"Oh... ok." Renatus said, not imposing. He began to get the feeling that he and Lucinda were very different. He walked to a roulette table, and placed bets. The man running the table began to spin the wheel and place balls. The first few spins weren't very good.

Lucinda stood behind Renatus and watched over his shoulder. She could guess that he wasn't doing very well.

Lucinda watched the ball go round and started to pick up the premise of the game, and the fact that Renatus was beginning to win.

Renatus watched the ball click around the wheel, his bet was looming near. The wheel and ball slowed. Click The ball landed right where he had predicted. "Yes." Renatus said surprisingly calmly. He had put his bet specifically and won more money than usual. He pulled in the gold smiling.

Renatus smiled, emptying the gold into his pack. "This is why I've never had to work an honest day for gold. Pure luck." He chuckled. He pushed back the chair and stood. He jingled the pack, "Here's tonight's rent." he said happily.

Lucinda nodded, though she didn't plan to let him pay for her. "So you do this often?" she asked.

Renatus laughed quietly. "Yeah I suppose." He said, wondering if she meant to stay with him long. No one really did... Renatus' depressing thoughts displayed on his face without him realizing.

"Oh. Thank you..." Renatus said looking down and bowing slightly. He looked around the building, and noticed the bar. "Would you like to get a drink?" he asked in an attempt to break the awkwardness.
