Oh he was watching. watching for anything, everything that would weed out who was this brigade, and who was not. this would be most amusing. though that brigade girl was looking like she wanted to act...but holding back because of the one on her arm. higher ranking probably.
And the couple by the jewelry store were standing there too long to be trying on and admiring jewelry. so they were probably in on this too. so kneeling down and and finding all this threads to his web of enchantment and sending out little signals. this should be amusing. lets make those four the new targets. everyone's aggression, lusts, desires, focus on those four.

Watching the boy closely, he pointed out some things of interest and even fashioned a bag from a piece of torn canvas that he found so the boy could take some of his treasures home. As of now, they were sitting in the kelp fields, watching the jellyfish. Kyst glanced over at the question and studied the boy's profile for a moment. He could tell something was bothering him, but usually waited until Nilli brought it up. Treading carefully, he shrugged. "Fishing or playing in the water. What do you think they're doing?"
He would have no idea how happy that statement made her. He really did feel something for her! Now she just had to get rid of the elf he had gotten pregnant. She moved to break up two brothers who were fighting, tugging them apart and informing them that this was not the way to behave. Suddenly, a wave of longing came over her and she turned toward Ty and began to walk over to him. Sliding up on her tippy toes, she stretched her arms around his waist, pulled him down and kissed him.
"There's a few suspicious characters but we can't just walk up to a bunch of people and start tossing out accusations or demanding things. We have to have some kind of plan and some kind of proof." He picked up a mirror and used it to look around at the gaggle behind him, meeting one man's eyes for half a moment. "I think he's blending in but there's one guy who keeps looking around like he's looking for something. See him over there?" He frowned at his sister for a moment and then shook his head. Why was he suddenly angry with her? That made no sense....

"dance magic dance. make the music that sings for my puppets strings, and let those strings move for my amusement."
Oh he caught his eye a half moment. and only the barest hint of a smile. he was a mage. and a potent one to see through his invisibility cloaks since he'd strengthened the energy into it since that little mishap with that dark wench. his estimates on the magical training these brigade went through went up a couple notches.
"anger. fear. passion. lust. misplaced love. all highly amusing. but there's something more in that other woman. a powerful love. a strong, beating bond that leads to someone that's not here."
A small laugh.
"I wonder. if I tug on that hard enough, what happens. will her beloved come running..another string to pluck and dance?"
then a tilt of his head the other way.
"that male...he's like a stone..a locked box. carefully controlled. I wonder who has that key. maybe that girl's lust and passion will give a hint. and the other one's anger might provoke a similar response in that woman he's playing 'lover' to."
weaving his fingers a bit, little spidery strings of magic. plucking the strings, pulling on the tapestries that make up the mind. distractions here and there still pulled and plucked. after all...can't have them be able to navigate the web so easy, now can he.
But the one had spotted him. so he couldn't just sit around...he'd have to move through the city. calm, careful, and act just like any other elf going about his business.

She let him play and merely contented herself in the water, as well as was doing some underside checking of her boat hull while she was doing that. Never hurt to make sure things were in working order, now did there? "I never drink and swim. I have an irrational fear of drowning when I feel I'm being stupid in the water. I should probably be worried about other things more, but I'm just not."
"He's probably herding her and all over her again, or trying to get her to be." Which made him frown at the notion of such things as they were laying there in the water. He wasn't even playing with the little fishes that had come by to investigate at them.
It wasn't hard to see that something was wrong here...or feel it either. It was slight, like a brush of wind but the feeling was still there as no magics went unfelt at all. Behind her ear, a single rune softly activted before fading once more. When she looked, she didn't particularly see who he was speaking of...however an idea had stepped into her mind. "He's waiting for us...when we should be waiting on him." Thusly stepping away from him, she openly activated her runics as as well as a temporary nulling rune over the town square area of sorts they were in. That should take care of this nonsense and intrigue someone. That done she turned back to Zhorealis. "Shall we get something to eat?"
That was beyond surprising that was for sure...he didn't expect that from her and he stood there dubfounded for a time before he broke the hold of her hands and stepped back from her. "No." That was all he said before he noticed what Fianna had done a few momnets prior. She was trying to lure. "We have work to do."

