I'll try my best...
If there are 250 total apartments and there must be 50 more two-bedroom apartments than one-bedroom apartments then you divide 250 by fifty which equals 5, meaning 5 50's. Split them up and add together two parts into two different numbers which makes 100 of each leaving 50 left over. Add the remaining 50 to the two-bedroom apartments and you have your answer. 150 two-bedroom apartments and 100 one-bedroom apartments.
