like anymore," she said looking at her deep blue palms.

Riku stared at her. This was unbelievable. He wished for a moment that the man that did this to her was still alive just so he could kill him again. Riku tried to push that thought away and sighed. "Well, we're gonna have to fix it...somehow. King Mickey wasn't able to do anything?" riku whispered to her.

Ηικαŕι She shook her head. "The King did as much as he could, but he said that the Darkness had changed my heart somehow over the years to the point to where I need it to survive. It's like my heart has become linked to the Darkness itself, so I can't be severed from that link without losing my heart completely," she explained.

Riku frowned. "I don't care. I'm gonna find something I can do for you, Hikari," he stated. He wasn't going to let her be like this forever. She was going to get the same chance as he did.

Ηικαŕι She shook her head. "Riku you don't understand. You lived your whole life in the light and even when your heart became tainted with darkness, your heart was still able to cope with it so that you can control when you go into your Dark Form. Darkness was the way of life for me when I grew up. The shock of getting the light exposed in my heart would be too much. It will destroy me, Riku," she said slowly. ((I've had her bio developed for nearly as long as KH has been around. If I were to tell you guys her complete story, it would be rather depressing indeed.))

Riku's frown seemed to have morphed into his face. He didn't want Hikari to have to live like this, but it seemed there was no way to save her from herself. He hated this. There was really nothing he could say now. He couldn't keep fighting her and there was no way he could vocalize his defeat, so he just looked to the sand. He needed to smoke, the urge hit him suddenly, but he didn't have the time right now. (You make me want to cry!)

Ηικαŕι She leaned forward and rested a hand on his shoulder. "Don't feel sorry for me. The Darkness doesn't hurt me like it would hurt someone else. My heart is still just as strong as yours. If it wasn't, I would've faded away a long time ago, but I'm still here."

Lakayna closed her eyes, a smile as serene as any dragon could manage appeared on her face. Unknown to the young dragon, Lakayna's father had been watching from his bedroom window. Their house was close to that very beach. He was worried when his daughter hadn't come home from school that day, but he trusted her enough that he knew she could take care of herself. When he heard that draconic roar, he rushed to the window. He'd seen the struggle between his daughter and people who'd helped her, seen it as his daughter and two people still clinging to her fell head-first into the chilly sea. He'd seen everything happen, and was glad that the foreign darkness that had tainted her for so long was finally gone.