Well that was no fun. but that kind of magery marked the woman as a higher level mage. adn the magical talent she employed was not something he was familiar with...that marked rune magery. but was she a master, or just a higher tier apprentice?
And the other male hadn't reacted much except the usual stern 'no don't do that' type thing. nothing ventured though, nothing would be gained in this. So he'd have to react to runics. had to let them know he was watching and was paying attention. they might do something more to keep it.
She had nullified magic in a certain radius.. so what he did was step just beyond it, and starting pulling heavy strings. gathering minds by the things they loved and wanted most, demanding thier protection, or granting thier acqusition if they would bend to him. it didn't work on everyone, but it worked on enough. and elves started lining up...standing like statues just outside the area fianna had nullified. most just looking disinterested, like they were waiting. others looked more aggresive, defensive in their manner.
"Come now. show me something really impressive."

"Sounds like that bothers you." He could hear the edge in the boy's voice and once again felt like this would be something they needed to discuss. "You know, your mother and I sometimes mess around together, too. Does that bother you Nillrik?"
She was angry. Lhia seemed to still have the upper hand and Syrinne just couldn't' understand why. She stood there, blushing and furious with him for brushing her off so easily but her face cooled into an inscrutable mask and she followed along behind him. What had come over her, anyway? "He can't be that hard to find. There's magic everywhere."
"No, I think we have something more important to pay attention to right now." He glanced over at the elves who were following the orders of the mage who was coordinating such things. Lifting his hand, he scribed quickly then swept his hand in an erasing motion and watched as all the people that had succumbed, fell down amongst each other. They weren't dead, but they were in reverie.

That got the smallest grin. they were both runemages. and that trick was certainly impressive. dozens of elves instantly into thier version of sleep, all with a single little hand motion. so maybe they were master and apprentice? and the easiest way to get a master. especially if they cared about them, was through the student.
But how. a distraction first. then try to dominate the female and bring her to him. so a snap of his fingers, and the scroll that was still resting nicely in it's spot in the jewelry shop blazed in flame, quickly catching the shelving, and spreading like the area was covered in oil
once that had started to just get a bit of a distraction, he lowered his hand to the ground, and twisted his wrist a bit. the idea would be the ground under fianna would get like quicksand, sinker her down, and then he'd just drag her to himself...like a fish on a hook. quick and easy.

"Yeah I know you two do. She has fun with quite a few people and usually it doesn't bother me. The ones I don't know, I don't have to be around. The ones that are really close to her, like you or Luccan, or Gale are the ones that I have to be around too. When we're all together, it's different though than when it's just them and mama, or them and me. You always play with me, Luccan always has something to teach me. But when it's Gale it's always like he'd rather I not be around and only focuses on mama. He's away herding her away from me or whoever else is with her so he can be alone with her, and he's always making innuendos or trying to get her to agree to things for later. He spends all his attention on her when it's not time to just spend attention on her."
It bothered him, it really did. Sometimes he thought they all knew who his father really was and he was resented for it or something. Mama had never made a big deal about it and frankly he didn't care. He had plenty of male influence over the years to help shape him into a fine young man. "I know I can't be with her all the time, but you know..."
This was just getting stranger and stranger. "So much everywhere that the wires can get crossed." Though that seemed the least of problems as things went from prodding to out right destruction. Right then, no time for rune hiding anymore. "Syrinne, get the people to a safe distance, I'll take the fire." Thusly activating his own runes and plunging his hand into a nearby run of water, scribing in the water before lifting his hand otu and the water followed like a snake, twisting at his command up into the air above to shop before a curt motion brought it down like a hard downpour of rain on the place.
"This is starting to get less harmful and more danger-ah!" It took her a moment to register what exactly was going on as she more or less sunk into the ground. Ha, he was taking bait. The decision was easy here...struggle and get out of this mess easily as this was child't play, or let him have the superiority and let the others have an even easier time of things. After all, they had no problem tracking her at all and she was capable of protecting herself.

