I keep forgetting to come up with a name that I want to be called in Spanish class. gonk

I rather like Aquilina, I think...but I don't know. gonk

Hmm...I like that name, here are some others I like a lot.

Paz
Andrea
Rosario
Consuelo
Marisol
Laura
Isabela
Eva
Rosalinda
Luz
Paulina

You're name would be "Rebeca"...if you wanted to used that. Remember to pronounce it: rrrrrrrrre-BAY-cah. 4laugh

Eh, I occasionally get sick of my own name.

Actually, I really like Aquilina. It means "hawk-eyed" or "observant" (one of my best qualities; I notice everything), it has a nice sound, and it actually bears some lexical similarities to the Aquenandi word for "speaker of the language." (Aquennina)

Las clases acaban de empezar hoy, y estoy tomando una clase de composición en español, y ¡la profesora es sevillana! ¡Qué bueno! biggrin

anaranjado

That is my least favorite word EVER.

¿y por qué?

¡ah! no vi este mensaje hasta ahora mismo; lo siento.

No me gusta la palabra "anaranjado" porque ¡tengo que retrasar mi habla para pronunciarlo! stressed

Yo: "Hoy compré un cuaderno nuevo para una de mis clases."
Otra persona: "¿De qué color es?"
Yo: "Es aranj... ana... a-na-ran-ja-do."

sad

Qué guay, eh? 4laugh

Está bien. wink Comprendo lo que dices. Entonces, pronúnciala: "anranjado". 3nodding wink

Right now we're just learning the greetings and whatnot. "Hello", "Goodbye", "Where are you from?" stuff like that. xD
The class is fine, although it's not how I usually learn languages. I'm still kind of confused about the 'usted' being third-person (read ahead in the textbook). xd

Every week, you're supposed to spend two hours in the Language Lab, practicing languages with the native speakers. I think I'm probably going to be doing the same with French, unofficially (of course). whee

I need more speaking practice. Hell, I need more speaking practice in English.

"Usted" is the polite form of "tú". 3nodding Don't worry about it. It's only conjugated with the 3rd person as a way of respect.

You have a language lab? eek With native speakers? surprised That is TOO cool.
