Alexa smiled a little. "But how can I not?" she demanded, all innocence. "When you're just...oh, wait. We're not talking about the same thing anymore, are we. Whoops."

Leon smiled at his old friend and his wife "lets see the might of this..." Leon thought about what Mathias said and said "there is a great evil below at work as well and he sends out calls too"

Alex heard troops he drew his blade and said "we're under attack we've got to move!" he looked at Enion "you ready?"

Alex looked at Sora and Naomi and said "let go! we'll hold them till the rest of you rally outside"

Alex opened the door and saw a massive army he gulped but steeled himself in preperation for his first real battle

Kirra smiled and said, "Hmmm, not sure, what are you talking about?"

Vix shook her head to herself and allowed Leon and Alex to direct this thing as they saw fit - it wasn't like they needed her advice right now. It would be all right.
They'd see to it.

Aura smiled faintly at Alex. "Let's do this," she said simply. "What do we do first?"

Mathias smiled at his wife. She could always say the perfect thing to make him realize exactly why he loves her. Watching her extend her fields around the house, Mathias drew his sword. As shadows engulfed the blade he stepped outside and into the sun. Closing his eyes, he concentrated on the enemy soldiers. "This army has done it's homework. They have the high ground and the sun. But..they have no magic." Looking at his kids, Mathias shook his head. He was insane for thinking he'd allow himself to die. He was still needed. Turning to look at the army again, Mathias took a deep breath then froze. HE was here...somehow, he was still alive. "I'll be back, don't have too much fun without me." He patted Einon's shoulder then ran towards the far side of the field behind the house.

Einon stood with his sister, looking out at the army. He gulped hard. This army was larger than what was in the village. Drawing his sword, he waited til his dad told him what to do. But then Alex gave the order, and since his father didn't obviously object, Einon decided to listen. Looking around, he raised his sword and began sending shadow bolts towards the archers, taking them out.

Artemis got his staff and headed outside. Using a pillar of water, he went onto the roof of the house to help Engela with the defenses, using ice and water to block the flaming catapulted rounds.

Drakkus stood near the edge of his army, staring down at the house. He was grimmacing at the fact that even with his planning and the surprise attack, they had STILL gotten a forcefield around their home. Not one arrow or boulder had even touched the house. When the large group of people ran out, he pointed to the archers to take them out. As his archers tried, the shield changed and moved, still protecting them but letting their attacks out. It was then that he saw him....the vampire. Drakkus saw Mathias run into the field. Leaving his leutenant in charge of the seige, Drakkus drew his sword and saddled his horse, riding down into the field to face the vampire.

The archers moved back, shield bearers moving into defensive positions around them to stop arrows and magic alike. Their shields were made with much thicker steel than normal, to help block all but the strongest and deadliest spells.

Einon moved infront and slightly off-center of Alex, running with him and sending more shadow bolts at the soldiers. One arrow got lucky and struck Einon in the gut. He groaned and slowed down. Grabbing the shaft of the arrow, he yanket it out, spun it around in his hand then shot it back to its owner, hitting him in the head. Einon lept into the army, attacking them with his sword. A couple of them managed to cut his legs or arms, but mostly he was untouchable.

Artemis tilted his head when Mathias ran from the rest of them. Hmm, Mathias isn't the type to.. He stopped mid thought when he saw a well-armored horseman chase after Mathias and realized he was probably facing the leader of the army. Artemis continued to block the fire bombs, but they were fewer and fewer, the others were killing the ones launching them.

The soldiers were vastly outskilled. But they continued fighting, relying on their superior forces to overwhelm the rebels. They swarmed down the hill, overtaking the shadow user (Einon) and the 'young leader' (Alex). They moved against the girls, fighting them in force. Another large group seperated Leon from the teens, fighting him hard.

Mathias lead Drakkus to the training field, to ensure there was room for the battle. He remembered how aggressively Drakkus fought, and didn't want anyone else getting in the way. Sensing he had a few moments before Drakkus got to him, Mathias drew a pentagram on the ground with his sword then sat in it, waiting. Drakkus rode into the field, making sure to keep his eyes on Mathias's direction. He stopped when he saw the vampire sit down. Getting off his horse, he walked forward. "You knew this day was coming, traitor." "I was betrayed by him, betrayal and treachery go hand in hand." Mathias looked at his former student. "Drakkus...you don't want to do this. Drop your sword, walk away, take your army and never show your face again and you can live your life in peace." Drakkus laughed. "You have gotten old, slow and stupid. This is your end, Mathias." He lunged for the vampire with his sword ready to cut of his head. Mathias flipped and rolled, his sword blocking Drakkus's. Nodding his head in respect, Mathias engaged his former friend and prodigy in a fight to the death.