Galesen gave a small nod to Isle's reply and then took a sip from his glass as he continued to think. He was trying to get an idea of what he could do with Nillrik, after all it wasn't right to keep one mind focused on one family member and just shuffle the other away, not that he tried to really. But, Galesen knew he needed to spend more time with the kid, he liked Nillrik and found him to be a really smart boy, there were a lot of paths the kid could take and he wanted to be there to see what the kid would do with his life.
He had an idea of taking him to the surfing tournament that was coming up soon, he had some business to deal with and then he could sit back and watch the competitors through the tournament and such, that and he could do some other things as well. Thinking over the idea Galesen finish off the rest of his drink and put everything away before jumping back into the water. "Well, it feels weird when you have a warm drink and then cold water surrounding you, feels tingly." Smirking a bit as he floating there for a moment before moving to be on his back.

"She should enjoy herself just as you should and I should, regardless of how you do so." He thought about it for a moment and then amended, "And as long as it isn't too dangerous or won't get you into trouble with Brigade. But you know that, you're a smart boy." He reaching over and gently ran his digits through the boy's floating hair, curling up beside him and floating. "So you feel like a nuisance. I can understand why that would upset you. And it's okay to feel like that. First and foremost, Nillrik, she's your mother. That doesn't mean she has to stop having fun, but you are the most important thing to her and anyone who is with her should recognize and understand that. If they don't care about what she cares about then they aren't with her for the right reasons, nor do they really care about her."
He paused for a moment, never really good at these types of talks. "So you've got three choices, Sport. You can tell Galesen to back off, you can come hang out with me when he starts that or go off by yourself, or you can sabotage their relationship so your mom chooses not to see him anymore."
And there went her alone time. She gave a glare in the direction she assumed the magic had come from and muttered something under her breath. Walking off, she began directing people to where they needed to be so they were out of the danger zone. "Come on, everyone. Get back."
He pulled Fianna close to his side just before the quicksand so that he was sinking as well. He could get them both out, but he was not going to let her go anywhere alone.

Sighing lightly, that was not what he intended. but no matter. this would work. and the ground moved, or rather they were pulled through it toward him..though they sank up to thier shoulders before they got there. Once there, the land solidified around them. that should stop that runing thing.
Still looking like an arch elf, and kneeling down a bit.
"So, what are your names? and who are the other two that came with you?"

"Usually that means you're about to drown. You should have cleaned a fish while you were up there. My stomach is starting to protest. Nilli's probably will be soon too."
"When someone is spending time with her, they get her. But when someone is spending time with us, they need to spend time with us and not just with her." Kyst was kind of getting it and kind of not, but at least he was listening. "I suppose." Not committing to a choice but acknowledging that he did indeed have them. "If you're busy, Luccan would probably let me sit with him."
It was easy enough to get that doused, much to the horror of the owner but everyone knew that if such things happened then it would get taken care of. Especially if Ty was investigating something or other. However he knew what else was going on as well...but he held his ground for the time being.
That wasn't a pleasant feeling, but certinaly straight to the point this one was, wasn't he? "You're hardly deserving of names, I would say. Not the most pleasant fellow and quite the pain to track down."

"How so?" Well Galesen never had a problem with drinking and swimming really, but it seemed that Isle knew, probably from experience of some sorts. "Hm, well I will soon; even I'm getting hungry too, but right now I'm gonna float for a little while longer." And floating he did as he turned his gaze back to the sky with a smile. "So, have you gotten all wrinkly yet?"

"Like I do. And I know Luccan does as well because he likes to tell me how smart you are. You've made quite the impression on all of us, Sport." He really did understand what Nillrik was saying...it was just hard for Kyst to give advice. He wasn't really a father figure. "Anything else you want to talk about?" -- If he thought Zhorealis and Fianna were stuck, he was sadly mistaken. One combo rune and they could easily switch places. "Before we start giving you information that you can use against us, why don't you tell us why you're looking for us."

"Well how about this. I know your runics work by hand gesture. I've already seen that much."
squeezing his hand lightly to compress the ground around them to prevent finger movement.
"I want what you have. power. power not so easily countered or it seems widely known of. you give me your names, and the names of the others, and I'll make sure the obsidian boy survives. if you keep refusing....well he's only got a few more days before his bond thing probably drives his mother to insanity from pain and misery, and it's not a pleasant death. He means nothing to me, so either way you want to go about this works."
standing up some.
"Now, which will it be."
