 'Precognition. In a fatal situation, I'll get a vision of my own death, and it gives me ideas of how to avoid that death. And sometimes, if I'm around other people, I'll get a vision of their death, too. So I can try and stop others from dropping dead.'
She thought hard, trying to think of an example.
'Alright, before Aizel and me came here, we were stuck in this grotty old temple. Full of hidden traps and s**t, right? Aizel had the smart idea of poking s**t about, and pulled this mechanism switch type thing. I had a vision of these three spikes leaping out from the wall, puncturing his chest and killing him. He still pulled the ******** switch, but I managed to drag him out of the way of the spikes, thank ********. Understand?'

"I see.. But sheesh. Couldn't you have told me that before I shot you, so that I didn't think I was going to kill you?" he asked. "Anyway. Didn't you say you thoguht you might be able to help a bit? How does this help anything?"

'I thought it would've been a better demonstration like this,' she shrugged. 'But my whole point is, if someone came charging through the door, stabbed you or something, and you died, I'd probably see it happen before it actually did, and be able to intervene.'

'Well then,' she said, taking the gun from out of his hand, and slipping it back into her holster. 'The only time it doesn't seem to work is in the arena, or if I think I'm going to die, but there's no genuine threat. An illusion.'
The last two words were said with a snarl, and Evangeline's expression temporarily darkened.

The last two words made Mads shiver, reminding him of when MK had used the PND at him.
"I understand. Although I still don't get how that's supposed to help me?"

Mads laughed a bit as Craft mentioned 'luck'. "You know. Luck has never been on my side." he said, and got up from the bed. "I'll be in need of something to do, 'til everything I can't help with is over."
