"I'm surprised no one needs my staves." The bishop shrugged, before just taking a bit of a rest on another of the chairs inside the mansion. Striking a match, she lit a candle on a nearby end table, letting its sweet scent fill the room. It was a soft, subtle lavender, and if she knew anything, it was that the scented candles temples gave her as offerings were the best to calm any nerves.
Victoria didn't feel like sleeping. She was too anxious for that. Besides... when she had been injured before, she got plenty of rest. By now, most of those burns from her self-inflicted Divine were healing. It was a good thing her magic worked to do that fast.

Amelia paused, hearing a voice from near the main room. Was that... that was Victoria, wasn't it? Hadn't she gone with Ayra to find Tibarn? She started back to the main room, the mild panic and thoughts swirling in her head too active to let her get any sleep. The minor healing Rei had granted her were enough to keep her on her feet, especially now that she only had her own weight to support.
"Victoria...!" she breathed, smiling in relief. It was her; that was a good sign, her coming back in one piece as she was. "You're back... how did your mission go?"

"Well, I suppose." Victoria said calmly. The candles really did work to soothe her. "Arashe was injured, but my staff spared his life. The Lady Swordmaster Arya... she returned Tibarn to his true senses. He turned into that giant hawk to bring the rest of us here." {And I guess they're inside now, but they're not posting, but just assume they're inside. They'll be here when they post. 8D}

The Hawk King leaned heavily on his mate as they staggered through the doors. It would have been funny, seeing a six-and-a-half foot man with enormous hawk wings leaning on a woman who was perhaps a foot shorter, but Tibarn was having trouble even putting one foot in front of the other, he was now so exhausted.
"Baby Vah," he murmured, pushing himself up and rubbing his face. "Got t'see babyvah..." Though he was the first of the darkened to return conscious, there was no greeting; though not hurt as terribly as the others, the scuffed-up Hawk King was evidently about to collapse from exhaustion and had no time for frivolities that did not involve his only daughter.

He was getting hard to carry. While admittedly he had carried them all the way back to the manor, gratitude made him feel no more lighter on her shoulder than the sack of muscle and meat that he was, in this state. Thankfully, his bones- hollow as they were- made supporting his weight much easier than if someone like Siegell (and all his armor) had tried leaning on her.
Not that he would, given the fact that she wouldn't let him get within a sword's reach of her if she could help it.
"Hey!" Looking to Amelia, who had approached them anyway, Ayra shifted the weight she carried to as tolerable a position as she could manage before asking her the favor that Tibarn had pretty much requested on his own.
"Vaherianslyeri. Our little Vah. Can you bring her here, Amelia?"

Amelia nodded once, sinking to a sitting position next to Victoria's chair. Somehow, getting into a real chair wasn't of much importance. She nodded slowly in response to the lady bishop's news, chewing this over. "They're all right, then..." she murmured.
As if on cue, Tibarn then appeared at the door, leaning on Ayra for support. Amelia looked up, nearly leaping to her feet. When he stared straight ahead, not even noticing the people around them, Amelia slowly settled back against the ground. There was no getting through to him in that kind of mood. Amelia vaguely wondered where Vah was, exactly, then looked back to Victoria.
"Where is Arashe? Sleeping in his room?" she asked.

Lyre smiled and nodded to Amelia as she arrived, but overall didn't have much to add to the conversation. She stroked Vah's hair absently, even if the baby wouldn't like it much, just to have something to do.... but the door soon enough opened downstairs, and she could hear more commotion.
"Guess who's back, Vah? Let's go see mommy and daddy, alright?" She lifted the baby gently from her bassinet, and balanced her in her arms as she went downstairs.
"Someone's been missing you..." Lyre stood at the bottom of the stairs, Vah in her arms still grasping her bottle.

Amelia shifted a little on the floor, looking at her toes. Victoria hadn't even responded to her yet, but still she felt anxious. She didn't want to stay sitting still. She was exhausted, but she didn't want to sleep; she needed to rest, but didn't want to stay in one place for long. Amelia vaguely wondered if she was simply overtired and running on adrenaline as she pulled herself to her feet, absently telling Victoria to nevermind her question and a few brief words expressing the hope that she would feel back to her usual energy soon before leaving the main room.
She didn't really think about where she was walking, just letting her bare feet carry her over the wooden flooring, hands at the hem of her long shirt, but when she found herself standing in front of Rhys' door, Amelia just had to wonder what exactly she even meant to do here. He's probably asleep, or he's sick and he's trying to sleep... oh, to heck with it...
Amelia took in a little breath, then turned the knob and opened the door as quietly as possible. She winced as the hinges creaked audibly. "Rhys...?" she called in quietly, stepping lightly, like she was treading on private space.
Which she basically was.

