Mystic Kalika

PostPosted: Tue Jan 10, 2006 11:41 am

Kalika took a breath of the fresh meadow air. "Ah, how nice."
Kalika looked over all the people and Talas in the meadow, and suddenly missed her baby.
"Sabre!" she called.
A small saber tooth tiger the size of a cat ran towards Kalika. She lifted him up and nuzzled him.
"You are not a Tala, but I love you anyways. Maybe you can be friends with the Tala?"

Sabre moved around and nuzzled Kalika, then slipped onto her shoulder. He replied in her head as he walways does.
"I don't know, only if they accept me. You know how that goes."

"Of course I do. You have been with me the whole last few hundreds of thousands of years. Hardly anyone accepts a Saber Tooth Tiger. I know I am only half, but you are a Saber, and most people think us mean."

"It's okay, I have you."

"Don't get too mushy. Let's just relax."

Kalika began to slip away fomr consciousness, drifting into a deep sleep with Sabre laying on her chest.

A fae-winged, scarfed talaye raced onto the meadow ahead of a green cat-like creature with a red fox on his back. The fox seemed to be holding on for dear life while constantly looking over his shoulder as if looking for something.

Laughing the tala pranced lightly in place, feet just barely not stepping on the ends of her long scarf. "See! Told ya I'd beat you here, Locke!"

Panting for breath the cait smiled. His familiar however scowled. "Of course he'd lose! He's smaller than you and can't take your long strides!"

So focused in their own game, they did not see the others laying in the grass.

"Nenemne! Nenemne! Isht, Kiran! Isht!" A shrill giggle accompanied the words & the 3 paused in their bickering to watch the arrival. A 6 inch faerie-like creature of blue & grey colorings rode the bck of a small yellow persekitty. The kunkun's wings fluttered every so often as if it thought such action would speed its mount up. Both were grinning to beat the band and otherwise having a great time.

"Tien & Kiran don't seem upset that they didn't win either." Locke grinned at the fox. "I don't understand why you're upset anyway, Shippou. Not like you would race." Everyone but the familiar laughed at that. The little fox never did anything he did not have to do. Tien just laughed becuse she could. Kun's were not known for their intelligence. "Besides, most of the fun is the race itself!"

The cait nodded vigorously, but the tala only looked at him funny. "But winning's fun too?" It sure felt fun to her.

The tala is small for an adult, petite, and there's a look of uncertainty in her mismatched eyes; she lingers, just at the edge of view, peering over a rock to get a better look at the others in the area, her ears pinned back apprehensively to her skull. In appearances, she is pretty, although so shy and demure that it almost overshadows her; her fur, silken and long, is a rich tone of amethyst, darkening around her extremities, and she has markings like tattoos along her forelimbs. Her eyes, a mismatched green and gold, dart across the area uncertainly, and every muscle in her body tenses, as though trying to decide if she should step out into public.

The meadow was empty, and it appeared to Nazca that it had been for some time. The mahogany pup had hoped for some company from the other Talaye while she explored the great wide world for the very first time - It's so much brighter out here than it was in my basket, she mused to nobody in particular - but that wouldn't stop her from frolicking among the long grasses that were calling her name. Instead, she sniffed the air carefully, quickly identifying her chosen play quarry in the form of a few mustard-yellow butterflies. She giggled with joy and clumsily galloped away in their direction, her glossy blood-bay coat sparkling in the evening sunlight.

I'm going to get you! Heehee!

The young black and white tala had wandered away to the meadow a while ago. She is now laying on her back and watching what was happening from her new perspective, hidden from view by the tall grasses of the meadow.

-Who knew that watching things moves while upside down could be so much fun! Those butterflies look like a bunch of flower petals that are slowly falling down into a deep, blue abyss..-

Elanyen

Elanyen wandered into the meadow, looking around at the peacefully bobbing flowers with a sense of combined loneliness and awe. The world she lived in seemed quieter these days. Not many Talaye around to talk to. She did appreciate the peace, but at times she wished that she could just stroll through the meadow and find a friend to converse with. Since this was not the case and didn't seem to be changing in the near future, she instead padded to a nice sunny spot of grass. Looking around once more and seeing nothing but insects and plants, she circled once around and settled into the soft green spot. The sun was warm on her dark fur, but that didn't bother her, it was nice to be warm. A few clouds passed through the sky, but they didn't cover the sun for long, which was nice since she was already getting used to the sun's heat on her body. She was just settling down into a nap when the scent of another caught in her nostrils.

Calder

Another was indeed on their way, their eyes skyward as he raced after a dragonfly. Skidding to a halt, he crouched before springing up to try and 'catch' the little insect. It hovered there a moment before zipping away and Calder found himself with empty paws once again. Landing, he started off after the insect once more, however this time the chase had turned in the direction of the other in the feild and Clader wasn't paying attention.

The dragonfly had other ideas though, having spotted the other talaye and thinking it was an ambush, it about faced. Calder was left to scramble as he finally caught sight of the other talaye and skid to a hault so as not run into her. Blinking, he let a sheepish smile cross his muzzle.

"Eh heh. Hi there! Sorry to nearly plow into you. I almost didn't see you there."

Elanyen looked up sleepily at a male Talaye that was suddenly very near to her. Realizing his proximity she tried to shake of the tendrils of sleep as she rose to a sitting position, her haunches still firmly in her spot in the grass. She blinked a few times in the bright sunlight which her eyes had to adjust to and mirrored his smile, but more confidently, "Hello there, it's all right, you didn't actually, so no harm. I was sleeping, and the grass is rather tall, so it is understandable."

Deciding that making a new friend would be an excellent way to fend off the loneliness of the otherwise empty field, Elanyen rose to a standing position, her toes being tickled by the grass around her feet. "I'm Elanyen, what's your name?"

The blue and black Talaye shuffled from paw to paw, tail swishing behind him. "Name's Calder! A pleasure to meet you!" he chuckled. Deciding to end his fidgeting, he plopped down to a sit. "Not many come to the meadows right now. What brings you?"

Elanyen tilted her head, "Calder eh? A pleasure to meet you as well." She smiled, and sat again as the Talaye facing her did. Her tail swished through the grass absently. "I come for the quiet... And on the off chance someone else is here. It's lonely in the world lately.... No one seems to be around." As if to test this theory once more, Elanyen looked around her, her eyes squinting to make out the far reaches of the meadow. "Why are you here anyway?"

As she waited for an answer, Elanyen crouched and watched the progess of an ant on one of the many blades of grass. Besides this newly arrived Talaye, ants were one of the few interesting creatures in this meadow.

His tail wagged as he watched her watch the ant. "It was actually the dragonfly that pulled me out here." he chuckled. "Say... You wouldn't be busy would ya?"

Elanyen tore her attention away from the ant for a few moments to look up at him quizzically. "Busy?" She couldn't help but laugh a bit and look around, "Do I look busy?" There was no anger or sarcasm to her voice, just pleasant amusement. There was no one in the field besides them, it felt as if there were no one in the world besides them. There was nothing to be busy with besides eating and sleeping. Talking with Calder was the most amusement she had had in a long while.

"No, I'm not busy. What is it you want to do?" She hoped it was a game, she hadn't played a game besides chase the butterfly in what felt like forever. She straightened up to show her readiness for anything, not wanting him to change his mind and disappear again.

He chuckled, tail wagging at her eagerness to play. "How about some tag then? I'm it." he grinned.
