Crow sat down where he stood and listened. A "dark side"? He felt that this may be the explanation for the abnormal change in Jackie's Ki. He was sure that they'd all seen the darker nature of themselves or others in the labs, but this seemed to be a bit different.

"it wasnt burning me, it just felt like you were running a fever. i have a better sense of feeling than most people but someone else might not have noticed. yeah, that is a little better. you didnt answer my other question, though. why was he so worried? he sounded like he was angry one minute and upset the next. if you know what was wrong with him, please tell me. im worried about him."

"He may want to tell you himself. If he does, I don't want to take that away from him. I hope you understand." Strobe said, stepping up onto a boulder, then lifting Patrick's arm ever so slightly to let him know what was coming up.

"tap your foot so i know where its safe to stand and how high." he waited fo rthe sound and when it came, he jumped right up as if his lack of sight were not a problem. "yeah, i understand. im still worried about him though. so, are there others besides you and max? i think i heard someone else with you two but im not sure. and what did those people do to you?" it sounded like a rude question when he said it, but there was a curious undertone to his voice that made it clear that he just wanted to learn more about all this.

Kioko looked at Jackie. She seemed awfully quiet these last couple of minutes, i wonder what she was thinking
"i think its best of Jackie told us herself. i dont know all the details either"

max rushed into the cave almost out of breath and looking a little feral. "kioko," he growled, "i need another vial of that serum. please, i need it fast." his tail swished angrily behind him

ioko turned around lookat Max weirdly. Sure the vial was losing its effects but he didnt have to growl.
"okay, sure. you in a rush or something?" She said taking out one of her many necklaces, this time it had a small pouch at the end in means for carrying things.
She took it off her neck and opened it up, reaching her hand in there, almost to the length of her mid-arm searching for the many potions she made for max earlier. After finding one of the vials floating aimlessly in the pouch, she grabbed it and took it out, handing it to Max.
"so, what about the other one you took at the lab? did it not work or something?"

"yeah im in a rush. i guess the effects arent permanent until after a few doses. i have a guest coming, his name is patrick. when he gets here, please make him feel welcome, and tell him he can lean on me if he wants to. ill see you all when i wake up." he sat down next to the wall of the cave and quickly downed the vial. "ugh, this stuff still burns worse than alcohol." he said groggily before falling asleep.

"wow, he knows what to expect already." kioko said a bit amused.
she wanted to try to lighten up the atmosphere in the cave, if they have a visitor, then it should be lightened up. Nobody wants to enter an atmosphere of doom and gloom when they first arrive. it would make them feel awkward...
"umm, i think we should continue this talk later. We should make partick feel welcome" Kioko said smiling at Jackie and then at Crow

Crow crossed his arms and displayed an akward expression, he thought about Patrick's disability, he had no idea how he was supposed to help a blind person feel welcome, being unable to speak. Crow sighed and looked around, he waited for suggestions as to how anyone would help this situation, living in the outskirts of the city for his entire life he had no concept of 'lightening up' an atmosphere.

"Do you remember the Richardson's Virus epidemic?" Strobe asked after he tapped his foot against the stone. "Well, most of the experiments are from bodies killed by this disease. I think some scientist said it was about finding the people with potential? I dunno. But they did all these genetic experiments on us, giving us different powers for different reasons. I happen to shoot plasma from every orfice when I have a nightmare, and there's this guy named Crow whose some sort of super secret ultimate weapon. I'd hate to see the country they were gonna use him on."

"note to self, dont fall asleep next to strobe." he turned towards strobe and smile. "im kidding. yeah, i remember when that virus came through. max and i had it together, but we made it through ok. he complained about everything i did being loud, but i remember him making funny noises in his sleep too, almost like....purring. but that means..." his face lit up with realization. "do you think theres a connection between the virus and everyone's powers?"

kioko stared at Crow, being unable to talk really is hard to interpret what he's saying sometimes.
"so, you've met Max's guest? is it a girl or a guy?" Kioko said questiongly.

Crow scratched the back of his head, it didn't seem to be a hard thing to convey. He thought about it for a moment, then after twiddling his fingers around made a crude but vaugely recognizable 'male gender' arrow symbol with his hands.
