Woaw, lotta posts around here lately.
Well, I'll try to answer like "in order" XD...

Jen, I am very bad to comfort people, but I cannot tell you how sorry I am, and how much I understand such situation myself... u_u *follows others in giving a hug*

Nonetheless, allons-y pour la tradition :
Happy new year, everyone <3
And I am not experiencing a bad hangover right now <3

Well I thought I would answer you later, Unknown variable, but I'll do right now XD
I won't use quotations, it forces me to go and take a look again and again to your reply, and I am on a laptop so it's kinda hard XD
Well well.

Hm... How to explain that simply. In English, I would have been able to say "I know some kanjis", but I can also say "I know some", and full stop, right? This is the same mechanism. "en" refers to "les kanjis". "Je connais des kanjis" = "J'en connais"/ "Je mange des cerises" = "j'en mange". Basically works with everything. I guess XD It is used to refer to a fore-mentioned Direct object (I insist on that, only DO, not indirect objet), if you want to put the right words for it XD
Oh my god your FRENCH TEACHER taught you something wrong? This is definitely a shame. Let me be your new French teacher, I'm sure I'm more adequate XDDD
No, you don't have that in English XD Basically, all nouns are neutral for you, except refering to humans, or sometimes animals if there is some kind of affection. I remember my grammar exam, I had to translate something like "Le chien a refusé de manger sa nourriture". So I wrote something as : "The dog refused to eat its food (or his food? is it considered as a he in the family?)" XD French is an horrible pain simply because of having like ..."genders" for object. And there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY you can tell, if not native, what gender a noun is. You basically have to learn ALL this BY HEART. WHAT the hell is this XD You have to learn ALL nouns by heart XD My father once told me "Les noms féminins finissent très souvent par"e" !". I stared at him and said. "Tu dis "une fourmi", y'a pas de e,tu dis "un cadavre" et ça se termine par e, une brebis, une fleur, un pétale, un orbe, un tentacule,... Je continue ? <3" XD

Oh, tu peux dire excité, en fait. Only perverts think of this word as "turned on" XDDDD My father usually says "Rah, p*tain, ça m'excite ça !" when he's really angry, for instance XD Je suis très excité de te connaître... It's okay. Well it sounds okay to me, at least. Better not using iit though, you're right, actually... French people are perverts XDDD

Bri always hate me being gone, even if its for a week or so. @_@

Jen : Yes, I really appreciate such atmosphere ^^ I actually was a bit nervous at first but now I am overjoyed being here <3 You are all so kind, nice, and fun <3
Ah, yes, my grand-father. But he is more or less okay right now... I don't even know exactly the details, I didn't want to ask about them >.<. My girlfriend's grand-father too. I don't know him though but I naturally does not really like to "see" her sad (she lives in Quebec and I live in France XD). Apparently his situation is also getting better though.

Peter: Yeah. It was really hard having Hubby gone.
After he got home he was sweet enough to watch the girls while I took a soak in the tub (and played Bust-A-Move on his DS).
Yeah... I'd been a bit anxious about the separation before hand. It was only the second time since we've been married we've been apart like that. The other time was when Kay (before we had El or Essy) and I went to visit my sister in Maryland. Hubby was invited, but had to stay home for work.

Petite-Imochan: Thank you, that's very sweet. <3
I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm glad to hear that he's okay now.

I think part of why this is so hard on Mom too is that's how we lost her brother. Cancer. And like six months before her brother went we lost my Grandpa. Recovering from a 5-bypass surgery and had another heart attack. So it's like it can't ever be just one person... *wry laugh*

My department at work went through so many deaths last year; it was heartbreaking. Three co-workers lost their mothers, one co-worker's husband lost his brother and mother within months of each other, there were other illnesses and accidents, and one woman found out her son had leukemia. It was nice, though, to see how everyone gathered around the co-workers in need and supported each other through it all.

I'm home from visiting my dad in the hospital, and I have an update: The cancer is stage IV lymphoma, which, apparently, as far as cancer goes is good news, well the lymphoma, not so much the stage IV part. Lymphoma means that the cancer originated in the lymph system. We were told that this is much better news than if it had originated elsewhere and spread to the lymph system. They have a sample for a byopsy to determine if it is Hodgkin's or Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. We're hoping for Hodgkin's because there is a 90-95% chance for recovery whereas Non-Hodgkin's gives a 50% chance. Unfortunatly at this point the symptoms point toward Non-Hodgkin's. Either way as far as caner goes not as bad as it could be.

Dad will stay at the hospital he is at for now, but will be moved to another hospital on Monday to begin chemotherapy. Some point after his is moved to this other hospital they will also take a sample to see if the cancer has spread to the bone marrow.

Dad's doctor said that he's pretty sure they can clear up the cancer from the neck down, but the trouble is going to be that he's got a lesion on his brain. Not only has this lesion grown and moved since last look, but the brain barrier has hardened and thickened...

Hopefully 2010 was trying to get it's last attempt in, and 2011 will see them both fully recover Jen!
I know what it's like to lose loved ones, but never to cancer. The closest I've come (to my knowledge at least) was when I was checked for skin cancer ... four years ago now? Wow, has it really been that long?

But I really hope they get better!
Either way I'm here for you, just like everyone else is!

Meri: Sorry I didn't reply last time. I was pretty much just on long enough to update. That does sound like a rough year, but I'm glad to hear that you have such a wonderful work environment.

Vin: We're pretty sure we've had our last Christmas with Grandma... it's not just the cancer with her. I mean she's eighty... eighty... eighty-something.. I can't make my head remember. sweatdrop She's broken her hip, her kataracts are coming back, her kidneys are failing...

*hugs* It's always hard to lose a loved one no matter why.
Some people lose loved ones in a car wreck or something that just takes them instantly and it's hard 'cause they didn't get to say good-bye, but prolonged deaths aren't easy either because you have to watch your loved ones suffering.

I'm guessing that was negative? You would have told us if you tested positive right?

Thanks. I appreciate it Vin. <3

Yea, I've only lost family members in the quick fashion. Or at least the ones I can remember.
I can't imagine knowing that they are slowly going down hill and not being able to do anything about it. *hugs*
Even if she doesn't make it to next Christmas physically, she'll still be there in spirit!

And yes, the tests were negative. But I was told at that point to avoid the sun, and I've had a couple questionable freckles since then. (And one that grew then turned white and disappeared. Which the on-campus dermatologist told me was nothing to worry about/she thought I was just crazy.)

I love the art in your sig. <3

Vin: Yeah, I know she will.

I've had some questionable moles removed... The first one I had removed they said was pre-cancerous, but I had no idea what that meant I was young. The ones removed since have not been problems.
We'll I'm glad that there's no worries there. 3nodding heart

One more thing, anyone who'd like to stop by my quest thread and leave some love and encouragment there for Mom... that would be wonderful. I don't know when she'll get on Gaia next, but I know she could use the love and support even more than I can right now. Thanks guys! <3 *pulls everyone into a big hug*