"Aa-aaaugh..."
Rhys turned back to the door, looking pale and sweaty. Tucking himself under the covers had merely changed him from feeling cold to feeling uncomfortably warm. Kishuna had been kind enough to sit out some juice on the nightstand beside him and put a damp cloth on his forehead--he'd been starting to run a fever, too.
"Oh. H-hi, Amelia... ugh..."
He rolled over all the way to face her. His amber eyes remained focused on her, yet they also seemed screwed up in pain and discomfort.
"...I can't sleep," he admitted. "Same with you?"

Amelia frowned, her heart lurching up to the vicinity of her throat at the sight of Rhys in his bed, pale and sweating. She realized just how far he'd pushed himself in that rumble at the forest's edge, and noiseless drops of guilt colored her expression. "I..." she started, then paused, unsure of how to finish the sentence. Taking the simple route, deciding it was just going to make things easier, she nodded. "Yeah. Couldn't." She walked over towards him, eyes sweeping the room until they landed on a small stool nearby. Amelia hefted it up and carried it over, and when she sank to a sitting position next to the bed, she could rest her forearms easily on the mattress before Rhys. One hand reached out and brushed his hair from the damp cloth over his forehead, concern touching her eyes.
"Looks like it's gotten worse," she stated, not knowing what else to say beyond stating the obvious. "Do you need anything else...?" she questioned, her voice softening a little, suddenly unsure if she was speaking too loudly.

Rhys couldn't help but smile as Amelia brushed his hair. It's kind of nice to have someone care over you like this--having a pretty girl show some concern.
"I'll be fine... in a few days." Rhys answered. "I think I feel better already, knowing you're around."
You should marry her, you know.
Rhys blushed a little, smiling a bit more widely.
...Maybe when I'm healthy. Besides... I'm still lacking in engagement rings.
...
...But I'll get one when I'm able!

Amelia smiled, unable to suppress the small giggle that appeared on her lips. "Well, I'm glad me coming in has helped," she told him, adjusting the cloth against his forehead. She leaned down as he blushed, noticeable despite the slight flush of his skin from the fever. Amelia decided not to worry about the fact that he was ill and technically could cause her to become ill, too, and hugged him gently. She kissed his cheek, then sat up, glancing to the juice on his bedside table. That was all Kishuna had left him? Rhys needed some water, too. Some good, cool water.
"Do you want me to get you anything?" she tried again, just to make sure. She brushed her fingers along a seam of his robes, near his neck, not quite knowing what else to do with her hands. "Or do you just want me to let you sleep...?"

Rhys felt a little giddy as Amelia kissed him, then ran her fingers along his robes. Ahh, if only she actually WERE a doctor, I'd feel naughty. ...Stop that, me!
"Actually..." he thought about it. He looked over to the juice. "I am kind of hungry. Do we... have anything?"
Unbelieveable. He was still retching, but could still think about food and women.

Amelia chuckled softly, and she smiled. Sick and yet he was hungry. She vaguely knew the feeling as she rose to her feet, tucking the blankets more securely around him. "I'm sure we do. I'll check, so you just rest." She smoothed his hair out again, then left the room, closing the door behind her before setting off at a light jog, slowing once she had arrived in the kitchen. The next few minutes kept her busy with rummaging in cabinets, trying to find something suitable for a sick man to eat.

Rhys was actually rather thankful Amelia had left at that moment. For the most part, he'd felt more bile in his throat, and he'd needed to seize the "barf bucket" and, well... you get the idea.
But more importantly, it gave him a moment to think about it.
...Yeah. I'd been wanting to sleep with her, but... I want more than just her body. I want HER. I want to live here, in peace, with her. Why else did I come here? I came here because I was still missing something in life, and I found it.
He stared at the ceiling, waiting for her to come back.
